Bought the game, crashed the car on all stages, gave up, deleted. I love rally, imo toughest sport out there. But for your safety and mine, I will cheer from the sidelines.
I’ve got it on game pass. The first few cars, the old, slow AWD ones, are just about manAgeable. I did alright with them...then I tried a RWD Ford Mustang, 500hp...let’s just say the results were different. I had really feather the throttle just in order to get it to move in a straight line, and it span out every time I tried a turn. It makes assetto Corsa seem straightforward. The real problem is the analogue stock. It’s just not designed to have the required sensitivity for simulations. I’m going to get a wheel, I’m just waiting for next gen at this point. Because as difficult as dirt rally 2.0 is there’s nothing like the satisfaction you get from getting good at it. It’s like a fromware game: if you let it break you it will, but if you face up to it it’s like surfing on razor blades, there’s nothing in gaming as exhilarating
@General Jiggler The rally cross is a piece of piss. I win every race first try too, and I'm playing with all the assists off. Something is broken with the AI, it's just ludicrously easy. It definitely doesn't mean you're good at sims. The meat of the game is the actual rallying. Try a time trial with an RWD muscle car like the new mustang(all assists off obviously). See how you do there.
Not even remotely close, he made a lot of minor mistakes and was a bit too flashy. This was probably just a casual run for him however, and I'm sure he's well aware of exactly where to go faster, how to go faster and roughly how much time he could shave off.
+Captain Bacon he can certainly at least get close. Back in November when he had a friendly rivalry going with another rally driver he got down to around 2:58, I think the fastest (or at least fastest non-blatantly cheaty) time is somewhere around 2:56.
Take a moment and think that this game has all this details the physics behind the car running and everything so accurately that a professional was able to show his knowledge
Beats basteln :3 yup, a good driver needs to feel his car... I can't take turns right because I can't feel my wheels about to lose traction so I go full speed ahead forgetting I am doing 160km/h on a ''dirt'' ''slipery'' ''road'' which my body feels like it doesnt exist since I can't feel it xD
@@yann_mrl1556 yeah, but still be nice to hear them talk about it.. didn't even have to be in this video cus I do like how cut and dry it is.. no intro right to the point.. but some people want to hear his opinion.
Eh, i'm 14, and usually get around 3rd-6th place avg in the career mode. I use a Logitech Driving Force GT with my sequential mapped to e-brake and use paddles to shift. Also no clutch. iirc, the difficulty isn't on the hardest but close.
+dochmbi That's why I stopped watching this, I didn't even scan it to the end, I knew this video would not include the driver's thoughts about the game
+dochmbi let me give you the short version: "feedback in completely different. it's missing most of the feel for the car and also the G forces, so you have to rely on sight almost exclusively. You have to re-learn to drive without the all the feedback you car gives and do a lot of guessing. But it's fun."
The fact of how good he did in correlation with his experience driving real rally cars just goes to show how accurate this game must be, Ive gotta pick this up with a racing wheel now!
Mr_NarwhaL The guy who recorded this commented on a jalopnik article saying that he(the driver) thought that the awd cars felt spot on in gravel but that the rwd cars felt off.
He said right at the beginning quite clearly "it's ridiculous" and that and worse is what these silly arcade games are, unrealistic beyond belief. But you would know that if you ever drove a real car.
@@TheDionBlasterMethod damn never thought I'd see the light of day where anybody would mention ssx, bro thats so crazy. I think I'm literally one of the very few that know about it where I'm from. Nice to be able to relate.
Damn. That's crazy. Dude only made one mistake that I saw, going way wide on the hairpin at 1:50, but still beat the leader by 14 seconds. Either he is an amateur rally driver that plays a lot, or this is a testament to how well the game handles.
Blaze Clarke Yeah. He had to let off the throttle to keep his car from spinning out, so he lost some speed, but maybe only .3 of a second off his total time.
dat moment when you take a hairpin so well for the first time in your life that you forget there's another one coming up and fall of a cliff and die wtf lel rip

