Chasing has come a long way and were the first to market at bringing affordable consumer ROVs to the masses. I've tested their entire lineup and am very excited to put the M2 with these accessories through the test. It seems they have implemented all they have learned into this very well engineered ROV.
P.S. Unfortunately the first generation Insta360One X cam sent down on the submarine was TOAST :( from the dive case leak but is only rated for 30 Meters so I was a bit deeper. The new X2 cam is rated deeper (50meters) with new dive case below :)

The squid on the bonnet like a Rolls Royce emblem was hilarious 😄
That sub is pretty amazing. We are now approaching professional level ROV quality at consumer level pricing and availability. You are definitely not boring us while cruising the sea floor. I could watch this all day. I am looking forward to a night dive with this sub. BTW, what's the secret to getting your amazing kiddos to patiently hang with their awesome dad while you create these top notch reviews? Keep it up. Your reviews are secretly an escape for us viewers to pretend we live in paradise and get to play with cutting edge toys...I mean equipment. Cheers bruddah! 🤙
Thank you. Kids may get a bit board at times but I'd like to think they know their helping dad and we always do some fishing afterwards which they really enjoy then go for burgers and ice cream 🙂🍻
@@DustinDunnill Hi Dustin, would you recommend this drone over the FIFISH V6 you reviewed back in 2019? Im debating between this and the fifish for my first submersible drone for taking nice HD pictures and videos, would be interested to hear which one you would suggest - thanks! Luke
From the old V6 version I tested yes but I need to test latest V6 soon and see if they've improved 🍻
More of these videos please! this is one of the coolest things ive ever seen, really a final frontier
What an awesome sub! Great video quality. Excellent dive test Dustin & looking forward to the next video 😊
Very cool video… you manage to make them very creative every time (even at the cost of some Insta360 cams…).
And yes, those are moments of value with our children… my daughter is now very good at flying my disco and my bebop fpv… which I wouldn’t have bought if I hadn’t discovered them through your videos.
Thank you mate, really.
Yet another amazing review keep it up man.
All the footage was awesome, dude. Great drone and great video. Thanks for sharing
Best remote controlled anything channel! Love it.
I remember when these drones used to be 100s of thousands of dollars and now there affordable to civilians the way things age is crazy
when was this ?
This is a very cool video. Well done. Thank you so much for sharing this video with us out here in UA-cam land.
Thanks! Glad you found it useful 🙂🍻
Great time to be alive! Buying one of these fore sure, that mechanical arm is SICK!!!!
This would be a fantastic tool for exploring flooded mine shafts!!! And the claw!! Amazing 🤩
Another great video by dustin it looked like you guys had a good time out there on the open water
So cool. See the world in a different way.
Seen a Chinese guy the other day placed a small fishing rod to it and catching quite big fish. Taking his pick on what fish he wanted to catch.
Great video Dustin I want one I want one lol. One thing for sure you live in a great part of the world. The water there is so clear keep them coming mate
Thanks Kevin. Was a fun little excursion 🍻
Wow this thing is accurate! It makes so seamlessly
Awesome Review Dustin, it looks beautiful down there, I wish I could breathe underwater 😂 🤘💯
You can!!! Learn to scuba dive! I do it all the time!
When the squid fell a fish was coming after it but you scared him off haha oh no. Very interesting video I wish I could afford one of these bad boys!
How did you go with the motors seizing after use. I have to swim mine atleast once a week in the bath to keep them from seizing. Thinking I'll get some bulk wd40 or somthing and giving it a swim in that tonreally get it in to the motors and lube them up a bit
Great video.. i Love it
Very cool thanks.
This is 😎 cool. If I lived by an ocean I would get one. I have a pond out back but it's on like 3 ft deep lol 😆
Nice review! Did you try to use the rov with boat in movement?
Great video! I was curious about a links to that sonar ball you showed in the beginning.
Really interesting footage, I could imagine how cute it would be if a human can walk at the sea bottom as effortlessly as a ROW, a great way to spend an afternoon at the sea bottom :)
that is soo cool
Great videos thanks! Overall which is best please the Chasing M2 or the FiFish v6?
Really glad you like it! Awesome video!
Thanks. I would like to request a few improvements to make your software better.
1. Unit selection does not save after restart.
2. Rollers are too sensitive for pitch and roll but handle linear setting does not seem to effect them.
3. Occasional motor locking and app disconnected seems to still be an issue.
4. Occasional FPV wifi stutter and lag is still a slight issue I hope can be improved.
Otherwise, very amazing Underwater ROV. Great progress on the product line 👍
@@DustinDunnill Copy that, thank you very much! We'll let the product department know, and if you have more suggestions, pls don't hesitate to tell us! :D
Great little machine ....love it ...!!! thanks for review ..!!!...excellent little ROV ...LET ME CHECK PRICES ..!! cheeerrrsss
Just got my M2, when i power it up it goes straight down then cuts out each time, any ideas?
