I am also a Massage Therapist with focus more on Deep Tissue/Trigger Points. I just recently discovered St. John's Wort works for sciatica. Not only for my clients, my daughter and I both suffer from such pain. I've read in other books that there are specifics on harvesting the flowers and making a tincture along with the oil to combine for a remedy.

Thank you, Kaylee! I made a St. John's Wort salve a couple of years ago, and it was wonderful! I need to try it on my husband when he has nerve pain in his knee. I have "mashed potato elbow" from whipping them by hand at camp this summer! Oo, ouch! Maybe I'll use it on that.

Yes! Herbal skincare day! Lard vs tallow? Not entirely sure of the difference and have heard that tallow is very close to our skin's natural processes. Curious about lard though.

Take a 3oz bottle of some of this with jojoba oil and go see a massage therapist for a real massage before you go to a chiropractor. I'm a massage therapist and recently started infusing oils with herbs. I didn't think about St.Johns Wort for a topical pain relief. Cool idea.

I clicked on this video because of the thumbnail about nerve pain. I have bad pain and pins and needles in my hands. Completely annoying. I have been supplementing to find a remedy... when you mentioned the scientific name I was thinking that it sounded familiar... I am taking it in a BOIRON Homeopathic formula. I am sure your formula would work better but for now trying this. I will have to get some St Johns Wort. Not sure if it will grow in my zone but our season is ending in the next few weeks. Frost is a couple weeks away. Thanks, Kaliegh, for sharing this. Love your videos. I have learned so much from you. Haven't seen your mom in a video lately. Hope she is okay. Grandma too.

I have a chronic muscle spasm on one side of my back. I had been going to a message therapist (years back) and learned something very interesting and helpful. He told me that when your back is tense and hurts you tend to 'protect' the back muscles by tensing your peck muscle and this causes a vicious circle. He taught me the following.....I will try to describe it the best I can. Stand in a doorway or wall corner (i.e. end of a hallway). Place your arm, straight out to the side of your body, (the one that's on the same side as your sore back) to shoulder height on the door frame/wall corner. You want just over half of your arm to be against the wall (so just above the elbow). Place your legs shoulder width apart with knees slightly bent. Then twist your torso, at the waist, forward while exhaling and hold that position for a few seconds. Without releasing that position take a deep breath and twist some more while exhaling. You can do this several times in a row. You should feel that peck muscle pull and may hurt a bit. This helps open up that peck muscle which allows the back muscles to help settle down. I do this several times a day as needed. Not sure if I explained that well enough. Maybe this might help.

Thank you for the 'real time' bottling up video. YUP I too make a mess and then use the 'mess' on a cotton rag and rub me aches and pains. I also made a tincture, your thoughts on using it topically for pain, varicose veins, scraps etc? I like the tincture topically because sometimes I don't want the oil to get on my clothing or furniture. Do you know what constituents the vodka tincture has vs. an olive oil infusion? As far as your achy body...I get it. This is one of your busiest times in the gardens. You have to harvest and dry so many herbs NOW. All the herbs are shouting "ME FIRST'. Only so much time in a day. Take care of your awesome body dear lady.

When using the funnel, I tape a toothpick to the part that goes into the bottle to allow it to breathe when you're pouring into it. It flows straight through then and doesn't try to bubble back up the funnel which means you can pour into it faster and not spill.

Please make an herbal skincare day video !!! I'm personnaly using a homemade tallow cream for my whole body including my face. I have no wrinkles at all and I'm 42 years old ! I had wrinkles when I was 35 and using high-end conventionnal products (full disclosure: I changed my diet for carnivore and the cream is not the only factor in my rejuvination). Moreover, I use my homemade tallow - coco soap to wash my hair and they are lushious, soft and thick. I find this subject very interesting and I can't wait to hear what you use were and why.

My sister is retired massage therapist, and she used a number of different oils in her practice. Now she grows lavender, and distills it for the essential oil. She also has bee hives on her property, and the bees love the lavender, and the Dutch clover planted between the lavender rows.

A lot of it in my neck and shoulders.
I have a Saint John's Wart plant, but it has grown very little after at least three years and new flowers yet. Is there something special I need to do to help it grow?
If you would be willing to sell me a small bottle or tin, I would be glad to pay you for it, so that I can get it and use it quickly.
If I were to order it from somewhere, do you have a suggestion where to get it?

Getting a massage before going to the chiropractor is usually more beneficial! If your muscles are too tight and you get adjusted, the adjustment doesn’t usually last as long as it should because the tight muscles pull things back out of alignment

You want to use dried herbs and flowers for infusing oils. Water and oil don't mix.

Now you should call your husband, take off your shirt, and have him pour the platter onto your back. Turn off the camera first.
