One of the very few Disney rides that's absolutely not for the faint of heart. You deserve a standing ovation for filming in the Orange Mission, goodness gracious!
Only ride at any disney park that ever freaked me out. I was close to hitting the emergency stop lol.
@@erikbalanza theres an emergency stop? lol
@Lenovo189 😄
may have been passed out the whole time lol
Just done it today and never again , never seen an emergency stop button .
Little me: I want to be an astronaut when I grow up!
Me after riding this ride: Yeah... no.
See, we're going to WDW for the first time next year (we've only been to Disneyland) and I wanted to ride this ride, specifically the orange side, because I wanted to be an astronaut when I was little as well. After reading comments like yours though, I'm thinking the green side is gonna be a lot better of a bet 😅
@@emmicah7720 Yes, the green side is much better and much more comfortable. I totally didn't expect it to be as intense as it was. 😁
@@emmicah7720Honestly, I would recommend trying some intense rides outside of Disney world to see how you handle. Disney really only has these warnings because of some accidents that happened twice that unfortunately resulted in deaths. Keep in mind that these people had health problems. These warnings are really just hear to make sure they don’t get sued, then again, if you don’t feel comfortable riding orange, maybe ride green 😅
Man I was on that ride for the first time ever and I went straight for the Orange line and I love it and love the feeling of getting thrown back in your seat like u do in a airplane taking off when I go again next year and the following year I'm going to that ride again
was forced to go on this ride when I was like 8. I screamed and bawled the whole time lmfao. 19 years later and never ever again.
When they turned off the lights and said something to dream about, I legit thought I was going to die.
You mean hypersleep? That was like a brain scrambling.
I went into this ride blind not expecting it to be intense at all. First of all, the cabins are tiny and totally immersive. But what makes it really intense is the force. I remember riding it with my mom and she blacked out briefly… I started to just as the force begins to let up.
I thought I had died
This is the only attraction in all of WDW where I was a little queasy and needed a moment after riding. Kudos to you 4K for riding this while holding a camera.😉
Thank you Andrew! I always feel terrible after riding the orange mission as well lol. Filming the whole time made me feel even worse! I have been on the orange mission many times since this ride opened, but I prefer the green mission for sure
@@4KWDW I feel great after riding it.
If the ventilation is off even the slightest amount, space sickness ensues. Not feeling well, don't go outside to the warm until you feel better.
I am under 18 years old and i am going on the orange mission when i visit disney in September I have a felling i can handle it because i very rarely get sick i paused the read the sign and it said no back or neck injuries so i am gonna be extra careful for the next few days
Also if you have to rate the amount of nausea out of 10 how high would you rate it
I love how this ride is doing everything possible to tell you NOT to ride it.
I know it is😊
The orange side spins you fast as hell but the green side is calm like star tours, it doesn't spin at all and only moves you up and down.
@@BarackObamaG🥱green
@@sharpshoota8274 Exactly.
@@BarackObamaG just got off for the 3rd time. Amazing
the amount of times that they warn you this is gunna be intense is hilarious
I mean yeah, but all rides do that. And "intense" doesn't prepare you for that G force.
I know right. When I went there on March 2023 they mention that a lot. There was a moment that I said this is really going to be very intense since they mention it a lot.😂
The experience was very intense for me
so when this opened, initially all of the sims had g-forces on and a lot of people had motion sickness and/or complained that they didn't warn them enough, that's why they introduced the green team without g-forces
@@chelsear1112 When NASA rode this and said it was authentic to the intense training they have, you KNOW it's going to be intense
I rode this a few years ago and I literally thought I would have a heart attack and die. It took every bit of focus I could muster to stay conscious. I have never been so afraid in my life. Would not recommend lol
this is exactly how I felt today
Seconded! I tried to find the button to stop the ride and couldn't. I kept my eyes closed
Understanding. It's not for everyone
I rode this attraction when I was a kid. Let's just say I haven't rode since.
Same. Omg I started hurling: had my eyes closed. Prayed it would be over. Horrible!!!!😂
I'll take this over the old ALIEN ENCOUNTER ride that used to be in Magic Kingdom. I was so terrified when it started breathing hot air on my neck that I ducked my head and busted my nose on the shoulder restraint. I'm sure I scared many children coming off that ride pale, blood dripping down my face, and sobbing.
this was first ride in 25 years and they warned me so many times it would he intense that I seriously thought I should opt out but my kids and wife really wanted to do it. I needed a major breather for most of the day after that experience. I'll stick w the Dumbo ride
😂😂😂
Thank you for sharing this. I am majorly claustrophobic so this is definitely something I wouldn't ride but I was curious about it. You did a great job with the video!
Went in with my husband last year... Didn't realize it would be as intense as it was. After we "survived" he has said it was the most angry he has ever been with me (since I talked him into going on). The G Force and claustrophobia were real. I laugh now but couldn't do it again. Thanks for filming it!
