ho yes, congratulations Mark, for your patience and your ability to explain things well. I still insist on the fact that "these things" on the Nordhavn are very effective against seasickness ...
I agree with everyone else. This is not the boat for you. Too many sacrifices and adjustments required. The loop is supposed to be a fun trip, not a constant adjustment. Nordhaven’s are great boats, but not loop boats. If you wanted to cruise the Tropics and island hop between countries this would be great for you. Or traveling to Alaska or Hawaii from the West Coast. The video bloggers on Mermaid Monster just made 5 day passage from Hilton Head, SC to Providence, RI. They were 50-100 miles offshore making this run. They have a Nordhaven 55 and that’s what these boats are designed for. Not the Great Loop. Hard Pass.
Love your channel. Nordhavn bits are great and have great resale value. Also it is probably the one boat if all the ones you have looked at that will be most comfortable if you hit bad weather in the ocean. Just a correction, many Americans don’t pronounce it rigth.... it’s Nordhavn, not Nordhaven. There is no A between V and N. It’s kind of like many mispronunce Husqvarna, not husqa varna.
Happy Birthday!! one question, how strong is the seasick problem? what is cute is to hear from someone who is seasick that a Naordhavn is cute (she would be your hero at sea)... But I agree, the 40 is too small for your family and with bigger the draft would be a problem for the loop...You have to be logical, if it is a serious seasickness problem, you have to keep in mind that with less than 5 'of draft you have to stop looking for a fast boat. stabilizers have their limits ...
This particular boat is probably the most famous N40 as it went around the world in a record time of 172 days. I am looking for a N43 or N47 for myself but they don’t come up on the market very often. The new 41 has no pilot house and costs over $700k. - you could get a used N47 for that price
Unfortunately any Nordhavn over the 40 is too deep in draft for the preferred max 5 foot draft. 43 draft is 5'3", 47 draft is 5'11", 50 draft is 5'8". The great thing about the Nordi's is their full displacement hull, but that is not good for our Loop needs. Thanks for the comments and watching! ⚓️Mark
I’m not sure I’ll ever get old enough to want a powerboat with a top speed slower than a sailboat. Even Nordhavn is finally starting to increase the top speed of their larger yachts to 14kts.

It's my more to a ocean cross boat
Hatteras 67' 1988 beauty; located Charleston, SC
That one looks super clean!
I believe the N40 is about the only one that can do the Loop. But since it only has a single head I agree with the hard no as well.

We spell it correctly but maybe add a bit of an A to the pronunciation, but we definitely know it’s absent the A👍🏻
there is a tollycraft 61" in jupiter fl. for sale at denisons yatch sales. good luck!

That is so cool that this boat did that. We will go check it out. Good luck with your hunt!
Happy Birthday 🎂🥳
Agree . Nordhavn for going around the world, not great for the loop. Enjoy SI.
Happy birthday, mine is Thursday.....
Happy early birthday Robert! 🙌🎉
Nordhavn's should not be what you're looking at for what you want to do, in my opinion. These are great boat but just not for the loop, I think.
If you can fine one you might like a Beneteau Swift 50
43 is ideal 3 rooms 3 full heads

NO! This is for a couple who want to do open ocean cruising. NOT what you guys, with kids, are looking to do....

LOL I am with you. I often feel the need for speed.
Nordhavn is too big for what you’re doing and it’s not big enough on the inside. But yes I’m totally in love with nordhavn 60
We agree on every point. Not right for us for the loop but still awesome.
@@TheBoomershines very awesome
@@TheBoomershines have you looked at a outer reef yet? I can’t find a height but the 610 is 17.2 beam and 5’ draft it has 3 nice staterooms
Why not Nordhavn 55
Draft is too deep for the Great Loop.
47 0r46 or 50
