  • "PRIME IS DANGEROUS TO DRINK" - KSI & Logan Paul's Brand Exposed
PRIME Hydration is a drink that was founded by Logan Paul & KSI, PRIME was initially launched as a healthier more tasty alternative to the likes of Gatorade, Lucozade etc. Logan Paul & KSI found tremendous success through their first drink but a year later they launched PRIME Energy, an energy drink with very high concentrated amounts of caffeine. PRIME has been under fire for being a "kids brand" that is promoting a drink with very high caffeine levels. KSI & Logan Paul are yet to address this personally but PRIME has made a statement.
What do you think about PRIME Energy??

The big issue isn’t that it’s 200mg of caffeine. It’s that it’s marketed to kids and they pushed a hydration drink that kids think they can drink 4-5 of them a day
Now with an energy drink and not enough awareness around the product that children will drink it the same way they drink the hydration version. Sure some responsibility is on the parents but it’s quite difficult when a UA-camr has been pushing how great their product is to all the others
Responsibility lays on both the consumer and the brand
All the other energy brands aren’t actively marketing to children.
Edit: let’s remember Juul got flavors shut down for marketing to kids so I don’t see this as any different

I'll play the part of Prime's lawyers here, "Was Prime Energy Drink marketed to children or was it marketed as any other energy drink? Is it Prime's fault that Parents aren't watching what their children are consuming? Did we not label the drinks accordingly and said that it is not suitable/recommended for children? There is clearly a separation between HYDRATION and ENERGY. Do we need to take responsibility for what parents are supposed to be doing? Is it our fault if the consumer blindly purchases without reading the label?"

I made the mistake of purchasing the Prime energy drink for my son. I was foolish. I did not read the label. I just happened to come across Prime, in a can, at my local grocery store. I bought 2 or 3 cans. Once I got home and was putting everything away. I took the time to actually look over the can. That is obviously when I realized that I had purchased the wrong Prime. I have no problem with the Prime hydration drink. I have had my fair share of Prime. It is quite good. I'm just happy that I realized the Prime in cans were energy drinks. My son doesn't need that. So I gave it away to the kids next door.

Caffeine is such a shit source of energy. All its doing for you is stimulating the stress response and taxing your adrenal system rather than actually promoting cellular energy. The average gym goer is putting straight poison in their body. Food dyes that are known carcinogens, garbage minerals that are presented in forms that aren't bioavailable at all, artificial flavorings... most shit you will find in retail stores is straight up garbage. Same is true for basic over the counter supplements. They sell you minerals in a form that is absolutely worthless and unusable by your body. Not all vitamins/minerals are absorbable by the body. Most major brands are selling filler.

However the main problem with PRIME IMO is the brand is targeted towards a young demographic. PRIME Hydration and PRIME Energy have very little distinction.
Do I think the blame is just in PRIME? No Parents should be looking out for what they are giving their kids. But I also think PRIME as a brand knows it’s demographic and could of done a better job making it very clear that these are different drinks completely.

The problem isn't Prime itself its the fact they've released a energy drink under the same brand and marketed it to their fanbase which the majority is kids..my brothers school had to ban Prime due to kids selling it/trading and drinking Prime like its pop, with any energy drink if you drink can after can in the same day its going to cause issues and the school had to ban the drink due to concerns over kids health, again not because the drink is bad (personally think its overrated rip offs) but because kids are drinking it constantly as they think they're cool.
For comparison in supermarkets Prime is £2 or £2.20 yet you can get FULL SUGAR Pepsi 2L bottles for £2.40 so why would anyone pay £2 for a 500ml bottle? the fact drinks like pepsi etc have full sugar tax on them and are only 20p more for a 2L bottle shows how Prime is just a money grab anyway.

I've not seen Prime Energy directed towards children, it literally says 18+ on the can and all the information is there and has been the entire time. There is also a clear distinction in the two products with the fact that they are totally different packaging. If you think 200mg is a crazy amount, don't buy the drink. I don't have caffeine period but I imagine the majority of people that drink coffee/tea/red bull, have multiple a day and don't think about their intake, so why is it an issue for Prime. Be responsible and there's no issues. The company have done nothing wrong - if you believe it to be wrong, speak to the regulators as it is within regulatory guidelines. People are out here drinking 1k calorie starbucks drinks, eating fast food every day, drinking coffee/energy drinks every day, eating tons of overly-processed foods, etc. To me its been clear for a long time that people just don't seem to value their health more than the constant short term satisfaction they get from these foods/drinks. I knew for months now because I work as a courtesy clerk, and my store had to let customers know on multiple occasions that the cans were energy drinks and not hydration like the bottles

Coke isn’t a energy drink so why is it being compared for caffeine?!?!?

It really isn't that big of deal (in the UK at least)
    1) Prime Energy cans sold in the UK only have 140ml of Caffeine (less then monster)
    2) you have to be 16 and have ID to even be sold a can
so realistically if kids are getting access to this is really is down to the parents.

  • @terrysaxmusic

All parents should keep PRIME energy from their children, but buy them PRIME hydration which is the safest PRIME drink for kids.

Ksi and logan paul do plenty wrong but I don't see the scandal here. Prime hydration is fine, prime energy clearly states not for kids.
Parents should be reading what they're buying. Especially if you don't know anything about what prime is.
Seems like a hit piece from the other energy companies worried how popular prime is becoming.

Seems like a witch hunt considering all the pre workouts on the market, and 5hr Energy is 1.93oz and has 200mg of caffeine and Prime is 12oz w/200mg of caffeine, lmao, what a fucking joke the government is dedicating resources to this.

    I’m not a Logan - Fan but bro the can’s are obviously energy - drink’s . Most Rock-Star’s are 250-300 Plus MG’S Of Caffeine . Where Is The Confusion . ? .. ? . ?

5 hour energy 200, monster 160, reign 300, bang 300, rockstar 160. If they get banned then they all should. The reason they use red bull to compare is because of the low caffeine for an energy drink, if not the lowest.

As someone that doesn’t particularly care for Logan Paul and KSI. Hell I don’t even like the Prime drinks. I do think however this is a non issue. When Bang came out it was 300mg of caffeine and was targeted to younger people. Even Celsius has 200 mg of caffeine. Also feel it’s a clear distinction that with a can that looks like that it is most likely an energy drink. Idk maybe ignorant of me.

I'm a grown-a** man, and drinking a glass of vietnamese coffee will get me pretty buzzed. Guess how much caffeine's in that?
    A mere 100 mg, half of Prime's.
Insane amount of caffeine in Prime.
