Infinite Corridor damage is so high because of the last reaper. It is fine otherwise, but it is really for the huge enemies: when it tics it reduces enemy health by half (as described) so a final reaper with (example_ 80million health drops to 40, 20, 10, 5, 2.5, 1.25, .63, .32, .16 on consecutive hits. your other weapons will eventually catch up with enough damage to defeat it.
I'm pretty sure that's not true, as I have never had anything get even close to Infinite Corridor's DPS, except for upgraded Pentagram (2.4 M vs 2.2 M last run, IIRC). The rest is usually 100x worse than that, which doesn't mean other weapons are useless, as without them I wouldn't be able to evolve Lancet. Also, some of those provide good utility functions.
It's the actual description of the weapon, and demonstrated through use to match it's description. "The Reaper's health pool is set at 655,350 times the player's level when it spawns.". Infinite Corridor will halve the health of everything it hits each tic of the weapon, so it does decent damage to normal enemies but many are 1 shot by other weapons while this can never actually kill them: it's average damage isnt great. but then reaper appears with potentially hundreds of millions of health - and it loses half that per tic (which counts as IC damage).
@@tuesss i've killed the reaper on a ascension, single weapon run using the guns. the evolved guns at around level 1000 get insane with the amount of damage per second. also when curse gets into the thousands, the reaper moves so fast it actually can't even hit you so you can afk kill it despite it being buffed by 1000 levels and thousands of curse.
Not "Yes, absolutely", but "No, absolutely not". A chest that drops before 10:00 in a level that requires 10:00 for evolutions does not evolve a weapon if you wait to pick it up after that point of time.
37:50 you made the correct choice. The combined guns scale with revives. The more revives you have, the more beams it shoots. For instance, getting 3 revivals from the Arcana gave the weapon 3 more beams, increasing its damage output by roughly 33% (9 beams up to 12)
One useful thing to note. If you pick up an egg in a run, whether from killing a guardian, the red death, or the shop it will not affect the run that you are on. It will only affect future runs with that character.
31:15 - Don't be afraid of curse buildup. Once you get your weapons evolved, you do want curse buildup as that gives you more enemies and thus more xp.
23:47 you should 100% have picked attractor here. 1) because it's by far the strongest item for increasing your xp gain, and 2) because that would have been your 6th natural passive, so you could switch to focusing on running directly to the floor passives.
19:40 farming patterns: basically, small circles till you get some good weapons, then make your way over to the floor passive that you want to get first, then back to small circles until you get your 6th passive from levels, then make a bee-line for all the floor passives, then set up camp and do circles.
agreed, you've definitely been underplaying the power of the attractorb. With some weapons you can evolve and have an extra passive slot left, attractorb is nearly always top of my list.
19:30 the way I farm is, move a lot towards stage items when there’s the lull in enemy numbers between big waves and farm when you’re getting swarmed. Very organic IMO
I love how you were making a case about how things should always be done in a certain way except of course when there is a reason not to and then you immediately get the second duplicator upgrade proving the whole point of what you were talking about.
I've said it in comments to some of the earlier videos, back when you were only starting survivor career, but you should pay more attention to the items on the stage. They can be added on top of usual 6 power-ups, which allows for some really powerful combinations, if you plan your other level up choices accordingly. Also, general understanding of what power-ups are best for each weapon is good. Some weapons literally go to the next level with the right modifiers - even without evolutions.
@@ChristopherOdd I think the main issue is that you aren't quite used to reaching these levels consistently. Not picking the attractorb upgrade does reduce the levels as it's even better then crown, but you did get the main alternative this run. You got a new arcana called Mad Groove that you should check out the description of as it's awesome.
Coming back after the end - definitely AWESOME run hehe Nice job. I agree - it can be important to look at the buffing items as not just what you need to evolve something but like he said, what can boost a weapon's effectiveness even if it won't help evolve anything. Some of the folks that really go nuts just have one or two weapons but then the right cards and an assortment of the buffing items that improve those weapon's characteristics. But you're doing awesome and as I said in another comment, play however you enjoy it most because videos (from any content creator) are better when the person is enjoying what they are doing because you can tell and it rubs off. :-)
Few comments: The infinite corridor is the huge rainbow circle that appeared after you evolved, the individual lance beams are just freezes as normal Skip is far less useful than banish Always take "Always floor chicken". Check the tooltip next time you get there, it will take coins if you're full health. You made a comment last video about "unlocking songs", all of the numbered items in the unlock (like Mad Groove that you unlocked this video that summons everything on the map to you every 2 minutes) are more arcanas for the purple chest.
