    You will NEED to realign your front end after installation, also the included shock extensions with the Southern Truck kit are not needed with these leveling shocks (Only with OEM, or non leveling shocks).

    Ditch the spacers and get a set of Thuren coils, or Carli coils. Also utilizing the jack on the pumpkin and axle is the correct way to lift the front. Dropping the passenger side track bar bolt gives you more droop.

      @moparvelousorbust7085  5 років тому

      James Miller maybe one day when I make a bit more money, I have no complaints about these spacers thus far. Yes, there is more than one way to lift the truck up to gain enough clearance 🤙🏻

    • @kapokidkidkapo719
      @kapokidkidkapo719 4 роки тому

      James Miller are you saying instead of using this level kit the Carli / Thuren coils alone will do the same? Nothing else needed besides the coils alone?????

      @@kapokidkidkapo719 That is Correct. Just use a taller coil spring. I really like the Carli Coils myself.There both really good. Hope this helps.

      @@DirectCurrent4u not just coils. Supposed to use a adjustable track bar, longer sway bar end links and longer shocks to do it right. The best spacer is a daystar because it’s made from polyurethane and not metal.

    Get the longer coils. The 2500 rides like a tow truck and the longer coils help
    a lot. Get the alignment after you get the new meats. Just saying.

      I agree, one day ill definitely throw on some thuren or carli's.

    • @extremerc76
      @extremerc76 4 роки тому +1

      Only downside to the thuren is they’re a softer spring rate, if your mounting a plow that will ruin your capacity. Spacer retains your oem capacity and gives your clearance for your plow mount

    Great video amigo! Nice boxer too, miss mine tremendously! I wish my '12 Ram 2500 was that easy to change out shocks! Just a suggestion, esp in the northern states or southern states due to rust, use some anti seize on your bolts. I have used several Rancho products on my Ram, esp the level coil/shock kit and it is horrible. When you replace your shocks, I highly suggest getting Fox 2.0 shocks. If you go with a coil at anytime, use a Thuren or Carli. I have wasted time, money and frustration using cheaper brands due to impatience. This Rancho coil is going out and the Fox's made a HUGE improvement over the Ranchos. Lesson learned!

    I agree with some other comments, you could have saved yourself allot of time by using spring compressor or even as I have done was use chain vice grips. put as much weight as you can on spring and place 2 chain vice grips

      @moparvelousorbust7085  4 роки тому +1

      guil Mondragon yes! The main thing is they won’t “bottom-out” while hitting bumps, etc because they are longer than the OEM. You can use the extensions that come with the kit, but it doesn’t change the overall length of the shock. Whatever you choose, I’d at least pick longer “leveling-shocks”.

      @moparvelousorbust7085  4 роки тому

      Ehren Leleski this is true. It’ll pull the axle back and towards then passenger side, but it’s only noticeable if you stare at it long enough! The higher you lift or level the front end, the more drastic the pull. For a small 2” level, I don’t think it’s necessary, but if you’re going beyond then yes I would install a longer or adjustable track bar. Carli and Thuren make nice adjustable bars 👍🏼

      @moparvelousorbust7085  5 років тому +1

      Jon B great question! The instructions say yes, and they even tell you which bit you need. However, I did not drill any holes. These spacers are held in under a ton of pressure and the single bolt shown. You certainly can drill a second hold and it’s probably best to, but I have yet to find it necessary.

    • @That_Dude_Bacon
      @That_Dude_Bacon 5 років тому

      Moparvelous Or Bust, that’s a bold move, cotton. Hope it works out. I suppose the weight of the truck and suspension probably to make it necessary. I am still deciding on shocks. I was thinking the Fox shocks. Any thoughts?

    • @moparvelousorbust7085
      @moparvelousorbust7085  5 років тому

      Jon B yes certainly! But there are many spacers on the market that have no bolts what-so-ever!
      Honestly, I’d say Fox makes quality shocks (they’re also quite nice looking). Only reason I went with the Ranchos, is because of price and they are marketed as “leveling shocks” so I got al the lift I needed.
