  • How can the EU reform its economic model to benefit consumers and the planet? Aimilios in Belgium and Laetitia in France have (part of) the answer!
Aimilios and his Watt4Ever team recondition old electric car batteries to make new energy storage systems, effectively giving batteries a second life and saving precious raw materials and energy while avoiding additional pollution.
Laetitia and “Halte à l'Obsolescence Programmée”, or HOP (“Stop Planned Obsolescence”), campaign for everyday products to last longer and be more repairable.
The European Parliament backs EU-wide measures to promote a circular economy, a right to repair and better recycling of raw materials, to avoid polluting the planet and to benefit your wallet.
EU programmes such as Horizon Europe plus rural and regional development funds make sure such projects get the resources they need.

    Dear MEPs!
I am a resident of Greece, a country with one of the lowest wages in Europe and the highest price for electricity in Europe. In our country, forests are deliberately burned down to install wind turbines to generate electricity and agricultural areas are flooded to install solar parks there. And at the same time, the price of electricity in our country is twice as high as the European average. Because of solar panels and wind turbines, the air temperature in the country in the summer is much higher than it should be. And fairy tales about climate change will not work here. We all know why it is getting hotter and hotter in Greece every summer - because of the production of "green" electricity.... Residents of the country very often cannot afford to turn on air conditioners, even if they have them at home - they are afraid of electricity bills, which eat up an increasing part of their already lowest salaries in Europe. Every fourth person in Greece lives below the poverty line... We in Greece are Europeans just like you... Why do you allow our country's authorities to profit from electricity prices? Why aren't there any general regulations on electricity pricing in the EU? Help us!!!
