As a new player, I came in with the idea that the game would have the difficulty of Dead Island, so without fear, I decided to start directly in Nightmare mode. I finished the game, and I have to say that while it's true that it is an acceptable difficulty, it's not recommended if you're looking for something more "relaxed." It's not that it's an impossible difficulty; the idea of avoiding combat or using tactics to distract enemies and take advantage of your environment is quite good and enjoyable. However, when you reach Old Town, it's as if the game becomes too annoying. You literally spend your time constantly running away from virals due to explosions and random noises throughout the map. It's like the zombies suddenly become bullet sponges by magic, and that's frustrating. No matter how much you improve your weapons, it feels like you're still using a simple wooden stick, not to mention the demolishers. So, as a new player, I recommend starting in normal mode to fully enjoy the game, and after completing it, you can venture into Nightmare mode.
It sure is harder. On hard difficulty the vendors don't sell ammunition. But on the other hand, once you have a good enough weapon, most enemies will die in 1-2 hits. Even volatiles, on hard I can kill them with 2 bonks to the head with my Inmate's Kiss. Only alpha volatiles are a real threat. On nightmare the enemies are MUCH tougher. With a 6k damage weapon I need to land 4-5 hits to kill common zombies. And the infinite ammunition doesn't help much either cause as soon as you fire a non silenced gun, a never ending horde of virals starts to spawn. The free ammunition definitely to deal with human enemies though. The only thing easier in Nightmare than other difficulties is to level up because of the XP multiplier. But if you die, you'll lose ALL of your current progress to the next level, so I think its balanced
Yes still has use of the charge skill to golf club zombies and is rather good early (reasonably you'll outpace it over time but still nice to keep, plenty of money and a funny weapon).
I only play solo and I like that on Nightmare you get WAY better deals from the shops. But the zombies take annoyingly long time to kill, sometimes it feels as if they're invincible and the most annoying thing of all is virals constantly spawning for no reason. Doesn't make the game harder for me, just more annoying and frustrating I love this game tho, not hating. When I played it several years ago I don't remember this constant viral spawning happening, idk what they changed but it sucks and sad to see
I’m playing the game on pc and beat the game on the Xbox one years ago and I’m having a blast again. Currently playing on Nightmare mode and man everything is a sponge lol I just have to play smarter. The human enemies are soooo annoying when there’s multiple of them. I crafted a bow and it the job easier killing them
i have only played the nightmare mode but i do realise that the insta kill kick is the most usefull ability in the game you can cheese any fastzombie by letting climb like a mini van and while climbing you can insta kick kill them i used this method throughout the entire game. i realise tho when you get grabbed by a zombie early in the game and there is a horde around you you are insta dead there are other things aswell like how the tahir boss fight was really hard because the small guys were almost unkillable when so many where standing together at the same time. getting airdrops early without getting guns was really hard because goons were really strong and they could parry dodge and throw weapons at you, easiest way to kill them was using molotovs before they could see you just throw a molotovs at them and they will be perma stunned and you are free to hack at them as long as you dont stand in the fire ( most times they will just die by the fire tho )
Once you reach legend level, story mode gets to be a bit closer to nightmare although nightmare focuses on headshots and it's harder to remove limbs than story mode. I guess I never get tired of watching virals attack with no arms. After farming the 🐢, you don't have to worry about losing points every time you die
