Браво❤это прекрасно! Белкин лучший в этом!
I saw Boris Belkin play this concerto at the L.A. Music center in the early '80s, & his playing was phenomenal as is here. He takes the 3rd mov. at a very brisk tempo, which I like.
Highly recommend this DVD on Amazon. Quality is amazing sound-wise considering this performance is almost a half century old.
Un' arco immenso ....
What a right hand!
bernstein or belkin?

My father´s favourite Master Piece ...
Sublime
That eyebrow raise and slight grin by the musician in the background at 11:58 always gets me.. is he impressed or was there a moment of questionable intonation there?
I also find that note interesting. Just discovered that the playing is a deviation from conventional practise after a quick comparison with other versions. I guess it is a risky move to play up to the very end of the fingerboard, and that he is amused by his artistic choice and its outcome (sounds like either a singing bird or a boiling teapot).
Tchaikovsky left a metronome marking of crotchet = 126 for the 1st mov. Lenny/Belkin, surprisingly, take it well under that...
how come soloist not shake hands with Bernstein at the end ? Did he forget or was he unhappy with the accompaniment maybe ?
You'd expect a musician with the Liszt haircut would be a pianist... A virtuoso just the same!
👏👏👏👏👏👏😂😂😂 Liszt haircut.
I had such a crush on him when I discovered him in the 1990's lol
@@megabugginout A lot of long-haired violinists just wanted to look like Paganini.
I much prefer Kogan’s performance as a soloist but nothing can top this version’s orchestra as led by Bernstein.