14:58 I love that idea. The perfect upgrade path. I like that you dont know everything. But there will get a point where you can really have fun looking at upgrade paths. "The perfect build" its fun! Also: I would usually get the crown or attract orb unless i was going for a specific Build. Love these videos man!
19:40 - When there is a lot of enemies coming at you (and I either can't walk through them or have the santa water), I would stay in one spot but then do little circles so anything that fires depending on facing shall hit in all directions.
24:08 you should actually grab the second tiramisu here for a very good reason: you do not have any natural revives. If you were to die, the trinket you need to upgrade the guns would disappear. It disappears when it gets used up. I am unsure if it would come back again because you didn't get the second upgrade, but there is no reason to chance mistiming the powerful upgrade on an unlucky death (you are quite powerful at this point but still, unlucky is unlucky)
1 - That was a great run. Good job!👍 2 - I only use Banish when there is literally nothing that I want out of the options. There will be some moments when you have 1 weapon/item slot left and you're desperately looking for something very specific to complete your build, and all you can do is rely on Banish/Reroll/Skip. Use them in that order - Banishes first to shrink the pool, Rerolls, then Skips. 3 - Empty Tome/Cooldown is king for most runs. Don't leave home without it. 4 - Maps have certain timers for when you can evolve weapons. Some from 10:00 bosses, some from 1:00 bosses. You can check the VS wiki for that if you're curious. 5 - Your "pathing" is to follow the exp gems. Unless you're playing in Bone Zone, you're bound to find a sucky orb drop at some point anyway, don't stress too hard about it. 6 - If the game is hard on your eyes, I suggest turning off Flashing VFX.
Red death + hyper mode is fun. Also I don't want to give too much away, but if you go back to Gallo (especially with Hyper mode on for the movement speed), my advice is to go South, all the way South.
I find that the attractorb is a must have if you are going to try to pickup all the ground items and be more mobile in general since you can bee-line to where you want to go and not miss out on much exp gems. Plus picking up the item that evolves the santa water is going to be useful in just about every run. La Bora is op. edit- should have waited until done with the video lol
15:25 you are trying to make a build decision and now that you have "unlocked" the rings and arrows it is the appropriate time for this advice. When you have decided to go Lancet and/or Laurel you can think of those as "free spaces" for trinkets as you have to pick theirs up off the ground. I personally like to use those spots for things like crown/armor/clover as those are for weapons I tend to not use but the trinkets can be very useful.
My usual build is Bible/Santa water/whip/Vento sacro/garlic/laurel, then when whips unite I pick up lancet. Relics obviously needed to evolve (attractob/spellbinder/hollow heart/pummerola) but I fill the other 2 spaces with crown and torrona's simply for their passive benefits. This gives me nutty healing and dmg to survive until I get shroud and corridor. Then I cruise to the 4 stage items and usually can be full build by 23-25 minutes. From there I sit and watch the chaos lol
I think you're still undervaluing Tome - decreased cooldown on ALL your weapons is super strong. There were a couple of times you pushed off a Tome pick - like early on when you were talking about "always" - when it would actually have been really good. It's a lot like duplicator, where its even more worth taking than a weapon, a lot of the time.
@23:57 I think gold fever extends when you pick up a gold coin/coin bag! i've played on levels where coins drop constantly and my highest gold fever got up to 14,000! enemies drop coins when you kill them in gold fever and those coins extend the timer a little, but picking up a natural source of gold boosts the length by more.
Half way through the video I thought of that tittle "I don't think I'll ever top this" or so. Immediatly thinking he might as well completely top that. And then you just said it yourself towards the end, lol!!!!! Besides, not sure if it was noticed or not, you also got the 6 Evos as that challange you also beat earlier. I was so hyped watching this!!!! Great learning and growth!!!!! Excellent series!!!!
I love watching your learning and discovery. One thing I want to note since you don't seem to pay much favor to: you like the infinite scaling characters, but the arcana that make area or duration fluctuate Also give every character 1% per level scaling. So taking those at the start can provide a lot of increase to those. As for patterns I like to work my way towards the map pickups I want most (maybe for evolutions) and then wait to pick it up until my slots are full. Then I grab that and work my way around to all the other upgrades I want (or secrets). Only once I'm done getting everything I want do I mostly stand still, doing circles in an area.
