    “I just filmed a movie called Predator”. I love catching these interviews right before a historic movie hits like this. Nobody has any idea how epic this little blurb of s movie he just mentioned is going to be yet. So cool to see things like that. I watch these old clips just for things like that.

    Miss the Carson talk show and others of that time....when they always had big name guests. People we knew. Then again today most have retired or passed away....or are working `part-time`e.g. Tom Cruise...one of the few big name stars still working......Keanu Reeves....Stallone...all `PT`....
    We`re in a `dark ages of entertainment`....hardly any big names, big names retired or no longer with us...no origial films....

    I met Ed McMahon in early mid 90's in the village, NYC. Not sure why they chose that location (essentially in the middle of the street) but where doing a phone call to, I believe, Dick Van Dyke. Now that I recall it, Ed was not swarmed by onlookers. I had an opportunity to shake his hand. But Ed kept saying on the phone "Now back to you Dick" so many times and so quickly that his younger production staff advised him not to repeat Dick's name so many times like that. This is a true story. Yes, I overheard it and it sounded awkward. But truly glad I had the opportunity to meet 'em.

    Arnold and Stallone were the 2 biggest action movies stars in the 80s. Although Arnold's movies raked in more money in total, Stallone was a more talented actor. Maybe not oscar worth but he had that special something. He knew what could trigger patriotism and motivation in his movies like Rocky and Rambo. Let's not forget he created Rocky. Arnold was given very original roles like Terminator and Predator which became huge successes. You can't compare these guys. They're just different but were very successful at what they did and very smart individuals in real life. They marked a generation. You don't see that anymore. No competition there. Just 2 action movie stars with huge presence.

    • @AdrianKimmett1
      @AdrianKimmett1  6 років тому +2

      Absolutely Sly just had way more talent. Very good actor and writer. Rocky, the more recent Creed, his role in Copland comes to mind as one of his best performances as well. You'll never see Arnold or any of his movies at the Oscars but Sly has been nominated for multiple Oscars, a movie he wrote has won the Oscar for best picture, he has won a Golden Globe for best supporting actor, he was nominated for the Oscar for best actor and best screenplay. There is just literally no comparison between him and Arnold in this dept.
