I love Vermona products and this'd be my dream synth. Vermona is a small company but they make their synths by all handmade. Vermona sounds probably great as Moog.
Hi CrazyHorse Thanks for watching and the comment! I am just working on a few projects and will get some footage up when I get the chance. I was on the fence about getting one. You could get a Prophet '08 for the same price and would probably have more functionality. However, there was something that drew me in about the PERfourMER. I like the filters compared to the later Prophets. You can get some more vintage sounds due to the controls for each voice. Sounds more drifty which gives it more character. Some may correct me on it but I think that it can sound like a Jupiter in some ways. I don't mind the syncing of settings between voices. You can sync the LFO between them too. This make it a little easier. I find you can get more creative when you don't have the presets in front of you. I don't own any analogs that map controls to one pot or have presets. I find more sounds this way and its more fun! I will get some more footage up when I can. Is there anything in particular that you want to see? PS. I accidentally click on your comment as spam and don't see a way to reverse it. I read online that it sound't affect anything unless a bunch of people. Sorry :P
BEAUTIFUL!!!! I'm a fan of the Oberheim 4-Voice but I cannot afford one. This is the closest true analog versions I've come across and it looks as though a few problems may have been solved on this one.
Nice vid! I'm glad I came across this. Yeah, not many poly vids with it. I subscribed to your channel since you seem to be actively posting vids with the PerFourmer. I'm fairly new to synths, but I have a tough time getting the sounds I'm after compared to my SE-1X & Minitaur. I'm looking forward to more vids as I'll be using them as tutorials.
magic !!! each time i stumble across that vid doing something else, i think to myself what's this godly track, ambient Aphex Twin or Squarepusher ? I check, and i see it's that guy with his Perfourmer who made that epic track. I'm jealous, i could not get something as beautiful out of mine.
ArchieMusicCanada You're welcome. There is a sweetness to the Perfourmer isn't there? I'm loving the sounds I'm getting from it. Your track really said it all without saying a word. It's really not hard to dial in these warm CS-80-like string/brass pads or a super fat Model-D sound in Unison mode. I know the Prophet 6 is back on the scene and destined to be the next big analog polysynth but in all the demos I've heard, it seems the Perfourmer sounds bigger with 4 VCOs than the Prophet does with 12. I also like having 100% control over each VCO.
Absolutely fantastic! One question, could you make a video with some different pads in it from the perfourmer? I'm looking for a analog poly synth, especially for SFX and Pads. I have heard enough SFX coming from the perfourmer, but no clear pads yet. Hope you can help me out!
Hi, Would you mind posting more PerFourmer videos? I am not sure whether or not I should buy one. I'm not a huge fan of other polyphon analogs since most map multiple parameters to a dial and I just hate it. I prefer the controlls of (for example) the sub phatty, where every dial controlls one parameter. Nice video btw.
Hi, nice video, great sound ! Do you programme all the 4 synth on the same midi channel or with different channel ? Because i don't understand how you build the sequence, i just see on all your video you choose the P1 mode. Thanks
+Spydercocaine There is a global tuning for all 4 VCOs and then individual tuning. Very easy to tune with the A440 switch. You put it in poly mode and tune each vco to the tone or you can just use a tuner if you want. The individual tuning knobs are very sensitive but once tuned, it rarely needs to be adjusted. Mine has been stable after 5 hours of continued use and even after turning it on and off.
hi, i just got my perfourmer a few days ago- your videos were the main reason behind it- and i'm wondering if you can fill me in on how you sequenced this polyphonically. i've got an arturia beatstep which i use as a sequencer, but it only lets me input one note per step. i've also got logic, which i see you mention in the comments below, but not sure, again, how to do it polyphonically. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
beatstep can't do polyphony it can only sequence two mono voices. zaquencer is a not-too expensive means of doing polyphonic sequencing but i'd check on the specifics as i don't know all too much about how this synth does midi
mijmar67 I have one arriving Monday . Also based on this video , amongst others ,there are not many with tutorials , which hopefully means that none is vital to understanding how it works!! I had an Analogue solutions fusebox for a week recently but found it a bit raw sounding .It had more features in a sense than the V p4 but cumbersome to use , an arpeggiator and a step seq of sorts , 3 gritty oscillators , monophonic and monaural output lfo , multimode filter hp lp bp but overall a one-trick pony in my opinion. I find if a device has ''additional'' features sometimes they are not as flexible , or as useful as if it were separate , if you see what I mean, a B step pro is a much better step sequencer to use externally than a built in version as the built -in one will be more basic and possibly a bit of a gimmicky add-on. I have swapped the fusebox for the Vermona and I am sure it is a better all round buy , also 200 pds cheaper for the Midi-only version. I have a B step pro and a Digitakt with the elektron sequencer so it should be a good combination. here's hoping I am right. I will get back to you if it is. John Horrobin
Seriously considering buying one of these - any downside to the instrument? There's always pro's and con's to every synth just wondering what are the weak areas if any of this synth?
Hey Derek! Thanks for watching. The PERfourMER's biggest weakness would be not having global control over things like filters and envelopes. However, this I believe is one the PERfourMER's strengths as you can get some more unique sounds out of it. When applying resonance to the filters, you loose a little bit of fatness and depth but it all depends on the sound that you are after. If it is something in your scopes and you are able to get your hands on one, I would recommend one as it makes a good addition to your studio. It is not an all around synth that can be your goto but it definitely has its uses!
Derek Jones I concur with ArchieMusicCanada on his comments. To add some points: 1) I would have the filters switchable to Band Pass and High Pass, currently it is a 24DB Low Pass filter only but it does sound great. 2) I would have two separate Envelope Generators (one for the amp, one for the filter) as is you can use the EG for either amp or filter plus you can blend them together but it would be a welcome addition to be able to tweak both individually. 3) I wish the noise was blendable on each VCO and not a notch selection. In poly mode it does little good to have one VCO belting out noise, so it becomes something you only use in unison or duophonic mode. ---but really, these are minor gripes that in no way eclipse how good the Perfourmer sounds. I look at it as a cross between a 4-Voice, CS-50 (with some CS-80 features) and a Model-D. It's a huge sounding synth too, really captures that Moog fatness.
I have a A4 and it has a learning curve , much deeper , but small screen and mind bogglingly unorthodox in places. I have a p4 on order , it appeals to me due to its hands - on nature and immediacy. Entirely different from the A4 and in my opinion a better sound and more immediate, for playing on the fly - less tedious to use.
This sounds glorious.. Looking forward to getting one, but I'm still a little confused about how the PERfourMER is sequenced. I'm still waiting for my Cirklon (hardware sequencer) which will arrive late summer, I stopped working with Ableton, will there be another way to sequence this synth? Like program/record parts into it? Or does it have to have an ongoing sequence feeding it? (i.e. wait for my Cirklon)
I think there are some built in sequences, (second nob down far right). Mines in the post and getting the cirklon in May hopfully..... (rub of hands), lets do this!
There are some built in sequences however I am using sequences I built in Logic and sending over MIDI. You can get a version of the PERfourMER that has CV control.
ArchieMusicCanada hi Archie! Hey just a quick question re: sending sequences via logic - is this one part of midi or do you have bass notes and the higher notes getting sent through different midi channels to each OSC?
Hey Man! Great to see some proper testing of the perfourmer! Im wondering how you are sending midi to the perfourmer? Im a logic user, but haven't found a way to send midi yet...
Hi Thanks for watching and commenting! In Logic 9 I used a little bit more complicated MIDI Environment for all my synths. I just recently switched to Logic X and have it setup a little simpler. It can be setup the same in both versions, I just happened to change my workflow. I just have a simple External instrument set up on a track for each external synth. I configure the corresponding MIDI interface (I have an RME FF800) and corresponding port to the synth. The PERfourMER is very simple to configure the port. You select the MIDI channel from the selector knob, then hit the trigger button on the desired voices that you want to use that channel. Simple on off. You can have each voice on the PERfourMER communicate on its own channel if desired. I then have an output of the PERfourMER patched to an Audio track in Logic for Printing and effects. Hope that this helps! Cheers, -Archie
Mads Vadsholt No Problem! Your are more than welcome. One thing that I forgot to mention. With the later configuration, I sometimes have to go into the global MIDI preferences and reset MIDI drivers. Also, I may have to go to the external instrument input and select another MIDI Device and flip back to my desired one sometimes. Kinda a PITA compared to my system before that always worked but it could be something else in my current setup causing my woes. Cheers Archie
I do not have the CV/gate version. If you have midi to CV converters, there is 4 CV inputs in the back. Possible but it wouldn't be something that I would do. MIDI is easier in this case.

