To feel important, he pouts to be tasked and trusted with it. Just as he supervises/manages his feeble, very old, hard of hearing parent’s and their many dogs, he must manage something for poor, lonely Jen and vulnerable Madeline, too. Infuriating AF
SS piping up about his folks currently facing + navigating their important, end of life directives is a pretty eerie, off the wall comment to throw out.
SS awarded a task as big as medication administration is him weaseling his way slowly in deeper, to gain unfettered access to every component, personal aspect in their lives.
Sorry to rant …just venting on how /why this whole sordid situation unfolded…and why Jen called him that night after so long apart, it just gets me..

One thing about jury duty selection recently, I got myself excused because of time restrictions etc but they show a video about who should or should not be a juror. It’s pretty informative and I wish people could understand that making snap judgments about something is not only unreasonable but unfair. Facts matter, not emotions or feelings. Be safe out there

Jen also said she slept with her grandmother, still lying? Hardly, it’s a generalisation. Also, saying she wasn’t going to be doing something is not the same as actually doing it. I could tell you that I’m not going to eat chocolate again because it gives me a headache, but I probably will! Context is needed for the text message, she could have been referring to her bpd meds not working, she’d already said she needed to get to sleep quickly or she couldn’t sleep at all once she’d taken them, but I’m guessing, without context it makes no sense.

@@glamisgirl309 I monitored my daughters cycle because 1) it would let me know why she was moody, 2) it wasn’t always regular in the first few years and 3) it’s good practice to teach young girls that they should track it.
She knows lots of details about Stephan. She conveniently forgets many of her last moments Maddie. I don’t need a smoking gun all the time.

Idk man something is not right with JS… zero tears or emotion shown, during any of it. Seeing photos of SS , junk in her child’s mouth and that wasn’t a concern for her, telling the detectives, that the “sex” stuff wasn’t evil… as a mother, she missed every sign, all the signs, smacking her in her face and she chose to look away. If your almost 13 yr old daughter, does not want to sleep alone, there’s a reason.. you don’t send her to a room with extra locks, sex toys and lube, to sleep with your ex boyfriend- your don’t call the father of the guy arrested for the sexual assault and murder of your only child, and tell him to get him a lawyer/ why on earth would you be defending him?!? With thousands of photos as evidence, she still defends him. Sterns own parents know he is sick and twisted and have done more to help the investigation, then JS has. Every time she talks with cops, it is a different story. I believe 💯, charges will be brought against her.

As far as that sex stuff not being evil, that was from the documents and is only a "summary". We do not have transcripts, video or audio to hear the whole conversation. This is a fact and you can see that for yourself in the documents. We are lacking context. Jumping to conclusions with only a few sentences in an entire interview is not seeking truth.
Even Stephan Sterns own father told LE how shocked he was at the text Jenn sent him telling him to get Stephan a lawyer NOW. He said he expected Jenn to freak out on him or even attack him when he gave her a ride home from the police station but instead they both got food from Wawa and she just carried on normal conversation with him.

Listening at 1:30:57 when they are discussing the period products. Stern's parents said that he was highly anxious on Saturday after speaking to Madeline and was looking for meds. I'm now wondering if she told him that she missed her period. Such a scare would trigger him big time.

Sometimes people need to hear something specific to believe a mother knew… but the mere fact that she doesn’t consider SA of a child as evil… well I guess she could just looked the other way. Maybe it is not common knowledge but it’s often the case in these horrific situations. Mothers have more support for the perpetrators than the child victim.

