Fishing with an Underwater Drone in Alaska

We had some laughs attaching a short fishing rod to one of our underwater drones and dropping it on a reef in Alaska. Fearing we might lose the drone to a huge halibut or lingcod we cut the hooks off the lures. You won't believe what color the fish responded to best!

If you were able to set the hook does the drone have enough strength to reel it in? I’m getting the evo-v for this reason and I’m scared the fish will take away with the drone!

That’s why we cut the hook off 🤣. We could definitely pull in a rockfish with it, but if a big ling or halibut jumped on it’d see-ya-later drone 🤯
