So there is a CHAOS 1.3 update for VS tomorrow, I was gonna batch record a bunch of stuff today (Wednesday), but maybe I'll do like 1 episode to upload tomorrow, then Friday we'll have some 1.3 content? Not sure if the CHAOS update is specifically aimed at people who have completed everything already...let me know your thoughts.
Apologies for the out of place question Mr. Odd, but do you have an update on when you're planning to continue the Dead Space live streams? It's been great so far! Thank you!
@@ChristopherOdd RNG might screw you out of an item that you want if you pass on it. Upgrades will always show up. EDIT: also, I love every time you discover a new evolution.
Speaking of "unkillable" enemies (you mentioned them in two videos now): All enemies are killable except one very special one that you have not yet encountered. The issue is that you sometimes run very low damage builds and encounter enemies with HUGE healthpools.
O', I still 'member the good, more innocent, times when our boy here encountered his first few blue-glowing bats (the first-minute boss) in Mad Forest; believing that they were invulnerable.
It's really cool to see how everything seems to be changing and evolving at the same pace as new elements are being unlocked and discovered. It makes it feel like every new step that is taken in the game actually has an overall efect in different stages, enemies and so on. That's just very cool!!!!!
The evolved Song of Manna works REALLY well with a specific Arcana that creates AOE damaging zones. Once you unlock all the Arcanas, you can create builds around specific combinations!
$@+#&@!!!!! He's literally commented on killing a water reaper with Penta previously and he's still "I don't think that will kill him." 🤦 Literally gave it to him in 3 out of 4 consecutive levels like "hey, you can use this for get rid of that guy" and he just ignores it. *Sigh*
@@xyex tip: Dont give direct answer to things. He's not looking at that for obvious reasons. If he fogot it, so be it, it sucks but he'll find it again.
All the chests in Cappella Magna can evolve weapons. ;) Also, it's probably not ideal for content purposes but it might be worth it to check the map more often if you are moving a lot. Not missing out on a vacuum orb can be huge.
Odd, I don't know if you have noticed at all, but there are some great tunes in the game with a couple of variants extra for each song that you can set up for each stage. There are even references to other franchises like Castlevania and Killer Instinct in the composition. I think you would appreciate them, just a hunch. Keep up the great let's play!
Hyper helps with getting to those outside items easier (the rings and the arrows) plus it'll mean more enemies to level faster. Not just the tiktok attention span. Highly recommend getting some of the arcana unlocked (the ones you thought were songs on the unlock screen) When you took the birds on this stage... that was secretly a good choice...
Hurry mode is tougher, like you said the math doesn't work out. That's definitely a mode used more for grinding later on, when you have ways of being stronger without relying on levels as much
Spoiler for how to deal with the Blue Reaper: . . . Use the Rosary pickups in Capella Magna to kill any of the reapers. Blue Reaper spawns exactly at 5:00, so you're gonna want to position yourself near a Rosary prior to that.
To get rid of the blue reaper at 5:00 minutes (only on this map), you usually wait at one of the rosaries that spawn a little south on this map and nuke the blue reaper with one of those.
Ah, too bad you forgot that Penta kills the water reaper. In one of your firsts runs you did it and even commented on it 😁 I love the series! Keep up the amazing work! 🙏
Hyper Mode (awesome) - Enemies and player both move faster, levels get different buffs like increased gold Hurry Mode (lame) - Level lasts half as long
Hurry mode is basically a shorter run with harder difficulty. The waves comes twice more frequently, but you level only 25% faster. It's good to unlock stuff faster, as you spend(almost) twice less real time to complete the level, but you must be rather good to handle that.
For myself I prefer the longer videos that are around an hour (1 long run and 2 fails or 2 long runs) in length compared to shorter videos. Just my preference, has no say on yourself or your recording style. Your great man 🎉
Loving these episodes just as they are, Mr. Odd. Didn't have time to play the game and only really got to see people with most or all the unlocks play until now, and it's great to see some actual VS discovery in your vids, not just the others' meme-fest dopamine injections with all the secrets and power-ups unlocked. Some of us appreciate the journey - ignore the haters :) ...that said lol please the turn the damage numbers back on, I need the hit.
I was so excited that this run was set up perfectly to unlock the hidden character right from the very first weapon choices, then it was so maddening when Odd stopped just short of actually unlocking it and started walking away! I know he had no way of knowing, but still it was heartbreaking.