@17:28 while stage dependent, in mad Forrest it is only the chests that drop from bosses who show up starting at 10 minutes which can offer an evolution
Certain stages like the Mad Forest, the chests for bosses that spawn before the 10min mark will never evolve a weapon. In other stages, like Bone Zone, any chest can evolve a weapon.
@@MarquessBrownix5 in that video he was in a different map... In forest only the 1 minute boss chest allows an evo option before minute 10. It varies map to map
@Morelyn yeah. Someone else already pointed that out. And I think that's bad game design. Among other things this game never explains or obscures for no reason.
yes, absolutely proud! you didn't get discouraged by some of the backseating and just accepted the good advice and crushed it! i don't even play VS myself, but you make it very interesting to watch.
Beating the Reaper for the first time is always fun to watch. You spend all that time accepting your fate and then take control of your own destiny! At least until The Reaper's grandpa says "play times over!"
15:27 I think you made the right decision there, you only had one banish left, and all 3 of the items were something you might potentially want in the future with the knowledge that you will open up a weapon slot when the guns evolve, so using the banish would only hurt you later. On top of this I am a VERY big fan of the crown, not just for "I want to reach X level" challenges, but just because it makes you level up faster, which means your weapons and items get stronger faster and are ready to evolve faster, taking the crown as your first passive and levelling it up to max before anything else can make it so you ALWAYS have a weapon evolution ready for every single box that drops after the 10 minute mark, which is a ridiculous power boost. I will admit though, there is something that you haven't unlocked yet that makes it a more appealing choice, but I don't want to spoil it, all I will say is that when you get it then on every run you will want to keep levelling way past the point where you have anything left to upgrade, so having a crown makes this much easier.
Good run. Glad you got both the evolutions. As far as farming goes: Focus on killing first, collecting in between. On farm waves do 100% farming. On slow and hard to kill waves, do your map running. Before starting, plan a path you plan to take, whole map or half map? Like say the tower, get all the way to the top or bottom item. Once you get the the first item pickup, max your 12 slot build, then start grabbing the extra pickups. Def a good idea to use the pickups for evolutions, and max your build around those. I always have either crown or orb in a build, love having both. Love at least 1 hybrid defense\offense item like bibles or garlic. And don't start banishing until you get 3/4 choices and you want 0 of them, keep leveling if that is an option.
That strategy I use is that I plan which pickups I want to use before the run and then I try to get all of them as quick as possible. That way the extra stuff on the floor I can pick up for extra slots instead of using the regular ones. That is quite a power spike. I also find it hard to play without Santa Water and the Attract orb. The orb is just a great quality of life upgrade and the Santa water just does soo much damage passively.
Re farming patterns. I use gorgeous moon for every map, and try for at least one weapon that combines into 1 slot (birds, guns, whip) and I mostly take bible and garlic and use my random slot item as attract orb to stand and farm in a spot after basic building. It’s important to balance curse, the map, and growth. Also I highly recommend unlocking more arcanas. There are about 4 that are just outright better than the others at forming a build to direct your focus like divine bloodline, blood astronomia, beginning, serabande of healing, and arguably Gemini because it works well with other arcana. Also “seal” allows you to remove an item or weapon from the draw pool from the start screen.
The most delicious part of bullet hell games is the pathing. You’ve got good pathing instincts. Pathing is a gut instinct. You can gamify it but ultimately, your lizard brain is going to make the decision if you let it.
Congratulations, you found the combo to beat the red death :D The grey reaper is the only unkillable mob in the game. It comes after you kill the 30 minutes red reaper.
You dominated that run.. Great job Odd. Your learning and things are coming together which is cool too.. You noticed lightning ring doubled bible damage in half the time.. But the opposite was true in evolved form.. So in early game the chain lightning beat bible.. But mid to late game the evolved bible doubled evolved lightning in half the time. Overall, most damage went to Corridor, then evolved Bible, then evolved guns.. Corridor did 80 mill in like less then 5 minutes lmao
about chests: not sure if you have picked up on this but: chests are programmed to drop from specific enemies that are programmed to spawn at specific times. it is never random. this allows you to plan accordingly for evolutions.
if you chose a character that starts with the "Gemini" weapons. that's the best time to pick up the Gemini Arcana first, imo. That arcana basically acts as a duplicator for those weapons specifically. the benefits are most noticeable once you upgrade the weapons during the run.
Some new allies, including Death itself, I see. Exploring the world, and what it has to offer seems befitting an adventurer. Whatever makes you happy. That's the real endgame.
