I find unsettling this need for healers to think of dpsing, majority of the time in pugs I found myself pulling 4-5k hps for minutes consecutively even in low keys because whole party is taking so much damage and I have zero time to even think of casting a damage spell.
Strangely as you get to higher keys you have a lot more time to think of dpsing because your dps and tanks are better at mitigating/avoiding damage instead of eating avoidable damage. People are usually still getting used to playing their class and are not necessarily watching for ground effects or cleaves as much.
thats why im a disc priest in higher keys i just heal more instead of dps but still rapture is such a freak of a cd and its always rdy the next mob pull
I've fooled around with pvp a bit recently and came upon this information by a pvp resto druid - that draught + swarm (conduited into further 33% dot dmg increase) = insane single target damage. Played around enough with to say that yes, it's actualy remarkable (it's basicaly a build for 2v2 where you can afford to go more offensive pvpwise, but aside from that) you can go over 3k on a target with 220+ ilvl, nvm with the new gear. PS: "You're a druid you already have 500 keybinds what's one more" should be a T-shirt slogan.
Soul of the forest proc into Convoke procs ALL reju-regrowth-wild growth during convoke. Combine soul proc + innervate into Convoke for massive healing.
I'm not ultra high key chad, but last season I was doing 23s-24s... Ran with 1 resto druid on my alt toward the end of the season who is a well known feral druid PVPer. He was Necro, obviously, but played Resto in keys. He was like 2400 io or something. We were just pumping some easy keys on a tyran week to help a buddy get KSM before it went away, and he joined us for a 17 or 18 Mists. Played feral affinity and the single target Rip/Moonfire legendary. Pulled 5k overall for the dungeon. Absolutely bonkers, never played with a Necro Resto Druid before that and I mean holy shit he was pumping.

This.. with full hots rolling, verdant SM and flourish your tank can literally go untouched for a full 20-30 seconds while you do damage or have a snack or something. I wish they made catweaving the best. I know a lot of people don't like it but right now you don't really get rewarded for the more challenging playstyle.

Verdant Infusion doesnt feel right to me. I know its the best, but I dont like having to spend a powerful heal on a target thats already at max health, even though I know it increases all my hots. Is Dark Lesson viable at all?
Don’t think of it as a big heal, rather think of it as a cenarion ward extender. Cenarion is an incredibly powerful hot and in most cases after you have extended your hots, you can comfortably dps as boomie/feral or care about other players. Also remember that with Soul of the forest, you can slap an empowered rejuvenate on the tank or a wild growth for aoe. Makes healing very efficient and you have more time to dps. The tanks I play with feel very safe that way. Edit: imho dark lesson is viable, especially now that we don’t have prides anymore. It’s strong with photosynthesis. If you don’t mind keeping 2 blooms up, go for it.
@@jonperans verdant gameplay feels right to me. It's what I was missing from previous expansions. I i started shadowlands with DTL and LB micro managing, didn't feel good.
Great video man. Thank you for the info. I’m just getting back into wow since invasion. Can you do a commentary video on healing mythics. I would like to hear why you are pressing specific spells. Druid has changed quite a bit and I’m kinda lost right now.
I've been playing circle all s1 and i feel like it is one of the best leggo for m+ as you don't need more throughput but i don't think you can play feral affinity with it as you won't have time to use your bite as your dots will run out quickly.
The number of times pugs "forget" it's bursting, go wild and stack it to 7 or 8 really, truly upsets me as a rookie healer. I start having to pop CDs, spam everything, and stack every HoT on everyone and even then its just praying no one actually falls over. Then they continue to stack it, they die, and ofc it's my fault >_>
i mean, if you have details, then you could prob look at damage taken vs healing done, and be able to prove them wrong (its pugs so it wont work, but you'll feel better maybe), even if you don't say it.
As a druid main, and having completed 18's already this 9.1 .... I am loving it, kitty weaving still does strong damage if you do it well! Good luck gamers.
Mastery doesn’t provide any dps. That’s the reason. Most high lvl druids only have a small amount of mastery like 5-8%. Rest goes to stats that contribute to dps AND healing.

Im nowhere near growl level ended up doing only 22s but from my experience it differs wildy depending on key level when you run for example +15pugs with soakers you wanna hardstack mastery and run burst heal talents but where you go higher you swap to different style entirely as you expect that all damage income will be more or less predictable (since ppl wont soak). Issue i have with overgrowth is that its very infefficient and you only want to use it as oh crap button (and its not even that good for that) but than you are losing quite a bit of constant healing from Effo talent (mostly from mastery buff) as efflo should be on the ground most of the time.

so true, I'm new to healing but it seems difficulty scales inversely with key level. In 6-7 pugs just take any damage possible.

Cuz haste = faster ticks