I once got stuck on this ride for 40 minutes with my parents and siblings. we eventually ended up renaming it mission claustrophobia as we were stuck in that moist and hot environment. After getting off with assistance, we were given a free no wait ride pass for that same ride (this was the last thing we wanted after being stuck on that ride for 40 minutes). Out of all my years of being a coaster enthusiast, I have ridden nearly 200 roller coasters and many more rides and I have never experienced such discomfort on any ride.
OMG!! 40 minutes in that pod😱 I would’ve died! It’s an Extremely claustrophobic ride! Would never do it again
I think that’s one of the worst (or best if it’s your things) about the ride. It’s soooo immersive. A little too immersive for most.
@@sketchtheparadigmyork1217 I agree and
I swear I felt the worst feeling while waiting to get onto this ride, and I have never left a ride in my life but I stepped away at the last second before choosing to get in the pod. Idk what is up with this ride but it has seriously bad vibes. No interest in going on it and I’m usually the type to do so.
The take off is where I felt it most
Yes it g force was crazy I thought I was gonna die lol
you are made of steel for holding your camera that still during this ride
This is one of my favorite rides from Disney World. I remember I first rode this ride back in 2004 and it was quite the experience. I still liked Gary Sinise as the Mission Control Director more. Now I just need to ace flying a shuttle in Kerbal Space Program so I recreate this mission.
I’m here ten months late, how you doing on that mission recreation?
Take the warnings seriously. I rode this ride and I thought I was going to the upper room 😩. I passed out twice.
This was the worst ride of my life. If we ruin this planet and have to go to Mars I'll happily die before getting in another spaceship. Just recalling the memory of the claustrophobic capsule makes my heart rate jump. No no no thank you.
Screw the haters, this ride is actually pretty cool! Sure, I did feel a little feeble after riding it with my sister, but I've been obsessed with space as a kid, and so I thought, "Why not!"
I've ridden this ride so many times I can feel the g-forces just watching the video. Seems like the visuals have been updated since last time.
Yup. I also saw they removed the Hubble and inserted the James Webb Space Telescope instead.
I felt a little knot in my stomach watching this but i think i can handle the real thing
I’ve been to Disney quite a few times and am going this summer and I have rode almost every ride but this will not be one of them thanks for recording that way I’m not missing out on anything
Whoa! I did that years ago and decided it’s not my favorite! I tend to be claustrophobic and I’m glad I experienced it, but for now I can just see it vicariously from your point of view! Thanks for taking one for the team!!!😂🤣
Hahaha oh yes I can understand that for sure! I always feel queasy after riding the orange one, but I still enjoy the experience every here and there lol. Lately I just like to ride the green one! That one is so chill and I never feel sick after! Thanks for watching as always 😃
@@4KWDWbro i hope you feel better
Good luck team! All of us here at Mission Control are proud to be a part of this historic liftoff of this mission to Mars.
The take off on this ride made my toes curl! 😂
Thanks 4K for taking us on this ride! I pass on this ride now and I find it too tight an experience - being 6' 5", it seemed too tight for me to be fun and not to mention nauseous for two hours afterwards. But I can see how some folks will love it, I am just not one of them!
It’s my pleasure! I totally understand that! I also feel so bad after riding the orange mission. I have been on it plenty of times, but lately I just ride the green one. That one is so much easier and very chill. Thanks for watching as always Tomas!
This is something i wouldn’t ride. I felt something weird on the star tour ride, like claustrophobia and dizzy, definitely this is not for me. 😢
@@4KWDWi hope you feel better soon
Can’t wait to have my husband ride this magnificent ride!😂 he is all about moon, space rockets! He is a pilot so he is used to all that. He is a bit rusty but loves this kind of stuff. He just watched your video and sure he will love it! I am sad we missed it last time we were there at Epcot. We do plan to come back for a third time! This time this is on the list . I’ll wait outside with my preggo belly eating food and our toddler while he enjoys the fun 😊
update us on how he liked it when you guys go again !
My husband and i blacked out on this ride. Never again 😂
I rode this ride when I was 6, completely unknowing of what was going to be happening. All I saw was spaceship. I was with my grandfather, and he didn’t think the orange course would be THAT bad considering it was just a ride, and I was technically tall enough. I was scared of roller coasters, so this seemed like a great compromise.
Little to say that I could barely reach the control panel before the launch, but afterwards I was a giggly mess because I quite literally couldn’t move my arms far off the chair, let alone to the buttons. Smelt of barf bags, and the couple next to us was a mess, lmfao. I can’t remember most of it, but it was enough to make this ride a good one in my book.
I walked away from this ride today and after reading the comments about it I’m glad that I did
My father and brother had just eaten lunch when they went on this. My brother came off fine, but my dad was not so lucky. For the rest of the day, he was either throwing up his guts or was dead asleep.
Just came off this bloody thing- was wondering why I feel so giddy/nauseous, reading the comments explains why I feel like I need to lie down.