34:40 just after lamenting how you missed the red heart, you ran right past the hollow heart in the same way! The lesson: think about how you can efficiently run around the map to get ALL the power ups after you get your 6th natural passive. Yes, you want the gold ring and the silver ring, but maybe if you went gold ring to pummarola to spinach to metaglio to hollow heart to silver ring (whew, and breathe!) you'd only have had to run a *bit* further, but you'd have picked up three times as many items.
didn't even notice his friend - who he couldn't kill before in 22 minutes - dying after less than a minute :) there are 2 arcane card which pull every item including xp on the map to you, pick those as first drop during the game (reroll until you get it)
@30:33 "Where'd my friend go?" referring to the Ring Gaurdian thing that was following you. you actually killed it, it's what dropped that Egg you picked up. They drop those.
I beat the game yesterday. It's the first game I was dedicated to beating in a while. Thanks for discovering this gem for me. The only advice I have is to look at the unlock screen. Getting certain characters to lvl 80 unlocks rerolls. I won't say more than that, but they helped me make specific builds a lot easier!
I always either take the attractorb and max out ASAP, do the same with the pentagram, or use another relevant tool that I can't remember if you've unlocked yet. I said in an earlier comment that there were only a few actually unkillable enemies, and they'd be very obvious once you met them. You just met one. Buuuut that doesn't mean you can't go for longer than 31 minutes... There are ways 😌
I always try to focus on passives first that are not available as pickups so I can maximize the amount of stuff I have because it’s satisfying. Also up your curse in the power ups!
19:30 really just take attract orb and then you don’t need to move any particular way. One thing that could help you is fill up your slots first so you can pick up the extra items sooner.
If you want to significantly increase the rate at which you earn gold to unlock more power ups and so on, the two Arcanas you should definitely unlock are Disco of Gold and Wicked Season. Wicked Season is optional, but Disco of Gold is mandatory for gold farming.
10:52 - No, the chests don't automatically upgrade weapons at 10 minutes. The enemies that drop weapon upgrade chests only SPAWNS after 10 minutes in the forest. However: The Forest has the unique quirk in that the FIRST chest from the glowing bat that spawns at 1 minute WILL upgrade weapons. 26:00 - Torrona's does indeed evolve with something (somethingS in fact) but you haven't unlocked any of the weapons for it yet. Also: Congratulations on discovering the secret evolutions to absolutely destroy Reapers! Now you can go unlock everything else the game has to offer! Note: Killing the reaper before 31 minutes still counts as reaching 31 minutes, so don't worry about it!
Wow what a run. This is a well titled video! By far your best and not even close, absolutely amazing. Please google the order in which to buy powerups as min/maxing that is kind of important for your gold.
For farming, the main thing I've seen is to avoid edges when you have weapons that shoot in all directions, like gun (max dps, to max xp) and in general xp early is better than xp late (more time with more dps) I like focusing on vanishing enemies (waves espc, maybe barriers too) especially early, since otherwise it's xp you don't get.
This was such a cool run. Incredibly satisfying. I feel like every single decision you made was optimal in terms of maximizing your strength. Well done! As for the part I was forbidden to timestamp, can't say "Yes, absolutely" because I believe that you can only evolve weapons if the chest comes from a boss which SPAWNS after the time limit. So if the time limit (on this specific map) is 10 minutes. A boss that spawned at 9, wouldn't have been able to evolve it. Other maps have other limits and there are some exceptions (e.g. on this map, the 1-minute chest can evolve (if it drops instead of a gem) and then only after 10 mins). But the way to think about it is "does this chest drop from a boss that spawned after X minutes" rather than "Am I picking up this chest after X minutes". In terms of how to path correctly, ideally you'd try to kill as many enemies as possible so you get more exp. Playing aggressively and walking into them is a strong approach. Sometimes you can even intentionally tank hits to ensure you get more kills and especially pick up exp. Some of the top players will walk into enemies to ensure they kill them quickly and immediately pick up the exp so they can level faster -> deal more damage -> level even faster -> deal even more damage
the only "pathing" strat i use is with bibles. because they always rotate clockwise around yourself: if you're chipping away and a blob of enemies and you're on the outside, rotate around counter-clockwise, and if you're surrounded by enemies with you in the middle, rotate around the edge clockwise. the result is swinging more bibles through more enemies for more kills
to clarify on gem exp: There is a max number of individual gems that may be on the floor. Once this max number is reached, the game produces a special red gem (usually slightly offscreen, near a corner). this gem acts as a bank for the exp that would drop after killing an enemy with the max number of gems on the floor. this way, you never "waste" exp by killing enemies after the max # of gems-on-floor is reached. there are late game/account strategies that abuse this mechanic to reach insanely high levels (lvl500+). you are still in the learning process and do not need to worry about min/max exp pick ups strats.
