Thanks for putting my youth into words.... people always thought I was okay. But i made it out okay?? Yeah... I did. Sometimes you learn more from a bad example as from a good one....
I joined my first band (keyboards) years ago. The lead singer was a female, and she chose this as the first song we'd learn. I'll never forget that first song of our group or Suzanne for the gift of this song.
I fell in love with Ms Vega the first time I heard her voice. I am older now and am close to leaving this world. I wish I can see her concert with my children and grandchildren. Anyway, Suzanne, you made my life more beautiful and I thank you!
Absolutely brilliant, what an amazing song, fantastic music, spectacular vocals. This song gives such contradicting feelings including sadness, anger, and helplessness. It's a narrative a lot of us have seen and/or experienced in our lives . It really pulls on my heart strings.
Suzanne still sounds so beautiful singing this timeless masterpiece of hers on guitar after 31 years and I am so touched. This lovely song itself was always enjoyed listening to after all these years. It never gets old at all. They just don't write wonderful songs like this one anymore. She's a real legendary artist. God bless her!!!! 🙏🙏
This song is from 1987, the era of real great music. I was 8 when it come´s out and loved it instantly. Super song! And by the way, i like tha bassplayer here.. .
Thanks for this Masterpiece. I bought the "Solitude Standing" cassette in 1993 and Gratefully, still own it. This Presentation, with Full Orchestra, almost brought Me to tears. She's Beyond Wonderful and I thank You, Again.
Thanks! In France, at the begenning, we listened to this song with a kind of happiness, then discovered and understood the lyrics! A drama! We have more or less the same in our country. Two examples: "The black Eagle" from Barbara, which describes without mentioning it a "night incest". "The Puppet" from Maxime Le forestier, which describes "an intimate relationship with a 15 years girl". Shame on us!
❤noi di quegli anni siamo così malinconici e ci mancano così tanto tutte quelle cose che componevano quei momenti dai sentimenti artisti modo di stare insieme ……

I was being badly abused at home. I was 12 when this song/video came out. It’s a taboo subject and I am so grateful she wrote this song.
I hope you came out of that alright

The paradox is how calming this timeless track is given the dark subject matter.