Yeah, got it for free some time ago. Since I don't have anything besides keyboard playing it is pretty darn hard.
God damn! Im scared watching this even knowing it is just a game! :D
Was not expecting to find u in these comments haha. Now go record some more videos! Love ur stuff man :^)
+ImAnderZEL You commenting on a Dirt Rally video is surprising, not exactly CSGO hehe.
+ImAnderZEL lol
+ImAnderZEL Surprised to find you here, lol.
+ImAnderZEL Well hello anderz just about to watch your latest fpl vid :)
This must be atleast close to a world record for this track.
Not even remotely close, he made a lot of minor mistakes and was a bit too flashy. This was probably just a casual run for him however, and I'm sure he's well aware of exactly where to go faster, how to go faster and roughly how much time he could shave off.
+Bigbazz86 nailed it, this was a casual run. We were all just hanging out and taking turns while waiting for our real rally cars to be prepped.
+DVMSteve Thanks for making that clear. But he sould be able to make a record right?
+Captain Bacon he can certainly at least get close. Back in November when he had a friendly rivalry going with another rally driver he got down to around 2:58, I think the fastest (or at least fastest non-blatantly cheaty) time is somewhere around 2:56.
+DVMSteve Wow, very impresive!
Take a moment and think that this game has all this details the physics behind the car running and everything so accurately that a professional was able to show his knowledge
i feel bad if anyone plays against him online
CheesyTwister hacker.
2:57.976 here ;)
Liar? Posted a video december 1st if you don't believe me, far off the record still i think it was
CheesyTwister that's a good ass video idea 💡
Pro drivers can't touch pro players in games. It's just a different thing.
There was no g forces he was probably like.
Simplest shit ever.
less g forces make driving sims harder to predict
Satan YOO NICE PROFILE PIC
Beats basteln :3 yup, a good driver needs to feel his car... I can't take turns right because I can't feel my wheels about to lose traction so I go full speed ahead forgetting I am doing 160km/h on a ''dirt'' ''slipery'' ''road'' which my body feels like it doesnt exist since I can't feel it xD
dirt rally is dark souls of racing game
Dark Souls is the Dirt Rally of RPGs ;)

meh... f1 2013.
Driver: This is so refreshing to drive without a helmet
He's about to do what's called a pro gamer move
He is seriously good.
Or we can say *Pro Driver* move
The Co-pilot couldn't give the track info in time to the professional pilot,he was like: "What the hell, who's this guy? Chuck Norris?"
xD
Looks like he's quite enjoying himself lmao
FatMonsterIsEatin well he drives like that for a living so I surely hope he enjoys it. :)
The guy is so smooth with his driving skills..wow
Would have really liked to hear his opinions. A missed opportunity.
Take a look at the description below the video
@@yann_mrl1556 yeah, but still be nice to hear them talk about it.. didn't even have to be in this video cus I do like how cut and dry it is.. no intro right to the point.. but some people want to hear his opinion.
@@richardgranter4130 agree
Time stamp
I don't know why this was recommended to me but I'm very glad it was
Ben Dixon +1
Just casually beats the previous best time by 14 seconds.
My Channel Lacks Originality look like he beat the other time by 14.3 mins not seconds.
OurWorldBloggers it's seconds. Look again.
Skyler Blizard so your saying he did all of that in 5 seconds? Look at the time format it's in hours,Mins and seconds
OurWorldBloggers it's 3:05.742 mins seconds and milliseconds
OurWorldBloggers it's seconds because I doubt it took him 3 hours
These are the people who should test drive any sort of realism vehicle game. Gamer-chair experts with no experience are everywhere.

And I swear Ive never read this joke like 100 times under racing videos ever before

The fact that I cant even leave the start without causing mass genocide, this is incredible.
LOL!
@@elmoe01 best comment - had me chuckling away, mainly because I am also a WMD when I play this game.
i think every rally video has the comment:
“Samir, you are breaking the car”
Samir?
This guy makes it look SO easy, but I can't imagine even trying.
The One and Only GodHydra its really hard honestly
You can see he's a pro, the way he handles those turns with so less braking. If you see replays by other people they will be braking on every turn.
Eh, i'm 14, and usually get around 3rd-6th place avg in the career mode. I use a Logitech Driving Force GT with my sequential mapped to e-brake and use paddles to shift. Also no clutch. iirc, the difficulty isn't on the hardest but close.
Same here, I bought the game 2 days ago and I only get the 5~6th place on average. And this is the easiest difficulty, fml.
The thing is though, the difficulty of the opponents in this is based on what kind of championship/event you're doing, like if it's opens, pro, etc.
Would be nice if there was a video where you interviewed rally drivers and asked for their thoughts on the feel of the game.
+dochmbi Yep, some comments on what he thought of it were what I was waiting for!
+dochmbi That's why I stopped watching this, I didn't even scan it to the end, I knew this video would not include the driver's thoughts about the game
+dochmbi A video of Loeb racing on his C4.. SWEET.
+dochmbi let me give you the short version:
"feedback in completely different. it's missing most of the feel for the car and also the G forces, so you have to rely on sight almost exclusively. You have to re-learn to drive without the all the feedback you car gives and do a lot of guessing. But it's fun."
+GraveUypo pretty much my thoughts during this video
I became a mouth breather for 3 minutes.
I completly stopped. Mad driving skills.
Lmao
Rofl
now that you mentioned it,i think i forgot to breath as well
THAT'S WHAT SHE SA!!!!!.....oh......wait....
Always enjoyable to watch other people excel at things. Very talented.
If there will be a zombie apocalypse I definitly want this guy to be my taxi driver!
Or maybe when I´m real hungry as well
Yeah!! Call him thru uber!
Depends if you'd be a good co-driver.
He's the driver you play as in crazy taxi.
You really think rally drivers can complete a stage in record times without a co-driver? Don't be stupid haha.
3:02 Bro he was so immersed-
Wow, this guy should become a rally driver.
tru dat
lol
ikr he has potential
Yeah i agree
He is a rally driver...
Is it just me or is this very satisfying to watch
The fact of how good he did in correlation with his experience driving real rally cars just goes to show how accurate this game must be, Ive gotta pick this up with a racing wheel now!
DID I SERIOUSLY JUST READ THAT RIGHT!?!? 15 SECONDS BETTER THAN THE SECOND BEST!
14.46
Take in mind that he understeered and had to floor the brakes at least 4 times. Wow
The first would be good then. Damn. Wonder if he could best the first
Who cares how he did against 2nd place guy? Howd he do against 1st place guy...?!
@@stickboyfpv4742 1st guy probably good as
why the hell didn't yall ask him what he thinks of the game?
Mr_NarwhaL yes lol made no sense rally game rally driver well driver is it like the real thing mate ???
Mr_NarwhaL The guy who recorded this commented on a jalopnik article saying that he(the driver) thought that the awd cars felt spot on in gravel but that the rwd cars felt off.
He said right at the beginning quite clearly "it's ridiculous" and that and worse is what these silly arcade games are, unrealistic beyond belief. But you would know that if you ever drove a real car.
v1m30 yea, they could add some more weight to the cars and maybe get some more feedback
Pretty sure that was the camera man saying that about the guys driving.
I constantly fought for the top 100 on all tracks in dirt rally. This man is amazing. That was some incredible driving.
i think dirt rally was the most difficult racing game i've ever played
I agree on that. The demands are madness.

