If you want most benefits from rose hips do not boil them. To make a tea - crush them and let them soak (I like to put them in empty teabag) in warm water (max 50deg celsius) overnight. You can warm it before serving, but again no more than 50C. This way you don't destroy vitamin C. (my two cents ;-) Cheers from Czech Republic!

@@TheHoneystead You are very welcome! Also you can let them sit in cold water, it just take longer. BTW your channel inspired me to start beekeeping (hopefully this spring!) with my daughter(5yrs). This will be nice father and daughter activity. But there is so much things to learn first! Merry Christmas!

Definitely put them in a Muslim bag or reusable tea bag. They have little hairs ( like stag horn sumac) that will annoy your throat. A lot.

Aside from herbs, massage therapy really helps a lot for carpal tunnel. 💚 Make a herbal salve and massage it on your wrist all the way up the arm and around the shoulder and neck. 💚

Fantastic endeavor!!! Healing is the noblest of of the arts, and herbalists are the cream of the healers. Herbalism is vast, but interesting and fulfilling. Your approach is solid. Allopathic medicine has its purpose, but good to see folks turning to herbalism which provides a far greater nutritional value to the body and spirit. Best of luck to your mom and you!!!

Before I forget it I have paused at 11:14, I learned that carpal tunnel is also associated with the thyroid. I took injections of cortisone for 3 years to stop the excruciating, every 4 months until I was treated for multinodular goiter, and the pain disappeared. My doctor said a new article discussed the effects of thyroid on the carpal tunnel. With gardening season right around the corner, a list of good herbs and plants including an easy to grow rose for hips would be awesome! Maybe even in phases of the most basic to a more advanced list! This was very interesting, thank you both. Merry Christmas, Brigitte, and Kaylee! 💞🎄🙏

Hello. I recently came across Yalls page maybe a week ago. They more research I do, the more I come back to Yalls page. I really appreciate y’all sharing what and how y’all are learning. My roommate has heart issues and I’m being so careful what not to give him. Also, I do this with my books, compare, find common denominators. Write it down. Then later I go to my journal and cohesively rewrite my findings for later easier access.

Never to old to learn & it looks like you have your work cut out for you. Study study study....... I went back to school when my son was born, it took me 10 yrs to complete HS but I wanted to do it even though I had my GED, graduated in 2000, I think it helped my kids to see how important learning is. I never had to push them to do homework, get up & head out the door to go to school. They both graduated w/ high honors & honors in college. Proud of them. But herbs are so interesting.

I think the School that did a study and PAPER was Harvard (??) Eastern Ivy League School with Medical College??...pretty sure Yale or Harvard. WORTH looking into. NO MORE Chronic Sinusitis or blocked breathing at night!! My scar tissue from past surgeries is also diminished

I was really hoping massage would have been represented in the books you are learning from… carpal tunnel can also be helped with massage. Often times massage therapists give clients simple techniques they can do on themselves to help their issue. As an herbalist you could make a topical for your client to use while they do those techniques. 😉
How exciting to be starting out on this new adventure and what a bonding experience to have with one another! 😊

I had one or two old versions of some of those books. They were part of my college class in Public & Community Health. Many remote and isolated communities are still highly focused on herbal medicine. Unfortunately, some of them have adverse reactions and outcomes when mixed with prescription medications. I lost my books in flooding after/from a hurricane and I often wish I still had them. Natural medications are where all of our prescription medications started. It's such a huge topic! Have fun and don't get overwhelmed with it. You are the nightmare of every synthetic drug company. You have knowledge of medications that may work better and cost a lot less than what they are trying to get you to use instead. I cant wait until you cover things like improving and healing the stomach and it's flora!

I would love to know more about herbalism. I have a lot of issues and take a lot of prescription medicine and I don’t like being dependent on them to control the pain from carpal tunnel, osteoarthritis, colitis, degenerative disk disease, bone spurs and terribly sensitive skin. Not to mention allergic to a lot of medicine.
I wish I could learn like y’all are.
Prayers and Blessings as y’all continue your journey. 🙏🏻💗🌹🌺

I recently found your channel and am watching older videos~~catching up! So...I'm commenting a bit late. I love your approach as I'm watching you two work through your school.
I loved your comments about suddenly noticing herbs growing around you which have been known to have medicinal value for respiratory illnesses. When I first became interested in herbal medicine I found out about mullein. We foraged some that was past its prime and had only a few viable leaves and a seed stalk with maybe 5 old flowers clinging to it. I kept what leaves that I could and laid the seed stalk over an old stump in our yard~~I had planned to dip it in wax and show my kids how those stalks used to be used as candles/torches. I forgot about the stalk. The winds blew, the latter rains came, the winter blew in....and the next spring, I found small mullein rosettes beginning to grow here and there in our yard. Over the years, I allowed and encouraged them to self seed and grow everywhere. Now we have a great stash of mullein each year~~right when we need it due to Covid and folks having lung issues. I believe that the Lord sends us what we need, when we need it if we will open our eyes to the natural world.

I am on my second round of antiobotics and have taken 5 a day for 10 days. At 76, I was in bed 5 days and I am feeling so weak and taking so long to get my strength back and the swelling in my heel. My husband was recently (less than 10 days) diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. So many conflicting information out there (follow the money trail to see who’s sponsoring the info) I believe that good gut health & a good anti-inflammatory diet will help him. I have a some information for ya’ll. If a woman has an IUD inserted or even maybe any birth control implanted or maybe even the pills but mostly inserted or implanted and she’s showing signs of inflammation OR musculoskeletal disorders those are questions to ask anyone who is suffering from that.
I had iud inserted & 6 months later I was unemployed from my new job due to carpal tunnel. Then tendinitis. Then De Quervain Syndrome. Onto osteoarthritis.
My whole body fell apart & had 6 surgeries in 2 year span. If I knew what I know now, I would’ve tried herbalism & minerals uptake.
Just wanted to let yall know that in case you find that group of women coming in with inflammation & disorders. IUD has 5 years worth of hormones that can possibly leach into your system too fast or all at once! I took Mirena. I tried suing them, but at the time of all these Dr visits I never got a correlation from the use of iud. So it was hard to prove. But im pretty confident it was the iud. Healthy as a fiddle until I had that procedure.
    Very useful info

Just my opinion I believe if we use the herbs that God has given us to use we could eliminate a lot of health issues. I hear okra is good for lowering blood sugar for diabetics. Put raw okra in jar of water place in the refrigerator overnight and sip on during the day I been wanting to try it. You may want to research before trying this remedy.
