Hello 👋 Michelle. How are you doing? Hope you’re fine. I’m Zack Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
I agree. I just learned of her when she passed. I seen the movie as a child and her coal miners daughter but I didn’t knew of Ms.Loretta Lynn but I sure do now!
She is a True Talent with a Fabulous voice. I was just listening to her Channel on UA-cam last night and She has 10 times the talent as most I hear on the radio today. I truly wish Country Music would go back Loretta, George, Conway and the Young Man Randy Travis oh and how could I forget Dolly.
R.I.Heaven Loretta Lynn your music will last as long as the planet exist You are the last of the true country singer, rest now earth cries heaven sings Amen 🙏
@@Starkardur TX folks have southern accents too..Southerners can relate to other southerners...The accents may differ just a bit but it's still considered southern..
I remember back in the late 1970's, I read that Faye Dunaway wanted to play Loretta. I loved Faye in "Mommie Dearest," but I really can't see her playing Loretta Lynn. Loretta handpicked Sissy herself and even started promoting her selection before Sissy had officially accepted the role that would earn her an Oscar from the Academy Of Motion Picture Academy in 1981.
Im really glad they went with tommy lee jones instead of harrison ford. I love harrison ford but it just would not have worked with him playing mooney.
Always ahead of her time! What an icon for women! She gave voice for all women. All the while she took her vows seriously and loved unconditionally. I see a side of her that can't open up to just anybody about how that feels. It's like if you do people judge you because you stay in a situation or they try to fix your situation. Sometimes you just need that person you can lean on that totally understands and doesn't ask for more. I hope she has that friend.
her husband was much older than her but tommy lee jones nailed it sissy freakin completely nailed it she won a academy award and was up against heavy talent that year in 1980...other great actors but she nailed it.. the movie was 2 plus hours could have been 5 hour titanic and i would have watched it and loved it....things were so different in the 1930's
Alex Smart He was, but in the early days you could not tell. When she says that he looked like a toy soldier, that is 100% true (I didn't buy it either). He looks almost younger than Loretta when they first got together and their first four kids were born/very young. But how amazing would it have been if the movie had been a miniseries instead? So much more could have been included.
thats a great point and would still be a great series i could see this on show time original, may be after she passess they will pick up one some one should email showtime or hbo.... great point
The rest is history they did a great job on the movie they didnt shy away from showing the hard times and life for people back in the hills where she was from and the troubles and challenges in her life - a lot of bio films make mistake of prettying things up
Her Grandfather once told her she wasn't pretty, and that has stuck with her all her life. Maybe he was just mean, maybe he was trying to keep her from being uppity like Nellie from Little House on the Prairie...at any rate, at 70 she was told she's beautiful, and she responded that she does what she can, and has never had any work done on her. She's 90 now in 2022 and still looks great for her age!
Sure glad they got Tommy Lee to play Dolittle. I LOVE TL....He's a natural at anything he does and that part made him so cute. Now Harrison is a doll but he's Reguarding Henry. I LOVED him in that...so sweet. That truly was one of the best ,well made movies EVER!!!! (Coal Miners Daughter)
This was before they recast Mooney's role. Harrison Ford didn't play Mooney, Tommy Lee had the voice and demeanor of Mooney. I know Mooney, Jones was spot on!!!
Tommy Lee Jones spent a good bit of time studying Mooney while spending time with him preparing for his role...as a great professional actor does. Mooney is the one who taught Tommy to drove the bulldozer. Tommy and Sissy both did fantastic in the movie...both hit the mark!
Loretta Lunn is still the Queen of country ❤ I still listen to your music 🎶 and Conway Twitty are singing in Heaven now I can't wait until I get to Heaven and listen to you to together again I listen to the music on UTube as,well
Very rarely can she do a show now...but she's still working at 90 years old, with no plans to stop! She was very good at interacting with the audience! She would mess up during the shows, but keep it going...which made it feel more like just a family get together than a concert! Those that know her personally say the way she is on stage (personalitywise) is the same as how she is at home. Good or bad, she's always kept it real.
I am so glad that Tommy Lee Jones played Mooney. No offense to Harrison Ford but Tommy Lee was a country boy and I don't think it would have been the same without Tommy playing Mooney. Tommy Lee should have gotten an award for his preformance but then the movie was Coal Miner's Daughter and Sissy did a great job pert rating Loretta in the movie. Sissy and Tommy Lee were great as Loretta and Mooney. I love Loretta still.
Harrison Ford could not be available at the time to star in Coal Miners Daughter because Jabba the Hut encased him in Carbonite,So the role went to Tommy Lee Jones.
realizing that Loretta mentioned that Harrison Ford was to play her husband but Tommy Lee Jones is the one that did it.....wonder what happened for the change, I love Tommy in the role anyway i cant imagine Ford in that role now :)

the reason they cast tommy lee jones was the chemistry with sissy and the fact that harrison was in 3 other movie pojects.