During the interview, Jennifer Soto continuously protected Stephan Sterns, was questioned about why she prioritizes Stephan Sterns over (Madeline), and even at one point referred to the ‘sex stuff as not evil but the murder of (Madeline) as ‘evil,” the report says.
The document is only a summary. It even says it's a summary. They put 2 or 3 sentences of a whole conversation in that summary. We need to hear the whole conversation to know the context. To judge on that, when much is left out is just irresponsible and incomplete.
MD here. Very concerning that Maddie supposedly had rectal bleeding and constipation at her age. Jenn just opted to give her daughter miralax regularly without a doctors instruction. It's an over the counter medication but explicitly states if using over a few days or having red flag sx described by Maddie, take your kiddo to the doctor! There are very serious medical conditions that present in this way. Universally patients of all ages call or come in if there is a spec of blood on coming from their anus the first time. Why was she self treating Maddie for so long? Very dangerous to use this medication long term without guidance
Many kids with ADHD deal with chronic constipation. Miralax is the go to medication pediatricians prescribe. Also not being unkind but did you listen to the audio? She literally says she had series of testing related to constipation. It was most likely recommended by doc. Lastly my son who is both ADHD and ASD deals with chronic constipation. He's been on Miralax since age 4, and is 9 in a few days. Unfortunately its very common

You're not an MD for kids I assume? I've called my sons doctor multiple times for rectal bleeding and was assured it's nothing to worry about unless it's not stopping and not bright red in color. We even see urology regularly because he has urinary frequency as a direct result of constipation. Doctors all assure you that miralax is safely used long term with children.

The way Jen muttered a remark that her sister occasionally stays in # 4 demonstrates a strategic attempt to pepper this terrifying crisis with round about, vague and limited comments. To choose words that paint a picture of a stable and united front (with SS and her family) for LE , so quick + smoothly, (in the first 24 hours) is concerning, IMHO. She’d have experienced loud alarm bells + terrible intrusive thoughts regarding SS by 4pm that afternoon, and yet she double down committed to portraying a solid + strong relationship with him,,,why?
I keep wavering about if/what JS knew. This interview was eye opening. I agree with you, Gray, about how predators manipulate and groom their victims. This is the one interview that I heard JS have some emotion, and I feel she had been groomed herself. My heart breaks for Maddie and what she had to live through.

I’m one of the crazies that leans on the side of Jenn may have known more than she admits, but as far as the whole “risk it” text goes, my immediate thought the 1st time I heard it, was going back to when Jenn said if she took her meds and didn’t go to sleep shortly afterward that she wouldn’t be able to sleep and they wouldn’t work properly. So in Jenn’s defense I guess, it could have been as simple as just venting saying that’s it, Maddie’s not sleeping with me anymore, she was kicking or talking or whatever and I wasn’t able to get any sleep last night and I can’t risk my bipolar meds not working the next day. But who knows 🤷♀️ could be something, could be nothing.
Oh, that actually makes sense. She meant that she couldn’t risk the danger to herself by not getting “good sleep”, not that she couldn’t risk having something bad happening to Maddie.
I’ve been thinking all night about what that text could have meant.

There are fluids, smells, sounds, moods….. Maddie was too young.
My parents didn't know and he lived with us. Went on for 1 year less than Maddie. It was not due to them not being alert. There were just no clues.
She talks about having Stephan babysit as if shes a little kid. Shes a teen, living in a household w other females that apoarently had a good & clise relationship w her.
They are just renting a room.

That statement that she could no longer risk it is highly suspicious and I think Jenn knew exactly what it was referring to. I can't think of any reasonable explanation for why a mother would say she could no longer risk it by having her daughter sleep with her. Risk means a situation with exposure to danger and what other situation could that be in a bed? Maddie wasn't an infant who Jenn could roll over on and suffocate. What other dangers were in that bed other than Sterns?

"We give her her meds." Yeah, it takes two people, mom and boyfriend to give a pre-teen her pills. Hmmm. What I find interesting that they had already had one scare where she had to call poison control because the girl wouldn't wake up, and even with that she seems okay with SS giving her an extra dose of sleeping meds.

Maddie’s blue dress from party was in room 4 in other police photos. Maddie got home at 8:45, already showered, and her party dress was in room 4?!?! I wonder what ST did to her before mom even came home or was she still wearing dress when Jen came home and thats why she can’t recall pjs her daughter had on last time she EVER saw her

That's incorrect. Her blue dress she wore at the party was on the bottom of a laundry basket in Maddie's partitioned "bedroom." You can see it underneath her new Lilo & Stitch pajama set and a pair of Stephan's blue plaid boxers.
The blue garment in room 4 may have been mistaken for the light blue collared button down seen on the dresser next to the backpack.
She's stoned ofcourse she can't remember.

