This has made me really happy seeing this. I was the lighting operator for this series. Lulu has always been one of my favourite singers, I also had the pleasure of lighting her a couple of years ago on Jools’ Annual Hootenanny, two shows 21 years apart. 😅
Me too. Awesome song. The backing track is very close to the Tina Turner version. I got goosebumps when I heard the TT version for the first time (and the first time I heard this song).
Lulu is awesome! I think she's better now than in the old movie "To Sir with Love", though she was great in that as well as wonderful Sidney Poitier. Movie was a classic as well as Lulu❤
Yea. I remember this song. Lulu does a wonderful version. As usual, her singing is just so passionate. I think a lot of people can relate to this song. Marriage can be hard, and sometimes it's just better to be friends. God bless. 🌹
@@TheJohnboy1957 I'm so sorry. I did not know Lulu wrote the song! I just knew Tina Turner sang it. It makes sense now that Lulu wrote it!! Thank you. I am a new fan of Lulus!!!
I just started listening to lulu this year! My God I missed a lot wished at 7 in 1967 I listened to her song to sir with love. I have heard the song many times but never really checked into it who th singer was. Brilliant composing on this song don’t wanna fight no. More👍👍
She wasn't 70 in this - she was 52 - younger than Kylie, Madonna, JLo, Mariah...are today with global sellout tours and music. She made a good choice giving this song to Turner, at least she made a modest amount of money from it than if she'd peddled this herself...
@@MarthaMansbridge I was making a comment on her age today. Yes she did very well in giving this song to Tina Turner. I think she would have made a good fist of it herself.
I don't like to compare because they're both great, but Tina's version captures the lyrics better as she was truly singing from her heart abd soul; maybe because the song speaks so accurately about her experience as an abused woman.
I truly give me gostbump❤❤ i am piano player and will get this in my setlist.. my wife is singer in ower band she is from Philippines sounds like lolu..❤❤
Lulu wrote this song when she was splitting from John Freda. I loved Tina Tina’s version but because I knew it was Written by Lulu I’ve always preferred her version because I knew it was written from the heart - plus her voice ❤
Lulu actually wrote this song for Queen Tina Turner, as the theme song for Tina's biopic movie in 1993: What's Love? A phenomenal song, and beautifully performed here by the writer. Tina's version is beyond description: awesome.
Lulu what a beautiful woman ,in my opinion she is underrated ,and deserves much more credit . I place her up there with dusty ,Petula ,Sandie Shaw and the rest of the 60s woman . ❤❤😂😂 Sydney Australia 🌏🦘 8/9/2023

I thought Tina Turner wrote the song as she does a fantastic vocal on it, but Lulu is also fantastic
Lulu and her brother wrote it.
I think this song really suits Lulu and I wonder why she gave it to Tiina??
Lulu gave it originally to Sade Adu who knew Tina was making the movie of her life and passed it on to Tina’s manager,Roger.
