@Sam Jones these classic sports cars have so much thrill when you drive them. There's so much noise in the cockpit. The experience just feels more raw than what cars can deliver today. I've been super lucky enough to get rides in some incredible super cars but nothing puts a bigger smile on my face, and generates more thrills than these old Ferrari's or Porsche's.
He actually knows how to handle the power, no rapid acceleration, hence no drifting and traction loss or potential accident's. The Testarossa ans 348 Ts are my favourite Ferraris, what a sound.
That car is 10 years older than me but it has always been my favorite car and will always be. Modern cars are great too but there's something special about 80's sport cars. Thank you for that great quality video :)
It's called beauty and proportions. Modern cars are a bit too masculine and juvenile. The source of inspiration for Pininfarina was the shape of female body. That's why older cars are more beautiful.

I got to do a tune-up... and test drive... one of the highlights of my career as an exotic car technician good shifts...... curves on the freeway don't mean much until you get beyond 120 ;;~}

Got no hope. Early U.S spec Testarossas couldn't even beat out a modern hot hatch like a Civic Type R or Focus RS on a roll, let alone anything more muscular. Not a fast car today, but it's about the theatre and occasion of the drive than the raw performance.

Something real soothing about the purring sound this car makes... ...and man is it refreshing to see such a "simple" car; not cluttered with a huge touchscreen, gloss black piastics and bulky dashboard layouts. I appreciate that driving this is driving a tool in it's purest form. Everything is driver-centric. Hope someone buys it soon! :D
Yeah, I like the '79 Honda CBX, '83 DX7, '84 KX76 and KX88, '85 KX5, '86 RD-1000, K5, and FZ-1, '87 DX7II and D-50, '88 VZ-1, '89 911 Turbo, Esprit, the Testarossa, and the 1990 Diablo. '81 Jupiter-8 is not bad, but it's more for the hipsters. I'd prefer the '84 Juno-106 (SysEx implementation on the sliders) and the '85 GTO which is beautiful. F40 is for the juvenile boy racer types, it's quite ugly.
Long before the McLaren GT, IMO Ferrari had already achieved the recipe of mid-engined grand tourer. Even if this car was meant to be Ferrari's flagship and compete with the Lamborghini Countach, you can see how more spacious, comfortable and usable it is. Harry Metcalfe took his example on a long trip from the UK to Morocco, reaching the Sahara desert, and the car performed incredibly well. For those who haven't seen it, I recommend watching that episode of Harry's garage, IMO it's one of the best.
I've never had the opportunity to drive a Testarossa, or any other Ferrari for that matter. Back when I was 26 years old in college, my one instructor let me sit in the driver's seat of her husband's 1991 Testarossa. I will never forget that. Surrounded by the gauges and the gated shifter was a thrill in itself. I have never sat in another car that felt like that. I hope to drive one someday. Even if it's only for five minutes.
To be honest the Testarossa is the bonna fide king of the Miami feelin gives that feeling to drive into the sunset the 80s were good times. Nothing can best the testarossa and I hope that it gets a retro remake into a EV like some of the cars
@@tomwilson5452 "Weighty price tag". You can get one of these for roughly $100,000. That sounds like a lot of money, but in Ferrari-land it's getting near the bottom of the stack and that kind of money buys a lot of seemingly more mundane classic cars that we wouldn't think twice about goosing when handed the keys (i.e. 911s, C2 Corvettes, etc.). They made a LOT of Testarossas.

Very true. The Testarossa it has noting to prove. Why drive like an a hole? Its exhausting and you don't get to enjoy the car as much.

In actual use those seatbelts were a pain to deal with.

it is spelled "testarossa" with "a", it simply means "red head" in Italian.

He is changing gears too early in the rev range, 5k rpms isn't enough for a full power pull.
I suppose when he's driving a 32 year old car with such a weighty price tag, redlining wouldn't be a bright idea.
I assume it's because its not his, and there is literally video evidence that the owner will see on how he treated his car.