@43:16 Santa Water is one of my favorites, great AoE DPS, but not as great against single elites. Attractorb makes collecting XP easier which means faster early levels
As far as farming patterns youre right, definitely seems to be heavily dependent on your loadout. I usually do an S shape back and forth and slowly move towards my destination. That being said, there are a few waves i dont bother farming on too much. The first flower wave in the mad forest is my best example, flowers and green zombies are sometimes too tanky to get much, and their spawn density is really low. So i usually concentrate on getting towards whatever pickups im going to want on that sort of wave.
21:30. Something I find myself doing is avoiding passives because I don’t have the combo weapon for them. This can be good in many situations, but I’ve found it’s generally not good once your weapon slots are full. You want that those passives filled, so you can nab the ones on the map. Obviously, if you can pick a weapon that you’re leveling, that’s a good pick, but in the timestamp, you only had passives when you skipped. I’ve done that too. It’s really easy to do when you have combined evolutions
Wow that combo forms the crazy magic circle nice! @53 it takes off a point of damage so if you get it up too 5 and have the actual armor and the red shroud I’m thinking you’d be next too invincible but I’m not sure .
I know I am three months late to the party, but I am proud. You came a long way. I played it in early access and got burnt out a few months before the dlc. Seeing you get better reminds me of my own journey, although mine was a bit more in sections waiting for updates. It's kind of nice seeing how much has changed from my time to now. Not just new content and characters, but missing characters and outdated strats too.
In regards to Pathing - i usually stick around my starting area at first, because that lets me kill as many mobsb as possible, getting as much exp as possible. Once i got most of my slots filled and im confident in my clearing (so around 12-13min mark) i would start moving towards stuff to pick up. You already discovered that picking up stuff STACKS with your max limit, so it makes sense toi fill your weapons/trinkets before picking up things.
Weapon cooldown is Priority #1 when you can upgrade it. Unless there is a weapon evo option like an item you dont have that's on the same level up selection, or a weapon is around 6-7 and can be leveled quickly. Not to mention, curse (Maxed Torronas and gold ring) with what you had here was basically a complete benefit for the sheer fact your dmg was through the roof and xp just rising with enemy density. Now you could have grabbed the spinach first before upgrading curse to make sure you were fine, however that's a personal thing. You're doing great odd, just have fun out there and if there are tips you want, the community will deliver 💙
17:40 actually evolutions can only come from the BOSS that spawns after 10 minutes, if there was a boss at 9 minutes and you kill it, then leave the chest on the ground until the clock hits 10 minutes then it won't evolve weapons, the exception is on some stages it can be 5 minutes instead of 10 (like capella magna, where you tested this before, it's bad luck you chose that level to be your test :P), but the general rule of thumb is 10 minutes for the majority of stages in the game, so you DIDN'T waste that chest there, it wouldn't have evolved your lightning ring
For the rings and staff halves, it's best to get silver and left first... These give a buff while gold and right are cursed so getting them early can end a run of the curse out powers your damage.
THAT WAS AN EPIC RUN! Well done Oddman. You should go back and look at the dps numbers again. I believe you will find a different story between bible and lightning ring ;)
Really great run, and your decisions were pretty ok 👍🏻 When you get your 6 passives, you should go and collect the additional passives on the map if they benefit you. Only when you feel comfortable killing things ;) You really underestimate armour, but maybe you feel it in the next run 😅
where to start on all the questions you asked?..... firstly general build/map choices, each campaign map (1-5) has a set accessory drop by default on the map, this map has the 2 hearts, spinach, skull and clover, so they are guarantied (plus the boss items, 2 rings and 2 arrows, are on each map as well), so take that into consideration as you can have 6 accessories plus the map defaults plus the 4 boss items. so plan ahead for evos. in the first 10m I tend to fill up my weapons and accessories slots to 6/6 for each, and then at the 10 minutes mark i should be strong enough to go out into the map to collect the additional accessories i want to complete my build. torrona's box is a must have, the first 8 levels are straight up buffs and can always banish the 9th level to not get the huge curse hit, although i usually just max it as by the time its at level 9 i want the extra curse for more mobs to kill for exp. as mentioned at 10 minutes i be line for the map drops so i have enough time to collect what i need and level it enough for the late game, setting off too late, even with hyper mode, can mean you dont have enough time to grab all the needed accessories and level them before