11:19 Your tone sounds very mushy here. Sounds like you either like this type of tone and always dial it to sound this way, OR there is something wrong in your chain (like too much gain, or something is overloaded somewhere, etc). Pretty sure it would sound way better just by turning the gain down, or bypassing the boost pedal or something.
Kind of the nature of Drop A metalcore, very similar to a parkway drive tone. The BKP pickups here are hotter than the previous guitar so yeah it probably could come down half a notch. The whole point was that the capture is the foundation for all this stuff. To take it next level and mix ready you’d want to do some EQ rolloffs anyway which would help… but yeah lowering the gain half a notch would also probably help.
06:00 For Pennywise tones you should try the Recto ampsim ("flatback") in Two Notes Genome. It's perfect. Also : Fletcher from Pennywise doesn't boost his Rectos IIRR. He talks about his tone in the following video : ua-cam.com/video/9xxSpvnABXU/v-deo.html
I keep circling around genome and haven’t done a video for it, awesome tip I’m gonna check this one out Yeah I know they use rectos but “close enough” 🤣. I went to the punk rock museum in Vegas and the dude there has tech’d for them. He said fletch plays at unfathomably loud levels, I imagine that helps
I had a play with them and they felt a bit weak, not sure what’s going on. I also like the full controls over the amp instead of like the NAM/ToneX style generic controls. When I gained the heck out of the input they did sound good just seems a bit hit and miss
Thank you! good content continues, you never disappoint!
Legend 💪
sounds pretty killer---going to have to check it out later on my tonex
Same here.
Those tones sound great! Thank you!
🤜🤛
Sounds great! I'll definitely try it!
Great work! I love that amp. Used to play with a dude with one.
Any of the 5150iii’s are just cheat codes, love them all
Loving all the Pennywise style riffing here :)
Thank you very much
Hopefully it sounds great to you as well 💪

Mate, you've got to try the new pvh50 amp in genome. My favourite 5150 ever@@ampspedalspickups
