- Log Jammer at Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. Arrow Dynamics: Log Flume.
Opened in 1971, closed in 2011.
Log Jammer was demolished to make way for Full Throttle which started construction in late 2012.

the sound of the log wheels underneath and rubber bumpers turning you into place -- screams in the background - sunny day - I could almost smell the water and the heat. They were kind of lame fun rides as kids(you did the coasters first) but now, I see them as part of the whole nostalgia package - Thanks for posting
Man I remember the line for the Log Jammer being totally insane in the late 70s/early 80s. Another classic bites the dust, and time marches on.
This was one flume that didn't need major theming the terrain , woodsy, two big drops and lake environment was enough. It was great precursor to the thrill rides.
11 years later I still love this ride. Really miss it!! A shame they had to remove it
I'm there with ya. I always walk passed Full throttle and think of what a shame it was to lose this log ride
It’s kinda sad to walk by and still see the entrance to the queue still there. It’s all sealed off now and I think they might use it for storage but the structure still remains. I mean I like Full Throttle but it’s not sentimentalize Log Jammer
RIP log jammer. That was one of my favorite rides when I would go there. I remember the last time I went on it was with my grandpa. And the next time I went there with him it was closed. He was so sad. Six flags magic mountain is really good at taking their most iconic rides and A altering them for no reason or B getting rid of them all together and putting in some stupid ride. Who knows what is next gold rusher or jet stream. Ride them before they are gone or you will regret it.😿
Just like Colossus! When it opened it was considered the fastest and biggest roller coaster! And it always was >:) It's still there... just a tiny bit updated to be "twisted".
(Twisted)Colossus FTW!!!
Gold rusher needs some theming and cleaning.
Like, what is that replaced, or supposed to be replaced with?
Tyrone Thompson Full Throttle
Thanks for posting. Magic Mountain is the park of my youth. Summer days will never be the same without Log Jammer. This ride has sentimental value to me.
Log Jammer was always a must-ride for us too. Such a fun little ride. Jet Stream isn't the same. .
@@sharpproductions yes I agree 100%. I like Jet Stream but it was nothing like Log Jammer. I guess they needed the terrain that Log Jammer occupied for Full Throttle. That would be my guess why they decided to remove it rather than Jet Stream. I kinda miss Tide Wave too
This was one if my favorite rides at Magic Mountain. One the best flume rides ever built.
Agreed. Shame they took it out. :(
I miss it 😔
This used to be the best ride during those 110 degree summer days at magic mountain, now they took it off for a 30 second roller coaster ride
30 second so what nigga
@@isaacmadrigaljr3333 lol this comment is 8 years old
@@crudkip4326 Idc Dip shit.
@@isaacmadrigaljr3333 atleast i dont say the n word while being white 💀
Yo what world are we living in
No fancy names...just simply The Log Ride. Yet dearly missed. Great memories of Magic Mountain when the whole park was still surrounded by nature.
It was called “Log Jammer”
The title is right here lmaoooo
This ride was always a really nice break from all the thrill rides. Miss it a lot.
That second drop was always a kick in the pants.
Thank you for uploading this highly memorable ride. This and the log ride at Knott's were tops for a little kid in the 70s and early 80s.
As much as I love coasters you need more variety in a park and log rides are so much fun and haunted rides! Please add a new one Six Flags!
I miss this ride; can't believe they took this out for Full Throttle.
You have to admit Full Throttle is a pretty cool ride. I just wish they placed it somewhere else so that Log Jammer could have stayed. :(
RIP Log Jammer
TheSlickkEffect Premier told MM that they could've built Full Throttle without removing Log Jammer...remember that
DGM4 definitely way better but I feel as they should have taken out jet stream for this
@Evy that wouldn't make sense
Awesome video, I remember riding it in 1972 when I was a little kid, the jet stream had not even been built yet and the gold rusher was the main roller coaster.
My uncle lived across the 5 freeway and we went to Magic Mountain the month it opened. Remember the Sail Boat ride? How about El Bumpo?