The people who listen have drawn their own conclusions according to all of her inconsistent statements and actions. You do not have to tell people how to think and feel. Our conclusions are as valid as yours.
I’ve changed my mind about JS after listening to her talk about how concerned; almost hyper vigilance, about “what could happen” if Maddie went to sleep overs makes me wonder if this is something SS used her fear as a tactic ie…we are the only safe ones, we need to protect Maddy, just the three of us, you can’t trust anyone but me. This guy had her so bamboozeled.

I think they all forget HOW SLOW JEN IS MENTALLY INCOMPETENT AND ONLY THING SHE IS GUILTY OF IS MISSING RED FLAGS BC OVER MEDICATED AND MENTAL ILL ! Even her roommate said she had no malicious intent, and she was actually a pretty decent mom to Maddie. It was just that this man really brought a decline in her mental health and then they inappropriately put her on antipsychotics which is going to snow you and make you miss all the red flags. BUT SHE DIDNT COMMIT A CRIME PPLE ! If anything be mad at protective services child protective services because they’re the ones that allow mentally ill people to parent their children all the time I mean, technically if there were concerns, then CPS should’ve taken her for her mental illness clearly that didn’t happen and here’s the real issue. This little girl slept in bed with the grandma. That’s why it’s so hard to say that she maliciously knew about all this.
The leash question is to establish a break in his usual routine. He didn’t want her to get up and notice Maddie was missing….
S did that around 8:15 after he returned to "get the remote" ...so Maddy would still be in the front seat of his car. He didn't want to chance JS going out with dog and seeing Maddy.

I think it’s very possible that Jenn never saw Maddie that night. Sterns was there by 9p.m., Maddie could have taken a shower, changed and got her Double Dose of sleeping pills well before 10 p.m. He might have come downstairs to talk to Jenn but Maddie was likely knocked out. Sunday night is the first time Maddie had been home since Wednesday. When asked “When was the last time you saw your daughter” Jenn initially answered “Wednesday night” but quickly changed it to Sunday night. Maddie had a panic attack on Saturday when Jenn’s mother tried to bring her home so she stayed that extra night with grandma. Maybe it’s just me but this video on top of having followed this case closely really hit me in the gut. I believe it’s possible that Jenn knew about all of it. The years of giving Maddie to Sterns for S/A, and how and when Maddie died that night. I hope my hunches are wrong, and they very well could be but after hearing the made-up BS in this audio I got a very bad feeling. Regardless, until a trial and conviction(s), Rest in Peace Madeline. I wish in your confusing and lonely moments you could have known how many people did care about your well-being and would have helped you 🙏🕊️
I’m starting to think that she didn’t see her that night either. The way she said that Maddie was so happy about her party and about all the money that she got contradicts the police reports with interviews with her friends who were at the party. They said that Maddie was really upset at first. She was upset that not many friends came and a lot of people who did come didn’t bring her presents. She was especially upset that she didn’t get the money she usually gets for her birthday, and that her mom didn’t give her ANY money.

I wonder if stephen and her talked about Maddie not getting her period maybe she is pregnant... And stephan tried to reassure her that wasn't the case ..and then she said Maddie no longer sleeps with me I can't risk it (it meaning I can't risk thinking like that, thinking like Maddie is innocent)

Her choices are questionable and sometimes downright wrong but so far nothing points to her having outright knowledge of what was going on or being in on the murder. As flawed humans, we tend to dismiss the instinct that something is wrong and believe what we want to see.
I think people want to assume that she knew what was going on because it protects their own sense of security of thinking that this could never happen to their child. She did a lot wrong that put her child in danger. But people want to assume that they would just know that this was going on and therefore could prevent it. We have to be super vigilant as parents.

That was Sterns parents car and it was the "poodle ambulance". His mother breeds poodles. It was used to take around the dogs. That is why you see leashes.

