I love Revolution!! It's an amazing coaster and a very historically significant coaster as well. I'm actually wearing a vintage Revolution shirt from Magic Mountain right now as I type this, haha
Really enjoying your videos! very informative. Revolution was the first coaster with an inversion i ever rode. It was always one of my favorites as a child and sparked my obsession with coasters and theme parks.
You missed giving some important info on the Revolution, like when it first opened, it only had a lap bar, and it didn't have any head rests. When some people went through the loop, the centrifugal force sometimes forced their head down or backwards. Later, I think around 79-80' they added the head rests. It wasn't until years later they added the stupid over-the-shoulder restraints that turned an enjoyable ride into a ride of torture!
100% correct. Originally, the was no over the shoulder restraint. It was a great coaster. When I took my first ride with the over the shoulder restraints, I was appalled. My ears slamming back hand forth against the restraints was enough to make me swear off off one of my favorite coasters forever. Unfortunately, I haven't been back since they changed things.
I have so many memories at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California that every video about the park I watch brings back memories. I still want to ride “Shockwave” from years ago as I was too short to ride. It’s gone from this park but I heard it’s in another park with a new name in another state? Anyone have info on that? Thanks for the videos.
what happened to the castle theming that was in the 70s and the wizard and big furry guy almost like grimmis ....? when I was a child I went there often and I always liked the theming they had in the late 70s.
Great video, you should pretty good for being sick. They are both called Log Jammer and Jet Stream, singular not plural. Having two flume rides as a thing in the 1970's. One with logs and another with boats was cool. Both Great America parks had this. Over Texas and Over Georgia had two separate Log ride flumes because they were built before Arrow's Hyrdoflume concept (Jet Stream) was created. Acme Atomsmashers was actually themed to Batman because it was part of the Gotham City Backlot.
You are totally wrong on this. The Log Jammer was a better ride and was one of the longest, tallest, and wettest flume rides in the country.... Jet Steam is the weaker flume and you barely get wet. In addition many theme parks in the 70s except for Disney had more than one flume because of their popularity.
Jet Stream is not better than Log Jammer was. It had a much better setting, layout and drops plus the log boats looked much better than the weird boats
I worked at Magic Mountain on and off from 1971 to 1980. Log Jammers had two different drops... Jet Stream did not; true, it had two drops but they were SIDE-BY-SIDE - in other words, you experienced only ONE drop on your ride! Log Jammers traveled through the woods... Jet Stream did not! While you're talking about Jet Stream, you're showing ride footage of Log Jammers. And you left out the real difference between the two: After the single drop on Jet Stream, your boat hit a hump in the trough and SKIPPED up out of the water and you got a little air time!
It's crazy Revolution is still there and still a great ride. It is such a perfect coaster for kids to get comfortable with a looping ride.

I had a dream about Jet Stream's station, before I even knew about it!

I remember...they had trolls too
Originally started out with Looney Tunes characters
Revolution started with no shoulder restraints, they were added. Recent changes just eliminated that mistake along with the new paint, trains, and VR.
I like 70s old footage
How come the Magic Pagoda is not getting any love? Info on this walkthrough attraction would be great.

This was actually really interesting! Loved it
Ever thought that some people have zero neck muscles? Which could be why their heads flap around on a coaster
the flash ride doesn’t take you backwards anymore.
No way! Thanks for the info. I’m going to get ahold of my source and figure out why they did this.
yeah i was on it yesterday and it just goes forward now which kinda sucks ngl

dreemfinder he labeled what was log jammer and what was jet stream.
I love jet stream !!
I still think log jammer was the better ride. It was longer, hell it even had to lift hills. Plus 2 big drops..
I love jet stream!!
Tbh i would rather ride the old revolution, than the new one
