- In this video I will FINALLY be installing the JHM Race Pipes & JHM Tune on my 2008 Audi S5 4.2. The Race Pipes will be complimenting the AWE Touring exhaust that is already on the car. Also as you will see, the JHM Tune REALLY wakes the car up, and turns it into the beast that it should've been from factory. Some of the key features you get with this tune are the famous JHM Launch Mode, and also getting rid of the factory soft limiter so that N/A German V8 can really scream. Ever consider doing a rwd conversion?
The reduction in drivetrain loss and weight on its own makes it a must have mod on the B8 S5 imo, really any B8 unless you live in Alaska.
Of course the added fun is one of the main selling points, but more power to the ground, less weight, better driving dynamics? Surprised i haven’t seen more people do it
Thank you! I have thought about It, I think it would be dope. I believe JHM has a reversible kit that can be installed to feel it out before fully committing.

@@tariqsamuels8578 I actually have a W204 at the moment, but i’m looking at getting into a B8 as a toy to mess around with.
A rwd conversion would be among the first mods when that day comes.
I didn’t know jhm made one, i know ecs has a conversion kit and it seems like a better option compared to welding the stock unit.
@@PapiAndrey the S5 is going to have a lot less power than that W204 😅 but drop it on some coil overs and throw it on some summer tires and it’s a super fun car! Let me know when you end up getting it!

The JHM tune, tuned out the CEL for the cats. Not sure about the jackal tune
I got JHMs stage 1 on my 2013 B8.5 RS5. Made 24whp. Looking to go stage 2 once I get a carbon clean. Wonder if it will make my Capristo sound better. Did you dyno it before and after to see how power you actually gained?
I did not dyno… thinking back I wish I would’ve. But it made the butt dyno happy 🤣

For sure! I’m down that’s not too far, roughly 3 ish hours! I did race a 2017 RS Camaro that was a pretty even race before, and now I’m pulling away pretty easily. So I’m excited to see how stock versus everything I’ve done performs!

I got the same car I got a jackal Motorsport tune and I didn’t get launch control I’m curious to see how the Jhm tune does there launch control would love a video about that as I wish I had launch control! I also purchase the Jhm race pipes just need to get them installed now asapp too haha sounds to good

I don’t believe so, as it’s only “intended for off-road use”. But I’m not sure. You may reach out to see if they have any cali legal options though

Thank you! The spoiler is the german-car-accessories.com V-Style spoiler. I’ve done quite a bit to it, posted videos of everything on my channel! It’s definitely a great car, would just make sure it’s had all of the necessary maintenance. Absolutely timeless, this body style will never get old!
Is there a way to de-tune for smog purposes?
Yeah you can always tune back to stock. But I don’t think it’s worth the trouble of reinstalling the cats once a year. Would be quite the hassle

Hey bro I see you have the manual I was wondering if they had to drop your trans for the install because I heard manuals need the trans dropped and I’m an auto and I have awe downpipes and awe track exhaust I’m looking to run the test pipes but wanna know if the trans needs dropped in order to install them.
What’s up bro! No the shop I took it to was able to do it with out dropping the cradle or the trans. I know in the JHM video they literally use a strap to pull the trans to the side so they don’t have to drop the trans, so that should be necessary

Really it would be up to what you’re comfortable driving around with everyday. I personally don’t like my car to pop and bang too much I like mine pretty subtle. But if you like a lot of pops and bangs then I would go for it! 👌🏽
What's your mpg after the exhaust and tune?
It can definitely get pretty low with some spirited driving 😅 but on average I’m getting around 18-22 mpg which isn’t too bad! Especially for a V8 built in 2008 lol. But before the tune I changed the spark plugs and ignition coils.
Could you just swap out ecu on this for the Rs4 v8
I honestly don’t know, I’ve never thought of that! I don’t think the engines are identical so I’m not sure if that would work. But I’ll definitely look into it 🤔

Thank you, thank you! Doesn’t really rub as far as the wheels go. I do get the occasional scrape when big dips and what not on the highway. The front lip can also be tricky in certain parking lot entrances lol. I was sure not to drop the car too low. Also made a video on it if you want to check it out!

Hey so where do the race pipes fit into the system? Do they replace the cats?
Yes! They are essentially catless test pipes.. so be careful if you have emissions wherever you live. The JHM X-Pipe may be a good alternative if you do have emissions!

@@DarleyMedia So the Race Pipes we’re $600 by them selves. Installation was around $800, which is pretty crazy but if you have a shop that doesn’t go off of book time then it could be cheaper

@@DarleyMedia So before I tuned it I was getting a CEL… which I just cleared out when I got it. But their tune codes out that CEL so after the tune you’ll be good!

how do you activate launch control
I will be sure to post a tutorial! But you make sure that TC is all the way off by holding down the ESC button. Then just hold in the clutch and give it gas, should hold around 5500 rpm. Then when you’re ready let go of the clutch and hold on for dear life 🤣