Good video....👍👍👍
How do you keep it from getting into a tangled mess with all the obstruction one might encounter underwater
Great video Dustin! I also own a Chasing M2 and found that plugging FPV goggles into the HDMI port solved the lag issue because the goggles get a signal straight from the controller rather than using the Wi-Fi. I just wanted to put that out there in case it helps. Again, great video.
Thank you Brien. Makes sense the HDMI output wouldn't have the lag or stutter in video that the Wi-Fi to iPad does on occasion. Have you had the motors randomly locking on occasion issue I've had here?
@@DustinDunnill I have never had it to happen while the sub was in the water. It has happened on dry land a couple of times when I was too close to a Wi-Fi router. Any chance your phone was interfering with it?
Thanks. Could be the 80° water or yes possibly my phone on boat. Don't think I turned it off. I'll try that next time. 🍻
@@DustinDunnill The water temperature is probably OK. I have dove in 80+ degree water, but I have also taken the sub under ice. I noticed the temperature affecting battery life, but did not see any other adverse effects.
Nice
Nice intro...🔥
Hey Dustin! After watching your fantastic underwater drone videos, I’ve decided I’m going to buy myself one as well. Do you have any recommendations for a beginner such as myself? I’ve heard that the powervision sub is an adequate pick.
Thanks. I wasn't very impressed with the power ray. But you get hat you pay for. Just depends on your budget and what kind of specs you want. The Power ray or Chasing's Dory should be affordable for a total beginner & do the basics 🍻
Hi Dustin, just make sure you rinse your M2 in a bucket of fresh water after use, ours is in for repair after only 2 times using it, all 8 propellers stopped working because “apparently” we didn’t rinse it enough. Just letting you know so you don’t sit with the same issue.
Thanks. Yes definitely rinse more than you think is good enough. I like to fill a tub bucket or large sink and just turn it on for a while to let the motors soak and move with power. Then take out and shake water out at all angles. Set in sun or dry warm area and rotate it a couple of times while drying for a few days. Blow dryer works well also. It's a lot but will keep these subs running well 🍻
Yes I think this is the to pick being able to pitch it downwards and hold a depth I had hoped it would but , but I live on a river and the waters are high in salinity so I’m hoping the 4000 lumen will light up the floor the next model up the pro you can put on a sonar so I’d like to see it ,
Great vid man, sorry to see reefs so beat up its sad
Thats cool as heck....but yea u both braver then me...one its ocean...nope...and that little boat....noone seen jaws?? Lol..great video..gunna have start saving..need one for collection...
Hope you get a chance to try the QSEA Fifish 6 again or the 6s that comes with a claw. The FiFish looks like the best between these two. I’ve seen a great video of a guy picking up bottles from the bottom and it was rock solid.
Looking good brah! Funny I was just watching a few of your rov reviews yesterday with the waterfall pond and you and dad on the sportyak. This one is day and night superior to them. From the boat to the fish finder to the camera's. Looking so professional! I gotta say I love this rov too! Rock solid in every way I know what I want for Christmas this year. I live on the big island too but up north on Vancouver Island. Lots of reefs here too just alot colder so water isn't quite as clear. Wow sad to see all that white coral. Anyways I'm blabbing on just wanted to say looks great.
🍁🍻
@@DustinDunnill Cheers Dustin, from our big island to yours.
🤙🍻
goood underwater drine chasing m2
That's a good bit of pressure on the 360 deg camera enclosure, prob would have been OK about half that depth. Sorry for the camera biting the dust but that sub is so cool, got to have one to check out all the tanks, apaches, and wrecks they sunk here in North Florida to make reefs. They have fishing maps with coordinates you get and go right to them and would be pretty cool
I was right at and a few feet over the manufacturer depth spec limit for this dive case. Looks like they're pretty accurate 🍻
Does it have a UV flashlight?
great video and control you have......
I even Bought it.. Its reailt a good product.. i Bought if After Seeing your Video
BRO I WANT ONE SO BAD! As a fisherman it would be so interesting to see whats down in the ocean where we live
This are just really cool. So the tether cord doesn't get tangeled in that coral i guess?
Tether has a little positive buoyancy so unless you are weaving between large structures quicky or in caves, it is very hard to get it caught up 🍻
in Michigan we are not allowed to use a drone to do any hunting of game..there is a time requirement between flying and hunting..i assume fishing falls under the same lines. Be sur to check with your local game management to make sure you are legal and safe.