they are needed. also when be lining anywhere, you might think you left a bunch of EXP behind, but you will find new things to destroy and will eventually get an attractor. another thing i noticed is you tend to focus on gems and ignore mini bosses and other drops a lot, i always try to burn them down as fast as possible and always pick things up as soon as they drop, as while moving around more will always drop (NFT's (fire sponge), chickens, attract orbs, etc), gems are the last thing to focus on. especially around the minute marks, as this is when waves change and bosses spawn, eg. 11m and 21m bosses drop the arcana chests, so burn them fast and get the upgrades. with regards to the arcana, unfortunately you cant go back and see what you selected during the stage in the pause menu, so always good to have a good read in the collections tab. the Gemini arcana cant be seen anywhere the additional weapons, but they are there, as soon as you picked it up, your bullet count doubled as you essentially went from 2 to 4 guns firing. also the 2 new guns fire at a slightly different angle, giving you a different spread. got load of other tips if you want to know, but im just happy you started using the bible more, i love that weapon, and the first 10 or so episodes you always skipped it. one last thing, the weapons at the end of the upgrade page are DLC weapons, like the bubbles, you get them from the DLC which is why you havent seen them yet, although i guess you own the DLC as they are visible? you need to play the mountain map to start unlocking them. Faded items on the upgrade screen, means you dont have space to acquire both items needed to evolve the item, at 26:48 you can see the pentagram is still lit up because you have one weapon slot free and own the crown, so you could get the evo, but non of the others could be done (this doesnt take into consideration the floor accessories, for example you could take the cross and pick up the clover off the floor and still evolve it) keep up the good work, love your content
There are a lot of things that could be said about individual choices but all in all it was a solid run so I'll limit myself to this: You should invest in unlocking the rerols and start planning your build ahead of entering a run with items on the floor in mind (as they are like free slots) on top of planning for unlocks (which don't have to be done in order). And I'll be repeating like mantra that you should get your build first level it up later Also crown, tome and torona are top tier passives that are good choices in 99% of situations. Though you are getting better and better on your own it seems
Next time you come across an enemy that doesn't die, no matter how often and much you hit it, try enabling the 'damage numbers' from the options menu. Perhaps it'll show you that the damage is reduced to zero. If that is the case, you can try and ignore the enemy.
Hyper mode increases player and enemy move speed, so the downside of hyper mode is that you have less time to kill enemies before they get close to you. That's not a problem if you have enough damage output, though. So in VS "the best defense is a good offense" is absolutely true.
I'm becoming a better VS player because of you dorks. Keep dorkin! ♥
The best(economical) way to unlock power-ups is start with the most expensive and work your way down.
At this point in the game you dont need a Laurel cuz it's not doing enough. If you want to survive 31 min you need a Lancet.
Keep up the fantastic work. Signed, a dork.
And you keep Odding
unlocking endles mode is the easiest way to survive 31min

Oh I didn't know it wasn't a one-time effect
@@ONKVP I got almost 200 million "damage" on it in hyper mode with killing the boss before minute 31, very good indeed
I'm pretty sure that's not true, as I have never had anything get even close to Infinite Corridor's DPS, except for upgraded Pentagram (2.4 M vs 2.2 M last run, IIRC). A big up to the community, they really turned Odd into a respectable VS player.
Sniff, look at him, all grown up.
You’re my boy blue
Not "Yes, absolutely", but "No, absolutely not". A chest that drops before 10:00 in a level that requires 10:00 for evolutions does not evolve a weapon if you wait to pick it up after that point of time.
37:50 you made the correct choice. The combined guns scale with revives. The more revives you have, the more beams it shoots.
For instance, getting 3 revivals from the Arcana gave the weapon 3 more beams, increasing its damage output by roughly 33% (9 beams up to 12)
The devs should make a crit only display option.
Yesssssss
Maybe flash orange/red instead of white.
That is simply an awesome idea. In fact, let us pick the color of it as well that would be nonsensical fun wich is the foundation of this game.
Great idea
Or a "Boss Health" bar, so you can see how close you are to killing them.
Been following the series from Ep1 and I gotta say, seeing where it started and where it is now, it really has been a beautiful journey! Good job Odd!
I can’t imagine trying to play hyper and stream of consciousness narrate it to put on UA-cam. You’re a legend!
56:03 Hint: once you do the trail following secret, you will see why some poeple would like to disable projectile speed buff ;)
agreed, you've definitely been underplaying the power of the attractorb.