Nightmare is harder, and I think these XP boosts are there because it's harder so you require more skills, for example without tackle skill, the spitter dudes would be hard to kill, because they can evade attacks, spit while they evade your attacks, and is harder to knock them, while with tackle, you can just run at them, get them to the ground and finish them with the instakill kick. Also you gotta be careful cuz' if you activate a volatile at night, in an area without much buildings, they can kill you pretty easily, also the old city is way harder without grappling hook, I was with a stage 3 horde chasing me, and I died only because there was no buildings I could easily climb, it would take a lot of time to climb them, and the evolved volatiles would kill me. Also is almost impossible to kill Rais guys melee, without an OP one that deals lots of damage, so yeah Firearms are almost obligatory cuz' five shots and they kill you. Also virals are op now, they hit so fast you gotta spam ALT + S so you can send them into the ground, and because there's no infinite stamina, if two of them come, then yes, you can do ALT + S two times before getting tired, but when you get tired, you only got kicks, and if there's two, then is assured someone will get up and end your life.
I just started NM in new game +, Im struggling at night. Even with a shotgun that does 2000+ damage per shot, it takes at least 6 headshots and constant UV to kill 1 volatile. I also find the slower healing makes it tough. I think the ammo sales makes sense but they should be limited so you cant max out your ammo at every shop visit. If they sold small amounts so you have to chose when to use your precious rounds, i think it would make more sense. Ik dying light 2 is out but im still debating buying it
Haven't tried it recently! There are guides on UA-cam explaining how to do it, it basically involves spamming jumping through a door. But I might add it took many tries just for me to do it, so it's not a first try kind of thing.
Now I have NOW just started my nightmare but I personally completed it on hard, and was easy probably beach the pool that drop duplicated loot and that.
Just play the game at the start it gets boring eventually on at least you will be kept on your toes to take risks plus guns early game is an easy way to die at night or day I've died multiple times by one viral and since it's early your heavy breathing ahh won't make it far
well considering you leveled so fast it balanced the game to the normal diff anyway. you need to fight normally without knowledge of glitches or cheesy strats for it to feel hard. I played my first playthrough solo on this difficulty and it was literally hell
Title should have been how co-op makes games easy, co-op games aren't optimised for difficulty, otherwise you would get mad at your friends for dying constantly, and never play the game again, if you want challenge, don't do fun fun party time with buddies. Dumb video premise.
Not really that hard. Instakill kicks, Grabs to get the zombies on the ground and instakill, Instakill from behind, Instakill from the sky, Instakill stunned, Instakill when zonbies climb... Like, You can instakill almost everything without weapons and that's pretty crazy. Guns are strong. Shotguns can kill everything. Assault rifles instakill on head almost everytime for humans. I don't know, It's not really hard... Just don't be a monkey with a stick trying to kill a zombies beating the shit out of them.
Techland is very incompetent at programming (just take a look at the bugs in Dead Island and Dying Light) and difficulty design (they went for the laziest way - no scaling for your character and gears whatsoever in NG+ and hard/nightmare while enemy HP and damage scale up). I have zero interest in this franchise after trying NG+ in hard mode.
I just kill one use camo and then use take down from back no need for multiple head shot no 20 hits from mele just one head spin from take down again camo repeat havnt beaten boss yet m low rank lgn rn
hey we dont know each other but i wanna say that GOD still loves u and wants u to be with him all u must do is trust in Jesus and repent of ur sins. GOD loves u more than u can imagine. ☺️☺️☺️😢❤😢❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤

I recently buy the game, try the game in nigthmare and beat it on nigthmare..... i dont wanna touch this game again

At 3:28 he was using a broken weapon, he was using the excaliber sword with has 7 durability and is very easy to break, that is why it was so hard
true!
Yes still has use of the charge skill to golf club zombies and is rather good early (reasonably you'll outpace it over time but still nice to keep, plenty of money and a funny weapon).
Even broken it still does decent dmg for a while until you're further on in the game

@@Alltimefoxthe nigtmare mode in this game looks like somethinf that ubisoft would make o halo devs

I never knew that, moltoks would be useful with this tip thanks.
thanks! I actually learned something new. If you want a more hardcore Dying Light experience I recommend cheking out the Nightrunner mod

Once you become a high legend level and know the game the back of your hand, nightmare game + is story mode difficulty

It's easy because you're playing coop lol
games so easy as long as you cheat lol
EASIER? minimum 2 virals chase u everytime u leave safe zone and require 10 hits with sharp weapon