Thanks Dustin, I have just ordered one of these to replace two different ROV's that I have, I have been watching a few reviews in this ROV, but haven't seen anyone testing the HDMI out, have you tried it yet. thanks G
I haven't but I'll try to test in more videos. I hear it works fine 🍻
Hey Dustin, one of the first videos I ever remember watching of yours was way back when you were using a remote underwater craft to try and find your Mavic Pro. I was wondering, did you ever find your drone?
Never found it but I want to try that pond with this M2. Maybe find some treasures 🙂🍻
@@DustinDunnill fuck yea i hope so good luck dustin
No mavic but lotza prawns!!!lol
i think this is a good idea for fishing. Bring the lure/bait close to the fish with this sub
잘보았습니다.
Great video, but is the 360 camera, an accessory, or does it come with the Chase?
It is an extra camera I put on for a different angle 🍻
What's there customer service like? I want to get one but I'm afraid that if something breaks it would be a nightmare to get repaired.
the fish was a yellow tang. cool video
cool
Nice video. Will there be a 360° video of the underwater view coming? This would be awesome to watch in the oculus if there was!
Maybe. I'd like to find a better reef for a purely 360 virtual vid 🍻
@@DustinDunnill I’ll take whatever you decide to make!
Great video. All the dead corals is concerning.
How do you rate this compared to the Fifish V6? I'm struggling to choose between the two, you seemed to have more success with this?
I'm re-visiting the V6 to see if updates & improvements make it better. The M2 is a solid one that I do recommend at this point 🍻
@@DustinDunnill I look forward to the video!
A 360 camera on a lunar or Mars lander would be so cool. You should publish this as 360 VR synced with the original audio.
I'll do one in a nicer area 🍻
@@DustinDunnill especially good in a marine environment aren’t they as there could be interesting fish just off to the side of the normal camera. Looking forward to seeing what you capture.
My guess and hope,
is that the underwater vid quality will
be like a go-pro 10 , compared with the intro quality,
which was obviously shot with a toaster.
22:40 "A little bit more too sea on this reef."
Is there any way to view through fpv goggles instead of a tablet?
Yes, use goggles that can plug in via HDMI port. Most FPV goggles now have the port 🍻
@@DustinDunnill sweet. Thanks for the reply
Lol dustin :- we all saw you wipe your squiddy hands on your shorts like a habitual muckydons employee. Make sure you put them in the wash sunshine ☀️. ✌🏻
Lol... Fisherman's reflex 😂🍻
The fish is called the Yellow Tang.
Boss Dustin is on again taking break again air2 s army out
Cool ROV, heartbreaking Coral :(
Looks epic, these bad boys can go to 330ft (confirmed) depth but i heard they can push to 420ft (if you have long enough tether) can't confirm that but 330ft is confirmed.
The girl looks board though, lol
that fish was a morish idol
Not an Angelfish but a Moorish Idol...
Orientate lol… I love you bro 😂
Great control! Too bad the Insta360 died. :(
I’m sad I didn’t find any rust comments, In Rust We Trust!!
Yellow Tang (Zebrasoma flavescens) A Hawaii native fish.
It's a Moorish Idol. Not a tang.
@@rin6521 Again @24min 35sec Yellow Tang lau'ipala. Tang is a native fish there (HI has Moorish Idol Kihikihi too). I'm 100%.
@@twt000 Oh my misunderstanding, I thought you were talking about the one he was calling an angelfish.
Please let the boy try.
Prices here in Aus are $700 for a Dory, $2000 for a Mini, $3000 for the FyFish V6 and $4000 for the M2. You can get them a few hundred cheaper on eBay, Aliexpress or Bangood but I’m not sure if they are legit or what. I wish there was something good between the Dory and the Mini. Not much available secondhand. I’ve seen a Powerray Wizard secondhand for $1200 but I wanted something with tilt hold. The Dory’s depth is too limiting. A dory with a 50m depth and a 100m tether for $1000 would be a sweet buy. I wonder why chasing doesn’t up the depth for the Dory? I would have thought that wouldn’t be hard.
The Chasing Mini is definitely the most capable around the 1k mark and the next inline to the Dory. I suppose ALL Underwater ROV would have the higher pricing in your location across the board so that wouldn't be a factor?
@@DustinDunnill correct. I imagine the freight for the Chinese ROVs might be the same to the US as to Aus but the Australian dollar is 1.4 USD so there is already that. Where have you seen $1000 USD for the mini? Maybe they deliver.
i dont know there drone for water
If driving unmanned under water the correct term is ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle.... for 30+ years). If it flys unmanned the correct term is Drone (for 30+ years).
I agree. Always heard them called and known as ROV's. I think due to the popularity of the drone industry the companies started calling them "underwater drones" as a marketing technique. They will always be ROV's to me.
I agree
I also agree 👍