Aaron-Cesar Aguílera Dang you guys must be old.......
Oh my god Gold Rusher gives me a headache
@Bork lasagna same
You're old now
I didn't know this ride closed. I haven't been in a while but used to go all the time. I remember that part at 2:40 to 2:50 used to scare the crap out of me because it looks like you're gonna go over the edge.
I went back after like 4yrs with family. They now changed A LOT with taking off the flash (it was my favorite childhood ride) and taking a lot off/adding a lot of things. My mom and I we’re talking about the old rides they’ve takin off and this was one of my favorites cause I remember going on it with who I thought was my dad, but it was actually my grandpa who passed. Now it makes me miss it even more. Wish I had something I could get on to remember great memories I had with a great person
If Six Flags was smart they should have rerouted the flume to go around Full Throttle because there are too many rollercoasters already, these log flume rides are a great way to cool down and or they could just transfer the log to Jet Stream
Log Jammer was their best water ride. I too wish they would have just altered the Log Jammer to fit within Full Throttle. Would have been super cool to be on the log ride and have the coaster flying by you. It's a shame considering that Full Throttle doesnt even use that area to it's full potential. Ugh.
Rickys World NOPE!!! I say: take out That old Golden Bear Theater, which probably hasn't been used in years and re-build Log Jammer in THAT spot. Keep Log Jammer themed under High Sierra Territory.
Sean Lewis I’m so for that
Rickys World thats a lot of money your talkin about.
Should have designed Full Throttle around this ride!
I cant believe it's almost been 5 years since this thing has been gone. I kind of miss it.
It's almost eleven years now 😔
Magic should remove Golden Bear Theater and re-build a new Log Jammer.
Yeah fr
Log jammer always felt like it made that area of the park. The trees, water, it was so nice. Full throttle feels like it’s temporary, like it’s not meant to be a lasting attraction. It looks like it was put together for the absolute least money possibly.
I went on Log Jammer ever since in 2009 in my 8Th grade field trip before graduating and even last year in the summer of 2011. Together I went on this ride 2 times. I will always remember Log Jammer. If I have a time machine I can go back in time to ride Log Jammer again! That would be a great idea!
Man I wish Log Jammer was still at Magic Mountain. Easily my favorite water ride
Btw it was relaxing and very much soothing
Teddy Westside how was it shooting when the log kept hitting the side
Teddy Westside soothing*
Sorry to those folks whom suggest this ride should be extra Thrilling and intense. The whole purpose behind the Log Jammers peacefull atmosphere is supposed to make you feel as though your in a river, and flowing smoothly through a forrest. I Loved the fact this ride was quiet just to get away from all the metal Coaster crackling noise every once and while. There was just something peacefull and beautiful to this ride which is and was why it's soo hard to fathom of it's removal. RIP Log Jammer.
This has always been my favorite ride at six flags, being able to stick your hand in the water and splash the people in your boat, freggin hilarious fun, I am surely going to miss it.
The Log Jammer... the monorail track you pass under.... the giant redwood.... a lot of things have disappeared from the park these last 5 years. I can't say I'm pleased about it either, I love coasters as much as the next guy, but they keep removing crap to make room for MORE coasters. We already have the most in the world, why can't they be happy with that record and start focusing on building the other sort of infrastructure and entertainment the park needs sorely? Where's the live entertainment? Where are the slow "dark" rides? Where's the transit system?
Preach
Colossus is still there... they just updated it a TINY bit
BDNeon actually you do pass through the old monorail tunnel on full throttle! I don't think they're wanting to break any records! I believe they're just updating things. Because rails and such deteriorate with age!
The new Justice League ride is a tiny step in the right direction. A slow dark ride, with blessed Air Conditioning. Unfortunately it sounds like they don't plan on adding any more rides of that sort within the foreseeable future.
BDNeon I miss this log ride. Personally, I feel it shouldn’t have been taken out for Full Throttle. I love log rides, because it’s a fun slower option to rollercoasters. After 5 or 6 coasters I need a break anyway! I hope in their new developing section in the back of the park they seriously consider a new log ride, maybe one that goes through a mountain!