I’ve mentioned that in videos too so I’ve heard ya don’t worry
@@ChristopherOdd I think the main issue is that you aren't quite used to reaching these levels consistently. Not picking the attractorb upgrade does reduce the levels as it's even better then crown, but you did get the main alternative this run. You got a new arcana called Mad Groove that you should check out the description of as it's awesome.
Definitely. As good as this run was compared to previous runs, the amount of missed opportunities was nuts.
@@DavidWMiller there’s gonna be missed opportunities every run until I have as many hours as other people seem to. It’s part of the process.
Few comments:
The infinite corridor is the huge rainbow circle that appeared after you evolved, the individual lance beams are just freezes as normal
Skip is far less useful than banish
Always take "Always floor chicken".
I just ran Mad Groove for the first time earlier today. It's really nice, super OP.
@@evilbob840 It's one of my favorites because I am very lazy and enjoy spending 30 minutes standing next to the merchant
29:58 You killed it, good job.(also, that's where the egg came from, lol)
Good job!👍
2 - I only use Banish when there is literally nothing that I want out of the options.
@23:57 I think gold fever extends when you pick up a gold coin/coin bag! i've played on levels where coins drop constantly and my highest gold fever got up to 14,000! enemies drop coins when you kill them in gold fever and those coins extend the timer a little, but picking up a natural source of gold boosts the length by more.
oh shoot typo, 22:57 sorry!
I just made 8 mil in 30 min with trouser dude
A solid run. :D Nicely done on the deductions to level up both silver/gold and left/right.
@17:28 while stage dependent, in mad Forrest it is only the chests that drop from bosses who show up starting at 10 minutes which can offer an evolution
WOW! 30:52 seconds. YOU SLAYED HIM!
Chest contents depend on when the boss spawned, the 9:45 chest was probably the 9 minute boss so not necessarily an upgrade chest
In the last video a chest dropped at around the 9min mark and Odd left it until after the 10min mark, and it gave an upgrade.
49:40 good job, Odd! This episode was worth the hype
Beating the Reaper for the first time is always fun to watch. You spend all that time accepting your fate and then take control of your own destiny! At least until The Reaper's grandpa says "play times over!"
Congrats on your first Hyper Mode game, as well as evolving the Lancet and Laurel! Now you're getting in to the real meat and potatoes :)
Yeah okay this was insane. I was so scared you would pick up the chest at 44:50 and miss the final evolution.. accidentally clutch decision making!
I said out loud "DON'T YOU PICK UP THAT CHEST ODD... YOU BETTER GET CRIMSON SHROUD". People were staring at me lol
I'm a big fan of taking a level in curse. It prevents that "Okay, where are all the enemies?" feeling. I haven't tried higher levels of it though.
The most delicious part of bullet hell games is the pathing. You’ve got good pathing instincts. Pathing is a gut instinct. You can gamify it but ultimately, your lizard brain is going to make the decision if you let it.
Congratulations, you found the combo to beat the red death :D
The grey reaper is the only unkillable mob in the game.
Congrats Odd! You destroyed the Reaper! So glad you got those items in time to see them evolve! Great run!
about chests:
not sure if you have picked up on this but:
chests are programmed to drop from specific enemies that are programmed to spawn at specific times.
it is never random. this allows you to plan accordingly for evolutions.
Best one yet, had a blast watching this one!
if you chose a character that starts with the "Gemini" weapons.
that's the best time to pick up the Gemini Arcana first, imo.
That arcana basically acts as a duplicator for those weapons specifically.
the benefits are most noticeable once you upgrade the weapons during the run.
Love how the bird transform from winged deaths into a flying warcrime!
17:28 - on mad forest you cant evolve a weapon before 10 minutes unless a certain condition is met. So you were fine to just grab that one :)
Hell yes! You were so close to doing this a couple of days ago. Awesome to see you get there!
didn't even notice his friend - who he couldn't kill before in 22 minutes - dying after less than a minute :)
there are 2 arcane card which pull every item including xp on the map to you, pick those as first drop during the game (reroll until you get it)
47:10 instead of chasing more passives at this point I would have gone for the question mark on the map.
AHH that was amazing. By far your best run. SO satisfying to see you finally nail red death!
As for farming patterns, think wax on, wax off. Circles that move in a dedicated direction. It maximizes exp collection.
