I was on doc prescribed pain killers AND benzos for 15 yrs or so. Always took them as prescribed. One day my doc went out of town before taking care of my refills. For several days i was introduced to a whole new world of pain. Cold turkey from the pain killers was bad but the benzos were horrific. No sleep, siezures etc.... dont just go cold turkey without some sort of support. It will destroy you, if you let it. And yes, when you are at your worst in life, 90 percent will turn their back on you. Find better friends,

How can anyone be critical of this guy and call him a drugy etc when he was prescribed pills and thought they're safe to take. The Dr is accountable and should be ashamed of himself/ herself. They should make it clear that these pills are EXTREMELY addictive and should only be taken for 3 or 4 days tops. Keep strong mate and well done for building yourself up. Hats off to u
That's not how chronic pain, such as Joey, works. It doesn't go away after the injury heals. It'll be there for the rest of your life. And when the only solution is painkillers that's what you do. Most of the opioid epidemic has been caused by not just over prescribing but them cutting legitimate lain patients off and treating them like addicts so they move to heroin or street drugs to get rid of their pain, which is laced with fentanyl occasionally. It's multifaceted but legitimate life long pain sufferers are the ones suffering because of these new regulations. I've been taking pain meds responsibility since I was 13 because of birth defects that cause pain along with tons of surgery. I never had an issue and never abused it but now I'm taking less than I was taking as a child despite my pain issues getting worse. It's ridiculous.

I’ve had an upper respiratory infection for the last 3 weeks and because I’m prescribed benzodiazepines for anxiety I can’t even get cough syrup (I’m allergic to DXM) Its sick what the DEA is doing to people.
I battled oxy's for 6 years, it was absolute hell. Im still shocked how I managed to find/make money out of sheer desperation during those days. Subutex definitely saved my life!
It’s both drugs and not. Life is so crazy at times. Addictions we cling to to help is get through. Times are crazy. Things are changing so fast. Life is short. We don’t have it all figured out. I am body builder and i am very strict with training eating and rest.i am disciplined in that area.i have a strong monkey on my back with pain killers. I just cant get off.i needed to hear this
Omg mad respect I’m on methadone because I was addicted to diamorphine and hydrocodone.Every day I Ache from head to toe I have no energy I feel depressed I can’t sleep bit feel so tired I could die ! I lay there for hours with bolts of tingling pain going though my legs and zapping in my brain ! Then I have my medicine and for a few hours I feel ok but still in pain and that’s just reducing my dose I’m not even off it! All I get is “it lasts 72 hrs and no one else withdraws same day” I’ve always had a super high metabolism as a kid I was always hungry at night even though me and my siblings where well fed.so I must have some kind of condition where thing s go though me faster than anyone else. I am 41 and eat what I like even on a bulk I’m under 10% fat people say I’m lucky if only they would feel this pain . I want to get well and help others ! Anyone else suffering pls get help god bless Mick chapman
Get red meng da kratom instead of the methadone, safer way to detox from withdrawal. Takes about 5 days to get most of it out of your system. Start juicing a lot of spinach and celery several times a day, that detoxes you, drink bentonite clay, helps detox, do sauna every day, helps detox. Feel pretty shite for about 5 to 10 days, but all I mentioned will decrease it a LOT.

I am glad I am immune to pain killer addiction. I take narcotics for a day and I simply lose my ability to take a shit. By day three I am so uncomfortable that even the narcotics don't make me feel anything good.