Best Log Flume ride ever....SFMM should have considered putting the new coaster in another part of the park
lanceflx63, They should have replaced Scream! for Full Throttle instead, Scream! is just a clone of Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure.
This was the first ever ride I went on as a child at Six Flags. I was 4 when I rode this. I am now 13 and have a membership and I was looking to Cool off so I wanted to go here. All of a sudden, where is it? I miss this ride dearly.
They really took this out for Full Throttle? This ride look so much better...
+ParpLarp kjrht
This ride fucking sucked compared to Full Throttle.
HyproDevo+ I am surprised they put this log flume ride in and took out a roller coaster. They already have a log flume ride that is shorter.
But then again, if Full Throttle rider counts has gone way down, they will replace a ride because of it.
No this was replaced by Full Throttle
@@smileallthetime299wtf are you smoking
Thanks for the memories Log Jammer!!
Looks so peaceful, and fun.
Mann this takes me back to the middle school days back in 2010 😂😂😭
It's not the same without it, I know Jetstream is there but I don't really like it, it's just not the same!
I agree, I liked Log Jammer way better than jet stream. And they could have totally adde full throttle somewhere else, there's so much room around the park!
Terry Kecxon It's literally the same, except one is in a log and the other a jet ski
not mario too much expense and maintenance to keep both. If you include the rapids and boat ride they had 4 flume type rides.
@@isaiahnapier6962 should've removed jet stream instead and put full throttle there. That backside of the park only had 1 roller coaster at the time, apocalypse
Who else felt like they were going to fall off the edge when passing the part on 2:41 ? Miss this ride so much.
Full throttle blows! Bring back log jammer!!!!!!!!!
I'm with you
Lol I bet you haven't even been on full throttle
yes it did, you haven't even been on full throttle have you...
Ryan Brennan Yes but it's just another roller coaster I can find anywhere it's not but what 30 seconds long?
***** They need more than one water ride. It gets HOT in the summer and if Jet Stream is crowded you're screwed.
This seems very relaxing and the water is so nice😭
I miss this so much, I remember going on it over and over again and I loved the drop parts.
This ride gives me major nostalgia.
Ikr
RIP Log Jammer. Thanks for the soaking good times.
Really miss Logjammer, I road as the last ride, at the end of the night the first time me and the kids visited there. Right at 10 pm and they hadn't stopped the line, I thought it was closed cuz there was no line, we were so glad to get a chance to ride it. It was awesome, long and winding. 2 small drops, then one long drop and I thought it was over, then came the REALLY long drop into the pool below, we were in flume ride heaven. It was as good, to me, as riding X2 as the last ride of the day. So pissed they removed it for full throttle, which to me is a really dumb roller coaster. Logjammer was the greatest flume ride I ever rode and I have such sentimental memories of it that are almost dreamlike now. It was great to ride it at night, I wish there was a video that existed as it added an extra element of surprise and suspense. That final drop was the best with that splash in the pool. So glad we got to ride it one last time in August of 2011. We hadn't been to the park since 2008 because the great recession was really hard on us as i lost my job of 15 years in late 2009 after months of pay cuts. Bankruptcy, barely keeping our house, severely cutting back on expenses. As soon as we had the means, we got back there after the bank sent be a $6000 in a check for over charging on mortgage interest. We were so gleeful and this was the first ride we road at the park because we loved it so much. They should rip out full throttle and rebuild a 21st century Logjammer, Mark 2 with 5 or 6 drops, lol!
NOW ya talking
Log Jammer was the sh¡t....indeed!!!
Miss it terribly!!!!
Still like Full Throttle though.
I miss that. The log jammer was SO dope:/
Thank you for posting! Sad this is gone, a fantastic fun ride I enjoyed over 40 some odd years!
R.I.P LOG JAMMER ... ILL MISS U !!!!! ;(
There is a flood of memories flowing watching this video. It is a shame they took it out.
