Thanks for the Mojave love. I get a ton of grief from the community for not getting a Rubicon. The Mojave’s setup also translates into improved road manners and without the luxury of multiple, use specific, build’s, that’s a thing. I think that’s why I’m enjoying the Doc build so much. It’s a fun, concept based, show quality vehicle and is super relatable to the daily driver compromised crowd. ✌🏼❤️😊
If I could order what I wanted and needed a second Jeep, I think the Mojave is great. I’d only add 35’s and Apex AutoLynx to disconnect the sway bar. Most of the time, a rear locker is plenty for what moderate trails we tackle. I gotta drive it home. 😆
That orange Sandstorm Jeep is perfect. I deleted my backseats in my JLU because I don't have kids and I like the Unlimited's wheelbase. Please Jeep release a Scrambler type model 🙏
That was a truly great day out on Poison Spider, thanks Brad! As the other guy on that ride in a mostly-stock (Mojave) Gladiator on 35's, I was also super impressed by what that vehicle is capable of right off the showroom floor; equally confidence inspiring when crawling on rocks, blasting through the desert, and rolling down the highway. Looking forward to seeing Doc's continuing evolution.
It was a great day out there and yes, I'm convinced 35' tires will take most people the places they want to go. Larger tires may look cool and make things a little more point and shot, but bigger tires comes with a cost.
You mentioned the small "35" tires and they will take you most places you want to go. I still have 33's on my Wrangler JLU and while I know I couldn't do some of the obstacles that you went on, they take me most of the places I want to go. Great fun.
Agree, it would be great if we had more options. But you can order custom Katzkin seats or Bartact covers... I've had both over the years and have been happy with them.
I have a Gladiator Rubicon that handles the mountain trails here awesome! But never taken it to Moab! Know I must go. Thank you for sharing the Easter Jeep Safari!
Really a great video. It's really fun seeing you so excited about stuff. And seeing the same event from different creators is great. Seeing all the different point's of view. Honestly, I've never wanted to go to EJS but now I do.
I was able to see these at Jeep Beach this year and I was blown away! My favorite little Easter egg was the paint color named Element 115 on the Dispatcher...very clever! 👽
Staff car was actually one of the nicest builds that you talked right through, the way the tub was enlarged for the opening for the front and back seats. I guess I’ll have to find it on another channel
I think you make a great assessment of the Mojave. I have a 2023 Mojave and struggle with what to do to get a little more ground clearance. Recently did a badge of honor trail here in Texas and scrapped on approach and departure angles several places throughout the trails we went on. Thinking 2” AEV spacer lift, geometry correcting brackets, adjustable track bar and move to 35” tires. But as you said, have to retain the amazing ride quality for on and off road.
I’ve had the AEV spacer lift on mine for the past two years. It’s a similar to stock ride but not the same. It still did not provide the clearance I need. Consider going with the metal cloak game changer kit. Ultimately, the shocks are the limiting factor as they have minimal travel. At a point now after two years where I will replace the entire suspension. Just my 2 cents.
Ya, I think the spacer and relocation brackets are a good options. But with the heavier tires the suspension won't perform exactly the same.... I just think Jeep needs a Mojave with an extreme recon package.... and a bigger engine!
That staff car concept is pretty dope. I feel like the best thing that could happen to Jeep is if some rich people bought it away from Stellantis and made it its own company. Also loved seeing Gumby on the dash 😂 I bought a Gumby when I bought my first car and that same Gumby has ridden with me in every car since for over 40 years. You could get the Trail Recon 3D printed and get the same stamped effect for your hood. Cheers
I can't disagree, it would be great to see the Jeep brand in the hands of a private enthusiasts. Crazy what you can do with 3d printing these days, I'd be down for something custom like the hood stamp for sure.
I would love to see the original 2005 Gladiator concept out on the trail. That was much more J series/ Comanche inspired than the production model ended up being.
I like the Dispatcher and Shortcut. I'm a sucker for retro done right and I like the skinny tires on white steelies. The JK staff car and retro-striped Gladiator are cool as well. Suzuki could make bank if they federalized the Jimny and offered it with a removable top. Jeeps have gotten big, bring back the Samurai.
Agree, but the trails are a bit different out here. Some do require a larger tire to navigate through without damaging your vehicle, but most people and trails 35's are perfect for.
Great video, thank you for the offered you put in all of your videos, also I was wondering if you will attend the overland expo west 2024. I hope we see you there and say Hi
Hey Brad, what is your favorite mounting system for the dash to put your tablet(GPS), phone, camera, etc? I forget which one you have liked more over the years.
They only sell a small amount of 2 door wrangler compared to the 4 doors, so I imagine it's not cost effective to design and build a 2 door Gladiator unfortunately.
CAFE regulation is the reason we no longer have short wheelbase 2 door pickup trucks like the Rangers, S10's, Tacomas, and Frontiers of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000's. It doesn't have anything to do with the number of doors or consumer preferences. CAFE is also the reason Ford, GM, and Chrysler stopped making sedans and station wagons. Theirs more profit and less competition producing huge 4x4 crew cab with tiny bed pickup trucks.
@@kenwilliams4086 is there any chance of them bringing them back since everything has a 30 year loop? I have a 2 door wrangler now and nothing touches it's turning radius, I know there is a kit to make four door wranglers into a truck but not for two door 😮💨
