One of the things I love about this band is that even with as many instruments as they have, everyone gets their own solo at some point, and they all sound great, not just random and out of place.
In my opinion the truly beautiful thing is that they make it flow and somehow all the transitions between their solos/main melodic instrument, songs etc just flow seamlessly. even when they switch keys and modes they make it so damn seamless. whoever writes and makes those arrangements for their performances is a genius arranger. and of course how each individual adjust their playing according to the feel and demand of the music is just as impressive.
@@lordnehmi5890 Guitarist Machiya does the arrangements and does a magnificent job. He was the one who wrote the arrangement for Bring Me To Life at the 2nd Live Symphonic Night at Osaka-Jo Hall, with Amy Lee. Yuko has said on several occasions that she trusts Machiya implicitly with the arrangements. Prior to WGB he had his own career and was very successful, but him joining WGB was a match made in heaven. He's also a top-notch composer and lyricist.
Type O Negative reminds me of another band that can't be defined in one category. Sure Type O is a whole different ball of wax. It's not fair to compare Type O to Wagakki Band, as both bands appeal to two different audiences. The only similarities is that they get grouped into a certain musical genre unfairly, when their stylings are much harder to peg down to just one genre.
Wasabi's one of the most EMPHATIC drummers. He always has this air of intense concentration like the fate of the known universe is riding on his groove. :D

I never thought I could be surprised by music anymore. These guys just blew that idea out of the water. They're brilliant! Love the mix of traditional and modern. 😎
I'd be happy to have that idea blown out of the water once again for you. Find the ones called Villagers of Ioannina City and have a listen. If you have any recomendations yourself, don't hesitate to post.
I can't love this band enough. I was fortunate enough to see them in Tokyo recently. I'm really sad that they are going into hiatus. I hope the world will be graced by future performances. I hope that I will be fortunate enough to get front row.
@@jjthomas2297 It really depends on your practice time, and what you practice, for example, I've been playing electric for two years (acoustic campfire for 3 before electric) and I practiced almost everyday at least 1.5 hours, now I can play 焔 and the intermission between both songs quite well, I fail some artifical harmonics but I definitely can play it. On the other hand, I can barely improvise on a track, nor do I know more than a handful of scales
Love, love, love this band. I've checked out many bands since last night but no other bands could match them. There are many bands actually do play really, really good but don't have the versatility or the unique vocal - the singer is not present in this particular video but usually sings in the distinctive style and voice. It looks like all the players are having a blast here.
THAT transition from Machiya's soulful solo to impeccable bass lines.. 4:36 is such a pick drop moment, if there's such a thing.. I could watch Asa do that all day.
It's the first time for me to see this band... And I fall in love with your music instantly. Not just "rock" music, but you combine all of the traditional Japanese music instrument, the music style, and such a strong performance... you rock...
These Japanese. Bands are so good why aren't they performing enough around the world I saw BabyMetal at the sonisphere Knebworth Park fronted the main stage with Iron Maiden & Metallica here in the U.K first visit over here it made them outside of Japan

Yeah. I agree. The arrangements work like clockwork: Precise in place.
Real Musicianship

Best band I discovered in 2021! I already can say this 'cause they're like something I was really waiting for without even knowing it already exists.
I felt this comment in my soul
Agree! I'm half-Japanese and grew up with Japanese folk music (my mom played koto). I instantly fell in love with this band from the start.
@@danielmclellan7762 same 😭
A true fusion of cultures that put music back into my soul. So happy I discovered this band before it was too late:-D

They are never afraid of being different from others, so unique, and each one shines in every song! I also love Yuko’s sword dance.

I do agree
This is art on a whole other level, holy shit.
the bassist has got to be the prettiest dude ive ever seen

The only thing I can't believe about this band is how good looking the bassist is.
So good looking in fact a lot of people mistake him as a girl lol

Yea, you should get it in about 5 years or so..If you like that, you might want to listen to Joe Satriani or Eric Johnson. This guy obviously did..
I tried that....it didn't sound anywhere near this.....sad
JJ Thomas also steve vai and petrucci.
