Belize is so laid back and relaxing. I stayed on Amber Gris Caye outside San Pedro a while back. Great people, great food and a wonderfully relaxed lifestyle. Great place to go to unplug.

I just returned from 10 days in Belize. Toured all over the country. The people are actually really nice. The food is amazing. And the money exchange is easy to deal with. The roads don’t have good signage. It can be challenging to drive there. I did get used to it however. Definitely going back

BTW locals are saying the rainy season is changing. Today 10/7/19 was the first day with rain since we got here four days ago. The food is awesome. My favorite is the spicy onion soup with chicken

What he didn't tell you is you can't flush tissue down the toilet. There is a waste basket situated by the toilet. I noticed in Belize City drainage ditches where sewage ran along the side of the streets. Sounds unpleasant but it is still a beautiful country. I got to experience Mayan ruins, snorkeling in Caye Caulker, and attended the Carnival for Independence Day in Orangewalk. Can't wait to go again.

'Caulker' and 'caulk' are clearly and particularly pronounced in the south of England, in 'received pronunciation'- and there's the hint, the memory of that, in Belizean pronunciation, with a vowel sound we still share, which doesn't quite exist in American English. Imagine pronouncing 'co', as in 'coworker', but with an 'hwe' Its somewhere between 'co' and 'caw'. Combine pronouncing 'oar' and 'awe' (without sounding like you're from the Bronx!). If you're American... Yeah, no, sorry; that's probably not it. :)
