I went to go and track him down so I could thank him for such a amazing piece of music that impacted my entire life. RIP Stan Lepard. I am so sorry that I did not get to thank you. I hope you are in a better place now and know that you changed at least one life.

I am reminded that another composer/producer did music for Microsoft a few years before. Brian Eno composed the Windows Welcome sound for both Windows 95 and Windows NT4. Anyway, RIP to Stan Lepard for this quite alluring little ditty.

When I first heard this I just sat there, slowly nodding my head with a smile... Damn, it was a cool track! I don't know who, or why they put this in, but... Today, I watched two videos from a youtuber called Michael MJD about the origins and history of both Bliss (Windows XP's default wallpaper and the most seen image in the entire world) and title.wma (also known as Windows Welcome Music) . It's impressive how such small details can create not one childhood memory, not two, but thousands of childhood memories all around the world. ❤

apparently one of the devs just found it sitting there after looking through various source trees for microsoft stuff (most likely the internet explorer source tree) and decided to stick it into xp (after converting it into a wma)

(this is a true story about me) while i hurted my self on a treadmill on full speed i fell because i just didn't run on time i fell back but thankfully there wasn't a wall but there was a couch on the back i sped back on the treadmill i got alot of treadmill rashes and when i got patched up the only thing i wanted to lisson to is title.wma because is the best song to clear depression and sadness so when any of you get hurt or sad lisson to tiltle.wma but now im alright and good:D but everyone hope i don't fall on a treadmill agian and i will never go on a treadmill again