Some of the top players will walk into enemies to ensure they kill them quickly and immediately pick up the exp so they can level faster -> deal more damage -> level even faster -> deal even more damage
the only "pathing" strat i use is with bibles. because they always rotate clockwise around yourself: if you're chipping away and a blob of enemies and you're on the outside, rotate around counter-clockwise, and if you're surrounded by enemies with you in the middle, rotate around the edge clockwise. the result is swinging more bibles through more enemies for more kills
to clarify on gem exp:
There is a max number of individual gems that may be on the floor.
Yes, absolutely!
You have defeated the Grim Reaper.
A new challenger approaches.
More powaahhhh! Congrats Odd on defeating the Reaper
Yes, absolutely.
Also, on behalf of those of us who have commented for years about how you say "tome"...Thank You. And we appreciate your efforts.
9:30 I’m with you on keeping damage numbers off. Screen is crowed with everything else going on as it is lol
Really great run, and your decisions were pretty ok 👍🏻
When you get your 6 passives, you should go and collect the additional passives on the map if they benefit you.
Only when you feel comfortable killing things ;)
You really underestimate armour, but maybe you feel it in the next run 😅
Yes, absolutely
Woow, what a run! Congrats, man!!
where to start on all the questions you asked?.....
firstly general build/map choices, each campaign map (1-5) has a set accessory drop by default on the map, this map has the 2 hearts, spinach, skull and clover, so they are guarantied (plus the boss items, 2 rings and 2 arrows, are on each map as well), so take that into consideration as you can have 6 accessories plus the map defaults plus the 4 boss items. so plan ahead for evos.
in the first 10m I tend to fill up my weapons and accessories slots to 6/6 for each, and then at the 10 minutes mark i should be strong enough to go out into the map to collect the additional accessories i want to complete my build.
torrona's box is a must have, the first 8 levels are straight up buffs and can always banish the 9th level to not get the huge curse hit, although i usually just max it as by the time its at level 9 i want the extra curse for more mobs to kill for exp.
as mentioned at 10 minutes i be line for the map drops so i have enough time to collect what i need and level it enough for the late game, setting off too late, even with hyper mode, can mean you dont have enough time to grab all the needed accessories and level them before they are needed. also when be lining anywhere, you might think you left a bunch of EXP behind, but you will find new things to destroy and will eventually get an attractor.
another thing i noticed is you tend to focus on gems and ignore mini bosses and other drops a lot, i always try to burn them down as fast as possible and always pick things up as soon as they drop, as while moving around more will always drop (NFT's (fire sponge), chickens, attract orbs, etc), gems are the last thing to focus on. especially around the minute marks, as this is when waves change and bosses spawn, eg. 11m and 21m bosses drop the arcana chests, so burn them fast and get the upgrades.
with regards to the arcana, unfortunately you cant go back and see what you selected during the stage in the pause menu, so always good to have a good read
in the collections tab. the Gemini arcana cant be seen anywhere the additional weapons, but they are there, as soon as you picked it up, your bullet count doubled as you essentially went from 2 to 4 guns firing. also the 2 new guns fire at a slightly different angle, giving you a different spread.
got load of other tips if you want to know, but im just happy you started using the bible more, i love that weapon, and the first 10 or so episodes you always skipped it.
one last thing, the weapons at the end of the upgrade page are DLC weapons, like the bubbles, you get them from the DLC which is why you havent seen them yet, although i guess you own the DLC as they are visible? you need to play the mountain map to start unlocking them. Faded items on the upgrade screen, means you dont have space to acquire both items needed to evolve the item, at 26:48 you can see the pentagram is still lit up because you have one weapon slot free and own the crown, so you could get the evo, but non of the others could be done (this doesnt take into consideration the floor accessories, for example you could take the cross and pick up the clover off the floor and still evolve it)
keep up the good work, love your content
You can actually evolve the DLC weapons without setting foot in the DLC, after you unlock a certain other item.
For Power Up selection:
The "best" order is most to least expensive.
this maximizes the amount of power ups per gold.
I must say, this was the most aestheticly pleasing run.
What an amazing run. Looking forward to the next one.
Enjoying this series so much I got the game myself. I've found the combo of evolved garlic, evolved bible, and combined guns is stupid powerful.
Binder + Tome + Perogi is so much fun. Just constant lasers circling you.
There are a lot of things that could be said about individual choices but all in all it was a solid run so I'll limit myself to this:
You should invest in unlocking the rerols and start planning your build ahead of entering a run with items on the floor in mind (as they are like free slots) on top of planning for unlocks (which don't have to be done in order).
And I'll be repeating like mantra that you should get your build first level it up later
Also crown, tome and torona are top tier passives that are good choices in 99% of situations.
Yes! Absolutely!
