@@loayprettyboy206 An illegal and bad remake of Le prix du danger (Prize of Peril) (1983) It's a real hoot to see how much the Producers of the Running Man took from this French film. Their are scenes from this movie that are exactly the same as in the Running Man. They even have a final confrontation between contestant and host as in said picture. I encourage you as a movie buff to go out and seek a copy of this film on video. This is still a really well-made and relevant film about politic, violence and the media.
I long thought that, much as I liked Running Man, it could have been a muuuuuch better film. Then I read Arnold's autobiography, and saw that he felt the same way.
One of the reasons I like Arnie. He's not just some typical dumb macho man that tries to hide his feelings. He admitted with no shame that it was pretty scary filming the tunnel scenes. He's always come across to me as quite down to earth. Not something that can be said of modern tough acting performers.
He's also incredibly intelligent despite often acting the idiot. "A wise man can imitate a fool but a fool can never imitate a wise man" Along with Bob Marley and Johnny Cash he is one of my idols.
"economic disaster" "2019 or whatever" "Networks competing for ratings" "Government's involved" "Coordinate with networks to keep people off the streets" "Government, networks, economic disaster and dictatorship are all connected" You can't complain about TDS when the man tries his best to be a cartoon villain
For those saying Arnold looks skinny here, just like that period between Pumping Iron and Conan where he wasn't as muscular, Arnold didn't train 100% year round (or take steroids year round, for that matter). Probably did just enough to maintain. Based on his haircut, this is clearly either before or during his shooting of "Red Heat", which would come out a year later. You can tell in that movie that Arnold looks a bit smaller than he did before. Heck, as a kid I noticed it too (watched all his movies growing up in the 80's and 90's). Also, look up Arnold's recent interview where he talks about the open heart surgery he had back in '97 when he was 50. His family had a history of heart conditions, and him and his doctor actually planned the surgery years ahead to work around his shooting schedule. Seeing as how Arnold was turning 40 here in this video, I'd imagine he was starting to worry that the steroids would hurt him prematurely. So he probably lightened his doses, and of course, dropped what looks like a good 20 pounds. Smart move. Can't be the wolf on top of the hill forever, right?
He lost 25 lbs during Predator. He barely weighed 200 lbs for Red Heat. Some say, he fell ill and lost the weight while other reports I read, he chose to become slim and slender.
The novel is OK. Its totally different though and if they ever made a movie version of the novel they would need to completely change the ending. I don't want to spoil it but no way could they do it.

Considering how disappointed Schwarzenegger was with The Running Man - his preferred Director was fired I believe - he sells it very well. Edit: Stephen King's book is worth a read.
Arnold was being non-confrontational with his answer about the meaning of this movie...nonetheless, one of my all time favorite Arnold movies next to Raw Deal!
It’s funny at the beginning it says 2017 then 18 months later in the movie it’s 2018 haha it’s 2018 now and no running man and Arnie in this interview says it took place in 2019 or something 4 months left and then it’s 2019
He did naturally lose weight in Predator. I thought he looked his best in that film, though. The definition was incredible, because of the natural loss of copious amounts of water weight in the humid jungle heat. There's no way you can avoid it. However, he does look rather malnourished here. The skin looks pale and his cheeks are extremely gaunt. He looks ill.
WarlordRising Think about it though. If this was just after shooting The Running Man, it would make sense. Ben Richards was sent to prison, so he’s not going to have the chance to pump iron and eat lots of protein whilst incarcerated. If Arnold had maintained his built like a brick shithouse physique, his portrayal of an escaped prisoner would have been less realistic.
He made Running Man before predator, I thought it was the other way around. He looks very ripped in this interview, just like he has start preparing for Predator. But he put on more muscles before that film. We noticed he look different in Predator than Commando 2 years prior. Was his muscles smaller? No, he was just leaner and more ripped. Arnold got even more ripped during the film, because there was some issues about the food supply in the jungle. Take a look at his shoulders in Predator, you can se the lines and very clear cut between arms ans shoulders, chest etc. Really beautiful body!
He's becoming more and more wealthy as an individual and that in turn is linked to being leaner and fitter with more cardio based exercises rather than bodybuilding. Plus he's aware of long term heart health so has moved away from steroids and weightlifting as he wants to be around to spend his millions rather than die early of heart problems
Yes he has been thinking long term and lived his life in a smart way. I visualized a huge part of his successful life even before going to America, but some success came with experience, improvising and by never do same mistakes twice. This way there was no mistakes, just learning and new challenges to grow and develop. He's a smart guy. Long life for Arnold!
Yeah, he lost 25 lbs during that time and was barely 200 lbs around this time. If you look at Red Heat, he was exactly like this in that movie. This interview was shot when he was doing Red Heat.
he is not a big frame really to begin with. he just was well proportioned with muscle mass and of course built it easy enough with how he trained. he had a bit of height on his side as well with helped with over all size. you would not call him a "big boned" fella. that title I would give to lou ferrigno if anyone if using another body builder of his generation as well for an example.
Didn't make any sense how he explained it...??...he said it was only short but too get the fear n facial reactions at that speed it must have been quiet a distance
lol "the time 2013 or 2019 or something'' arnie is still a badass in 2019 as im writing this terminator 6 came out a month and a half ago. also he says the years 2013 and 2019 are future times well in less then a week 2019 will be the past and well 2013 has been the past for like 6 or 7 years
He looks a lil smug. Lightened up as the interview goes on. I can’t and don’t blame him, I’m sure interviewers and critics were assholes at the Time about his movies early on. Hes defensive, which I would be as well. He’s very articulate though. He’s my favorite. Love it that he wore the big rings like he does today
Really? I had no idea must have been bad what happened? coz in predator he still had very decent size on him and in running man thought he looked ok to
He lost 25 lbs during the shooting of Predator and was barely 200 lbs. Some say, he fell ill and lost the weight while other reports I have read, Arnold decided to become very slim.
yeah.. the reports I had heard claimed he lost weight on purpose.. he wanted his character to be slimmer to appear more in line with how real special forces soldiers were built like.. not like a heavy body builder after all. combine that with the weather they were shooting in and yeah I doubt most people could hold weight well in those conditions.