I do not think she's guilty of anything. It's a strange interview...seems like she lawyered up ...as she should have....and were given like 1 hour by her lawyer with this derivative use immunity. But they ask her nothing about the sexual assault photos. As a detective I would want to ask where do you think you were when this happened , did you notice any behaviorial changes, sexual charged language suddenly. Idk. Maybe there are a lot of interviews between when he was arrested and this April interview and these are just clarifying questions. Seemed more about clarifying thongs found on her phone. He also seemed to not want her to trip herself up. He'd ask the question another way. Idk. It was interesting. It does seem like she must have been pregnant the way they asked and the way she answered. But others have said hed have been charged with double homicide on Florida. They dont have to charge all at once though??? Or maybe just establishing motive that he may have thought she might be. The only thing that makes me wonder is the "I can't risk it" statement about no longer allowing her to sleep in her bed. I'd want to see the context of that statement. All the rest of the texts in that conversation. Also interesting he asks and moves on. Like he doesn't want her to to answer in this immunity interview. He cant use what she says against her so he doesn't want her to say something he wants to use. But in the end I do not see anything in this that makes her any more guilty of anything. I still feel like she didnt know.

It was a sort of limited immunity, I forget what the legal term is. But they’re saying she won’t be prosecuted for anything she says during this specific interview BUT if they find evidence independent of this interview that shows that she had involvement they can bring charges. They also told her that she wouldn’t be charged if her interview that day contradicted other interviews that she made in the past with conflicting info.
@@jenreilly8058she initially told investigators that they discussed going to McDonald’s the night prior. In this interview it sounded like she admitted that was innacurate. The discussion with regard to Maddie’s money was interesting…wonder where that money was found (if at all) when they executed the search warrant. Did stearns end up taking that bday money? Did the dog run in the room with her croc and that’s why he chased the dog in there, bc it would have woken Jen up and he didn’t want Jen to see her body? That would explain how the other croc got in there. The immediate fear of her getting up made him overlook that he left evidence (1 shoe) in the room that was an obvious AND immediate indication that Maddie wasn’t wearing to school what he alleged. Some of the things in this interview helped her and some brings more suspicion that she could have known about the abuse. Also… interference with an investigation is probably the misdemeanor they are referring to in the beginning as it relates to the McDonald’s plan that she spoke about inaccurately at first. This left me with a million more questions. “Maddie’s no longer sleeping with me bc I can’t risk it” could have been about her risking her new job if she didn’t get enough sleep. Jen is obviously not “normal”. Also, when did JEN make that Botox appointment she later cancelled? She didn’t have a pot to piss in and yet she was about to spend $350. Did SHE make a habit out of taking Maddie’s money ever? Thinking out loud

One generation back, when 7 children was the norm, (and not the current 2.2) households were filled to the brim with kids/ cousins /friends, all sleeping intermingled, in close quarters. I think bad creeping, sneaking, peeping, and even touching was a common, rampant occurrence. I can’t say for sure, or cite statistics, but think it true.
W whole lot of homes these days are multi family. My son goes to his friends and I remember 1 had 5 families!!! That was the largest. Usually it is 3 living together. They do not have their own beds or rooms. Families sleep together and this includes the girls. Do people really not know this is going on?? Come on!
One of Maddie’s crocs was found with the garbage and the other in Jenn’s room. Jenn seems to have little memory of things Stephen/Maddie do but has no problem remembering insignificant things! Jenn is blinded by this man-child he offers nothing other than being an on call baby sitter.
She said maddies no longer sleeping with me, i cant risk it. My guess is because she said maddie tossed and turned and impacted her sleep. Jenn started a new job so wondering if thats what she meant

You're not wrong about predators looking for these types of mothers BUT also these types of mothers are the ones to turn a blind eye. Maybe not explicitly knowing but being too desperate and apathetic to ignore a gut feeling, ignore signs, choose to live in lala land because the other option is too hard to deal with
I initially felt JS was groomed over years, too, but eventually jumped on the bandwagon of suspicious rage, clamoring for charges…but I’m thinking Jen wallowed in Denial, a necessary defense mechanism at times, but also an elixir of ignorant bliss , to avoid hard truths + facts.