Theme park history is so fascinating. I'll never be on this ride and it's kinda sad
I grew up in the 70's and 80's going to MM, and this was one my favorite rides in the park. One of best
Magic Mountain once had two of the best log rides around.
Now, one of those is going to log ride heaven!
Awesome!
hi
hey sasuke how is naruto and hi TheCoasterViews
@@mr.gameandwatchoilpanicove452 Hello
Last time I been on this ride was back in 1996, jr high school trip. Good times.
I missed this ride. A third water ride at the front of the park while the other two were in the rear portion of the park. Now, it's a bit of a walk to get on the wet rides when Valencia gets into the 100's is like "ugh!!!!".
I’m so happy you posted this. It’s my favorite log ride of all-time!
awww. I'm going to miss this ride! i was very fortunate to ride the Log Jammer when on holiday past June. Was going to revisit on my next holiday... Long Live the Log Jammer!!
love this ride so much ,but they took it down and put full throttle
where it used to be
Should have took out jet stream instead of log jammer!
There is no room
This ride was better than jet stream. Change my mind.
RIP Log Jammer! Rode it back in summer 2004. I had just turned 10 at the time. Good times!!!! ~ c:
my first water ride :( I WILL MISS YOU LOG JAMMER R.I.P :(
Everyone says this was a really good ride but I never got the chance to go on it! It closed before my first time at Six Flags. (It was still there when I went to Hurricane Harbor though :\ )
Really good, clean water here. Thanks for the video.😊 really great ride.
Such a bummer they took this out. Much better than jet stream. Memories
Is there a petition to save this ride...don't they know that they have one the best log rides in the world...I been riding this since 1971....what a shame!
I miss this ride 😢
brings back memories
Ah, fond memories. Went on this 1st in 1979 with my brother, Chris. Never been on anything like it before (England back then really had very limited ride choices). I remember that last hill and thinking 'Oh, sh*t!' I got very, very wet......
This one of the coolest flume rides i have seen ... Cool.. it's a shame i live in Philadelphia so far away from it .... Well i'm happy i live in Philly and not in California
I miss this ride.
This occupied more prime real estate than Jet Stream. They're going to open a new record breaking coaster here in the next few years and didn't want to put it on a parking lot like Scream.
I would've liked this when I was a little kid, but now I prefer Log Flumes that have themeing such as Timber Log Ride from Knott's, Dudley Do Right from Islands of Adventure, and better yet, Splash Mountain from Disneyland, which even has a drop in the dark.
I miss Log Jammer.. but Full Throttle is pretty lit so I'll take it.
Rip Log Jammer
Yes, the coaster will have the world's largest loop at 160 feet tall and have 3 launches (one backwards) at over 70 mph. The entire land is about 7 acres and most of it will be used as a new themed land for the park (including the coaster).
I love these water rides!! Great video!!
The best!
i miss this ride
Log Jammer was lit
timber mountain log ride is still one of my favorites
Full throttle is the new roller coaster.
I'm so glad they took that down and put full throttle full throttle is my fav ride now
Awesome memories
i am so excited! i am going soon!
wow!!! I cant belive that closes
full throttle is going to be the best ride in the world (so far)
BDNeon I totally agree with you!
the most intense ride in the park
I used to love this ride as a kid. But out with the old and in with the new. Full Throttle is in its place now.
Love six flags
I like how you get tossed around by the current instead of just anticipating a drop. :)
1971?! Wow, I loved this ride!
This ride is so relaxing i dont know why
I feel stupid. I went for my first time in November 2017 and tried looking for this.
so true and those are the good ones.
@sharpproductions was the ride fun
This was my favorite ride at kennywood park and they took it out last year sucks..
Awww I miss this ride! :( I only for to ride it once which was when I was about 5 or 6 years old: /
Classic ride! I love it.
Wow that looks like a roller coaster I could actually handle! lol -terrified of roller coasters-
i remember this i went last year but in great america i had lots of fun
I miss this ride so much ;n;
Aw this was my favortie water ride.. Sad for Six Flags to get rid of it.. :(
One of the best
