I also review this racket (4U) on my channel. But you're the best in describing how a racket feels. For me it's solid, stable, but very demanding even at 4U. My shoulder and wrist can't handle it. The power is beast but need to hit right to get the best of it.
Absolutely agreed that this racket tires you out after a few games, even more than the 99 Pro. I am currently using the 100zz and despite its extra stiff shaft, I do not feel any exhaustion like the 99 Pro and the Ryuga do to me. I hope you can do a comparison of the high-end power rackets like 100zz vs. Li-ning's latest Axforce 90 series vs. Victor TKF-C Enhanced Edition. A friend of mine just bought the TKF-C and I can honestly say that it is a super smooth power racket -- the kind of smoothness Yonex has never accomplished. But I still like the Yonex feel and will be their loyal customer for years to come.
I've joined the dark side 👀😵 , after finally being able to buy a Thruster fc. The nanoflares have got to go 😅. The Ryuga feels nice. But it's way too head heavy for me.
Thanks for the review. waiting for more victor racket review. I have so far used only Yonex rackets but feels like I need to test others as well including victor. So keep those reviews coming. 🙏
Tan Kian Meng, XD player from Malaysia used the Ryuga for short period of time last year during the post Sudirman and Thomas cup timeline. Before switching to Thruster F this year
I've got this racket as one to one replacement for my broken frame, Victor Auraspeed 100X. Thanks to Victor Malaysia. I would considered myself intermediate player at best. For me, personally, power is huge. I can generate so much power and it is clear ahead of my Second Generation Yonex Astrox 88D in term of power. My smashes pack so much punch at much steeper angle if compare to my 88D and I don't have to use as much energy to do so. And my smashes are more consistent with Ryuga. Clearing shuttle to back of the court is no issue. But Ryuga feel a tad laggy if compared to 88D when it come to defend and the drive shot not as good as 88D. Although it is not to far behind. Currently, Ryuga is my go to racket. I was a bit skeptical at first about this racket until my first session with it. Another racket that i would compare this to is Lining 3D Calibar 900C. I would say the power is on par between those two. But Lining is far more demanding for player such as myself.
I've been thinking about buying this racket since I tried one of my friend's Ryuga and I felt like it fit me like a glove. I really like the repulsivness and feedback of the 100zz, but decided it felt a bit like a balance racket compared to my 99 pro. The Ryuga is the perfect mix between these two rackets and I didn't find it too tiring to use, and it was quite easy to generate power with forearm and wrist rotation for clears when the shuttle was slightly behind me. However I did notice that defense was slower than the 100zz, but I had gotten used to my 99 pro so I don't really mind. I'm debating on whether if I should try more high end Yonex rackets before getting the Ryuga, so what other rackets do you think is similar in terms of feel and headheaviness?
Great video Ck, would like to see you review other brands instead of the big three. Brands like Apacs, Mizuno, Forza, Babolat, etc? See how they differ from the big brands.
I'm using this racquet, and 4u version is perfect for non-professional players. I'm wondering that how the Ryuga (4U) is when compared to Astrox 88D 2018 version (4U).
Hey CK, I just bought a ryuga 1 recently. However, I have my suspicions that the racket might be fake. The racket doesn’t feel as heavy as people describe it as, and after comparing with the 99 pro (which people usually say feels similar), it feels way too light. Furthermore, the serial # doesn’t begin with TW, CN, or CA. It begins with “NAT”, which i’ve never heard of. The smashing does not feel nearly as satisfying as any high end racket, which I feel like is strange. Is it possible to tell if it is a fake with these details? Thanks a lot!
Hi there, from what i know there's a sticker stating the name and weight/grip size of the racket at its wooden handle after removing the original grip. This applies for all the authentic Yonex/Li-Ning/Victor racket. Try removing the original grip and check whether there's any sticker on the handle. Cheers mate.
I have the Thruster Ryuga (3U), but it doesnt feel like a 3U racket at all. I used to play/sometime still play with my Yonex Voltric Z-Force 2 (3U). For me the racket is really fast and has a lot of power behind it, but still less than my Z-Force 2. I don't feel like it would be worth playing with 4U or even 5U version, but maybe that's just me because I used to play the Z-Force 2 and I am a hard hitter. I am mainly a doubles player but love this racket.
@@CKYew ok thanks. I didn't like the Axforce 90 Dragon so ended up selling it. Kept the Axforce 90 tiger. Looks like I'll have to get a Axforce 80 again in 3U. I've been comparing this with my ZF2s. Had a blast because it's the usual head heavy, stiff shaft singles racquet. Love them both to bits! Fun fact: My Victor Thruster Ryuga is actually Lee Zii Jias! I caught his racquet when he won the 2022 Asian Championships in the Philippines.
Hi there ! I was wondering if you’re able to show a picture or share with us what the serial code for LZJ’s racket ! You’re very lucky. It should be “LEE Z J + a number” located in the shaft near the cone. Just very curious on his racket specification !
@minji most of the pro’s rackets are definitely different than commercial! From what I know, Kevin sanjaya’s 88spro is head heavier than the one available for us to buy. Lee Chong Wei’s Duora 10 rackets are all repainted Voltric Z Force / AX99. Lin Dan’s LD Force are all ZF2 / AX99. Kento Momota’s AX99Pro is also slightly head heavier. Kenta Nishimoto’s Nanoray Z speed is actually a repainted NF800. Fun fact: Lee Zii Jia’s AX100ZZ was customised too and had a Arc11Pro cone. Question now is if his Ryuga is also customised. I heard from someone it’s more compact head (smaller head frame) and heavier. But this I can’t confirm.
@@nicholasng8322 Hey! My Thruster Ryuga's serial code on the shaft is LEE.Z.J.8. It's a 3UG5 strung with VBS-66 Nano around 32lbs. I'm not sure how I can share a picture on YT but if you know a way, let me know!

I actually got this racket recently. I’m normally using the 88d pro (other rackets are the 100zz and 7DG) I really enjoy the Ryuga, I use it for doubles, mainly for rear court, I couldn’t agree more with tiredness after a few games. You need good strength to use it otherwise the swing speed will be too slow and goes against you. Arm tires out quickly at 3U. If I am correct, Ryuga II won't have 4U in Europe like the original Ruyga.