In Hyper (NOT HURRY MODE) the enemies, as well as you, move faster, enemies moving faster towards you mean more kills, more kills means more xp, you could easily level up to the hundreds
Go grab the silver ring just to have it for possible combinations. Also, please say which reward you pick, I'm having a hard time seeing what you select sometimes. :) Not a big deal but it would be nice to avoid rewinding (If I bother to...).
Some non-spoilery advice: notice where the light sources spawn and path to them when you're struggling. A chicken, orb, cross, or clock can change your run.
Loving the thumbnails for this series. I remember you said in a stream you were trying AI generated for a while, is this still the case. Either way dude, they are awesome.
Some of the arcane cards are invaluable and/or game changing. I usually pick "IV The Awake" first as it's free lives... think about that. Then usually "VIII Mad Groove", it's almost cheat mode, every 2 minutes ALL the existing pickups, gems, weapons & items are respawned around YOU.
Archana are far from useless. They just don't have as much of a impact as say evolving your weapons. They are Modifiers.2 Really cool cards are GAME KILLER (don't take it at the start of a run) and the other one looks like a TREE, it attracts items in the lvl to you every 2 mins. The more you unlock the more options you have, but free to do those off screen if you want. Maybe if you do Hyper mode with a bunch of characters you could get a bunch to lvl 50 in one video.
Good Run, but bad choices. Capella Magna on its own is manic, but having a skull at this stage makes it even worse. The reapers are there for a reason and you have to kill them..what comes after is a surprise. Penta or high damage aoe weapons and spinach help here. Can't wait for you to try this stage again
He probably got a picture of the character, added in some corresponding words, and then batch created twenty images to find someone useable while he did something else. AI has rapidly advanced in the last 7 months.
@Alaberti Ah ha, thank you! And thanks to everyone who mentioned AI art. I can't believe that didn't even occur to me. Old man brain comes too young. :)
That was one of the harder lvls in the game with tougher enemies then say forest or library.. So its tough to do with the cursed items.. Skull/Torronas Box.. Then again u didnt know Song of Mana needed skull til now. So its ok. The Blue Reaper can be killed its just all reapers have alot of hp. Also Song of Mana is kinda like Onion. Very effective and cool early area damage as it goes up and down but it isnt as good a damage dealer as some other weapons mid and late game. It has great range but lower base damage. Its slow is cool tho. Most of your prob on this run was just cuz the lvl is more difficult.
I think you're being too ambitious. By a lot. You search for a relic in a hard stage. Pick a starting weapon you don't know how to evolve and then get the birds and try to get the guns (i.e. two of the harder evolutions). You fall behind in damage by minute 3 because your weapons are all over the place. You need to focus on one thing at a time. Get one character with a strong starting set up and good scaling. Like Pugnala. Do nothing but leveling her and her weapons until you kill everything with ease. Then get more weapons you know how to use and evolve. Bonus points if those come with synergies. Like if you get the spellbinder for the Bible, look for other weapons that benefit from duration like Song of Mana or Runetracer. Also, do yourself a favor and get the attractorb (the actual passive, not the 1 time pick up) in nearly every run. You leave way too much stuff on the ground. Getting this passive will probably double or triple your level per minute ratio. And if you have all this set up, explore and go looking for relics and stuff. Just don't try everything at once.
yea so.. Capella is endgameish content that came out later Bone Zone is your farming area...... Trying to explain this non spoilery.... There is a character you can unlock currently that will open up ways to get eggs easier You also have everything you need to kill a Reaper also Again letting yea know you have the things, not gonna spoil how to get em..... Odd, NONE of the enemies are unkillable in Vampire Survivors, some just have ALOT of health. For example, the Reaper that pops up at 30mins has 655,550 HP, and he scales with your characters level if i recall. Still if you can get the Evolved Laural and the normal Lancet, even he Can't kill you. Also as previously noted, the Stone Mask, Tandorra's Box and Tirigiri are the only things that haven't Evolved anything yet. Just to narrow down your search.
It's less about the attention span and more of getting to your desired levels quicker for the unlocks. Getting lvl 80 in a non hyper mode stage is almost impossible unless you got RNG blessed.
About hyper mod and so called tik tok generation, i don't think that you can post anything valuable within 30 seconds.. and it is interesting since there is no place to elaborate on the topic. I do much more prefer longer and more refined videos. Since its hard t love cooking recpies that only exist to look nice and other shit of this kind. Please odd stay the same, stay like we love you.
I disagree with this, bur Spinach is a great item. Spinach is only really good for low dmg items in Odd's predicament and loses value over account progression. So while for Song it is a GREAT choice, his other weapons should have been able to make up for it. Unfortunately the Drowner made leveling alot harder for him.