Well? Where is Johnny? I don't see him here.

So why don't you just leave the tag of his name?
Cool driving but why does he keep inserting a coin every few seconds?
I don't know how to answer that.
well said !
Assuming you’re not joking, pretty sure he’s changing gears.
No way, he is definitely inserting coins.
Exactly! Common sense really.
This is ridiculous. It even looks like he makes a few mistakes in some spots but is so good that he just recovers instantaneously.
Yeah he’s a real Ricky Winterborn
@@rwjbush Yeah, but he's no Rob Haywood!
@@TheDionBlasterMethod I got that game for my first communion, that’s how old we are haha
@@rwjbush Yup, pretty crazy. I think I was 7 or so. Still one of the best snowboarding games out there along with SSX 3.
@@TheDionBlasterMethod damn never thought I'd see the light of day where anybody would mention ssx, bro thats so crazy. I think I'm literally one of the very few that know about it where I'm from. Nice to be able to relate.
I know nothing about rally and I'm still impressed by his skills
Well- I think we can conclude this sim passes the realism test! LOL
Damn. That's crazy. Dude only made one mistake that I saw, going way wide on the hairpin at 1:50, but still beat the leader by 14 seconds. Either he is an amateur rally driver that plays a lot, or this is a testament to how well the game handles.
both...
Shadyn Ebey I'm not sure that was even a mistake as such. would he have even lost any time doing what he did there?
Blaze Clarke Yeah. He had to let off the throttle to keep his car from spinning out, so he lost some speed, but maybe only .3 of a second off his total time.
Shadyn Ebey He made a small mistake around 20 seconds when he counted steered way early, but that happens once an a while to even the best racers.
Shadyn Ebey read the description.
Holy shit! And that level is probably my least favorite. Hit the pile of logs, restart the race for the 100,956th time.
You see how he dealt with it? Keep left, counter-steer a little, shift up, oversteer a little, then real gently straighten up.
this guy is better than 90% DiRT Rally pro players
he takes type 1-2 turns at over 100kmh, i can't even take them at 40 ;-;
+Vladimir Mazare (TelePortal) Left 4 coming up and I'm doing 40km/h ? Shit, better slow down.
+Lachlan Easton Left 1, im doing 150...oh well, ive altready smashed into a tree
dat moment when you take a hairpin so well for the first time in your life that you forget there's another one coming up and fall of a cliff and die
wtf lel rip
Well... He's a rally driver... So...
depends on the car, that fiesta could take the corner 150 no problem but don't even try on the cooper s:P
meanwhile, my first ride in this game got me making a sideflip 5 fuckn seconds after start...
me too haha. but now i am a good driver :D sometimes. i play without any help and hud
Thrustmaster TMX with Sequencial Shifter
In the Main Menu? Damn.
yeah, trashed my damn pc with the flip
That driver driving so smooth...
I gotta say I’ve always enjoyed watching rally races it’s just so fast and such a thrill and imo takes more skill than most race car drivers
