This I have noticed several times, especially when changing views, if you stay in a streight forward view in cockpit all the time, it too will slow down over time.
Thanks, The dark interior is super annoying on my setup for sure. Glad it is a bug, I thought I had messed up my TV LOL. #2 bug may be an issue for me, but since I watched another video about deleting Nvidia cache folder on an ongoing basis has vastly sped up my sim, may be combined with this bug IDK
The contrast between the light part of the display and the dark part of it is crazy enough as it is, but if you peer at it at a 45 degree angle perpendicular to it, you can actually see slight glitching in the lattice running across the x axis. I've tried fixing it by removing the back panel and replacing it with a 500ppi backlight panel but it still persists nonetheless. In hindsight, I should've just gone with OLED and ignored the technical side of it. 🤷🏻♂️ The flinx fur keyboard got completely obliterated btw lol.
Idk if it is related, I’ve yet to be able to fly above roughly FL240 in any aircraft without constant stutters (2-3 stutters per second) regardless of aircraft/any graphic setting/any resolution/any weather/ any location. Identical stuttering occurs when near a coast line and the ocean is visible on screen at any altitude. Been like this since the first beta. Getting pretty frustrated at this point. I really don’t want to go to the competition.
not only cockpit too dark but outside also too bright when I sit on the cockpit. I hope you guys know outside brightness has problem and will fix to it
a simple setting in windows10 clears ram every like 5 minutes or whatever you assign it to be. this is most simple basic knowledge you should have before even thinking of do something with ortho imagery and other consuming stuff. i informed ben years ago about memory unload issues but i think he did not understand. At the time the issue was when flying from L.A. to San diego X-plane would crash to desktop halfway, reason is that san diego needs to load while L.A. is not being unloaded. now, question is: is this an x-plane issue to solve or a user's responsibility in terms of managing his ram space on the operating system. let me know your thoughts.
I love X-Plane. It's my favorite flight simulator. Even so, I haven't upgraded to 12 yet. I want to. I really do. Why haven't I upgraded? The VR implementation is very slow and the VR clouds are very blocky, chunky and low res, and I fly VR exclusively these days. While 12 performance is fine in flatscreen, flatscreen just doesn't do it for me anymore. I don't feel like I'm in the plane like I do in VR. This is why I keep harping on the need for more optimization and parallelization on this channel and the X-Plane channel. Hopefully 12 will get better to the point it eclipses 11, but it's not there yet. At least it's not for me.
@@xforcepc yes sir, mine is 4GB 3050 gpu yet even on low settings they get blurried to the lower waves. I think the minimum Vram Requirement should be 6 for this simulator since it happens with 4's as well.
@@hakanr339b Happens with 6GB as well - at least with earlier betas. My old gaming laptop has a Mobile Nvidia 3060 with 6GB and blurs were an issue. With my new system that has a 3090 with 24GB., I've seen GPU ram go as high as 14GB.
@@paulwblair i agree... I thought 3080 with 10 gig would be more than very capable handling xp12.. it is capable.. if it has more vram... Turning down texture to medium for a "fair" compromise at the worst scene feels a bit of a downer.
I had the ram issue already in xp11.. just after longer flights sometimes the fps would drop significantly and not come back up again until the sim was restarted..
Are there any solutions to the antialiasing issues? Mine is up to date and I can’t read any of my instruments without having to zoom all the way up close. Thanks
You really nitpicked these two. The forums and social networks are filled with poor FPS figures, flickering panels, weather issues, cloud issues. Laminar is completely silent about all these. It's like you people live on a parallel universe.
I agree! It's like the things that stick out the most aren't being talked about enough to put pressure in the right places! I don't know if it's to keep Austin happy or what! But yes FPS is one, the other MASSIVE ISSUE is antialiasing. I've got my settings turned to the max and I see flickering trees and distant objects, then airport lights at night it looks like there are a few hundred people standing around with camera flashes going off in the distance (Looks near enough like small fireworks!) Then the very strangely shaped Cumulonimbus clouds, some clouds types that look as if someone sliced the tops of them off with a soft butter knife. Come on guys can we all get on Austin's case about these bigger things as a whole community or have most just resigned to the fact that Xplane doesn't need to look visually authentic. It's so glaring now when you got EG MSFS as a benchmark. I know exactly what the road map is for MSFS you get to understand what's the main points being worked on and you get to see what the community wants and what the community is seeing a bugs. We dont see this in the Xplane community which is a shame as there's now no rush and accountability, time scales....you've essentially just gotta hope something get's done
@@xforcepc As Austin's friend, your opinion might hold more weight than ours. You seem to provide him a level of constructive criticism, and that's the best kind! It's actionable and well-intended.
the cockpits arent to dark, they were terribly and completely unrealistically lit before. what is missing are the sun visors. I absolutely adore the fact they are realistically lit now and that iris adaption is very well simulated, and needs to be considered in the view setup.
I'm lucky because I do long haul with the Felis 742 last one yesterday 11 hours LFPG/SBGR no CDT so far... Tks for the video anyways! ;-)
You are Right! Lots of bugs with this new simulator . Big problems with flight plans😰

Very cool. Thanks for all the visual updates. This truly helps us understand more about the sim!

I don't even use X-Plane and these bugs affected me.

let me know your thoughts.
SOME of the memory leaks have been stopped so the leak is not as bad, but there is still some work to do.
Is there a way to fix a gpu that has a hdmi popped out ever since that happened my pc stutters
Those are BIG bugs
I have to say, and I never expected to say this as a longtime XP user, but MSFS in 2023 is kicking Laminars butt big time….

Interesting. My XP11 goes up to 20gb of RAM usage, and it quits in few secs.
Currently waiting for vulkan vram related blurry textures to disappear, also I hope the visual updates keep coming more and more!
That apparently happens when you don't have enough VRAM.

Would this be considered a memory leak?
As a retired software developer, it sure sounds like the classic symptoms of a memory leak.
It's certainly presents that way