I feel more inspired working on the Vermona compared to a Prophet 08, for example. To reiterate, i have never used the A4 but perhaps you can get more varieties of sound out of it. For me, less is more. Cheers!
@@ArchieMusicCanada would it be able to do this type of poly sequence on a korg/behringer monopoly or Moog matriarch? because they have 4x VCOs and the monopoly has different trigger options. I'm asking cause that one's cheaper
For me this is one of the greatest videos of a synth performance on UA-cam. Superb mate.
Such a strong build of harmonics... The Perfourmer really sounds sweet and beefy.
I love Vermona products and this'd be my dream synth. Vermona is a small company but they make their synths by all handmade. Vermona sounds probably great as Moog.
This is one of the best sounds I’ve heard on UA-cam. Period.
Big salut from France.
Vinz.
It sounds beautiful, in the real context of beauty
Nice nice nice! Dramatic chords. This is a deep machine, even when the channels alone are quite simple. Haven't touched the surface yet, myself.
I keep coming back for this, just brilliant. 🤗
make a fucking track with that melody its an order.
please
Before I got my PerFourMer, I must’ve watched this 10 times. So good. If you turned this into a track, I’d love to hear it! Beautiful progression.
Superb, including the slight detune!

absolutly best Vermona PERfourMER video ever !!!
une des plus belle démo de Perfourmeur !!
J'adore !!!
I kept on returning to this video until i bought my own PerFourmer. Therefore: thank you for that incredible sonic demonstration! :)
ParalysedGekko still like it?
this vid will be the reason why i will buy one :-)
Can't stop listening, this is awesome!
Hey, I just bought a perfourmer after watching this video. Can't wait to work with it
So tempting to get this, great little synth!
Something real special about vermona modules! Really cool stuff!
Gorgeous melodies, sound and demo all in one :)
you 're so right. perfoumer's video on you tube are only about effects.
in this video we hear the polyphony of the instrument.
Yes its perfect demonstration of all four voices !

Nice ! I hear a wind quartet in some parts !
Getting lost. That’s what it’s really all about. Love it. I’m off to have a word with my bank manager
Wonderful.
the first time a synth demo sounded so beautiful. Not finishing this track / getting it out would be a crime against humanity....
My dream synth ❤
This sounds holy
Still one of my best, all time.
very nice
La crema perfetta!!
So greaaat,..its cooooool Archie!

well done!

Impressive. Sounds like something Philip Glass could have recorded... if he had used synthesizers
Bonjour avec quoi tu séquence ton vermona ?
thinking to get one. Hows can you tune it fast correctly?
Spydercocaine I don't have too many issues tuning. I usually just use the A440 tone on the unit and mono each voice to tune. Matter of a minute.
