Loretta Lynn may have the record for having the most songs banned from the radio...she was a head of her time. Each song that was banned became a chart topper.
I LOVE "Wings Upon Your Horns." When I first heard that this song had her producer on high-alert and that radio stations banned it I was only 11 years old and had no idea why this would happen. But now...LOL...I can understand the potential metaphors that had the radio station executives scratching their heads. Ya gotta love that Loretta!!!
She was of the times, that's why the Songs hit the charts and did well. They were about things going on at the time and considered Taboo and still going on Today.
I love Loretta Lynn and her performances with Conway. And she was the greatest Country singer. I love Loretta Lynn for her music and great songwriting.
It was controversial songs but it was banned on the radio Similarity than the sex pistols songs called "God save the queen" in 1977 but it was banned from the BBC during the Queen Elizabeth II silver jubilee
I was fortunate, I started using birth control at 17 in 1978 when a better version of the Pill was on the market and there was alot of education steered toward teens. When my bf mom found out we were serious, she suggested I go down and get birth control. At least in my life the adults in my life could talk about it and wasn't Christian Fundamentalists shouting from the pulpit! Lol.
I am from Lee County Virginia not far from Van Lear Kentucky my aunt's last name was Webb same as Loretta's dad and my other aunt's son's dad was a Ramey as was Loretta's mother I wonder if there is any relation I wish I could do some kind of ancestry thing
Feminist? I hate that word. Women need to be home with children nurturing them! Dont have children if you dont want to raise them. We see the results of daycare raised children. Gender confused, Gay, depression, anxiety, all kinds of disfunction because these children never had their mothers and daddys were absent too. I had a traditional family until I was ten,and father whom I loved dearly abandoned us. I went from having a mother and father to no father or mother because my mother worked two full time jobs to provide for us. I least I had ten years of normalcy before being orphan. I can't imagine living like that from birth. I understand why these kids who are now adults feel so alone and disconnected who came from single homes with working parents.
@@K.I.N- her dad, from the sound of it, but I don’t know why she’s taking it out on her mom. I’m sure she missed her mom while she had to work so hard to support a single parent household, but to call herself an orphan while still having one parent is an insult to actual orphans and to the woman who did so much to keep a roof over her head. As for the rest, just… does she really believe that gay people didn’t exist before daycares? Also “don’t have children if you don’t want them” that’s kinda the whole point of the pill.
I'm not a country music fan...but I love and have a huge respect for Loretta Lynn.
"Everybody had to play it once it was on the charts." 💸💸💸 I wish there was more footage of Loretta Lynn being interviewed in this video.

@@stove_ray yeah I was confused why she was taking it out on her mom…Oh and the gays
Then don't go onto videos about a song that was feminist then. If you hate feminists, you're a goddamn sexist.