I did not realise it would be so enclosed- you only realise after they close the doors.
It’s ridiculous- my wife wanted to get off and was banging the door before the ride started but nothing happened and she just had to bear it.
Yes I think it should be renamed as “the coffin experience” they put you in a coffin and then you feel like you’re dying
They warned you like ten times. Now I wanna try it just to see how it could possibly be this extreme. The UA-camr managed to take out and hold their phone and move it around so it must not be that claustrophobic.
Lmao i almost went on this ride back in 2005 before they had the orange and the green line. Back then it was just orange. I was only 10 and my older brother was desperate to go on this one. Since there were 4 people in my family and 4 spaces in the pod we were like okay sure, we can all do this one. Me and my mom were SKETCHY about it since we both get motion sick pretty easy. I remember standing on the numbered dots and my mom decided she wasn’t going in while we were watching the safety video. I was having second thoughts about it but my dad and my brother were kind of coaxing me into it saying I’d have fun when it was through. The three of us got in and pulled the restraints down and idk what came over my dad but as soon as that restraint was down he turned to me and said, “you gotta get the hell out of here, kid.” 😂 I think I was probably crying because my mom had chickened out. When the cast member came by to check on us he saw I was scared and my dad explained why and the guy was like “oh yeah he needs to get off for sure”
When my brother and dad came off the ride they were like stumbling and sick for the rest of the night. And I remember my dad telling me and my mom we were lucky to have not gotten on. My brother loved it though lol.
I’d be interested in riding it now with the green line! Randomly remembered how I never actually got on and decided to look up a video of what it was like. Thanks for filming!
Your dad is awesome lol
My husband and I rode this thinking it was no big deal and were both completely nauseated for a while afterwards.
The last time I rode this was back a couple of years after it opened, when they had Gary Sinise for the pre-ride movie. I enjoyed it back then, but I'll probably have to go green team next time I'm down there, just to play it safe.
Yes, going on the green one is a good move! You still get the cool experience of the ride, but it is very chill with no motion sickness. Thanks for watching as always Bryan!
I went to Disney in 2009 and Gary was the pre-ride movie. I was surprised to see they changed it
@@4KWDW isn’t it different ride ? Like instead of the orange mission you just drift over different planets no?
@@sharpshoota8274from the videos I've seen, green has you go around earth and it doesn't have the g forces.
Ride start at 10:15

The Lord’s work 🙌🏽
I was completely oblivious to what the ride actually does. When you tilt back on the launch I'm like ok, it's getting a bit real. When the G kicked in I lost it 😆 suprised and breathtaken. Went back on a couple hours later to enjoy it knowing it was coming!
What does it do? Are you upside down or something
No the whole ride is a centrifuge and it spins around which simulates the feeling of blasting off and accelerating. My word of advice for lift off is to exhale calmly and deeply so you don’t get overwhelmed and don’t turn your head from side to side as that can really make you feel ill
this is my all time favorite ride at disney
this was definitely intense, and i definitely cried a little, but one of my favorite rides!! rode it twice right after each other (shortest wait i have ever seen at disney), orange mission both times. i love it so much, much more intense in real life though
I went on this when I was about 12. I loved it because I would always binge watch CSI NY and knew Gary from that. Sad to see him gone
I rode this with my family 2 weeks ago on our last day at Disney, it completely ruined the rest of our day. Felt totally nauseated with a bad headache
What did you expect? The orange ride spins to create g-forces while the green one doesn't, it's your fault for going on it and seriously, it's only 2.5g, I went on this when I was 12 along with my Dad and sister who was 14 at the time and all three of us were fine
@@weirdstonk729 2.5 gs is nothing not saying it’s not intense for some riders I’ve been on x2 has my most intense ride to date and that ride I shit my pants not really but fuck it was a blast I’ve also blacked out on Goliath that has a very intense helix that puts out a crazy amount of gs. But I’ve never road mission space so I can’t give my opinion on this ride but can’t wait too one day.
My mom and I rode this one about 7 years ago. Don’t know how 11 year old me could stand it. After the ride, my mom sat down for a while lmao. This one is no joke!
My biggest regret ever was not wanting to try the orange one as a kid
Nah, nothing great about this other than feeling like you're about to die.
@KBP120 I highly disagree. Such a fun and unique ride experience
I was 7 when I rode this. It traumatized me to the point that I stopped wanting to be an astronaut
I'm definitely in the minority here, but I actually enjoy the Orange version more than the Green, I do love that immersion with the G-forces pushing down on you. It's certainly not for everyone, and the Green version is still pretty cool regardless! This video's making me itch for my next trip to Disney though. >w<
Also while I did like the Gary Sinise version of the ride, as a Firefly fan, seeing Gina Torres makes me very happy.
I like orange more too. Its wayyy more fun than the green imo.
Ya know, it only spins at 16.2 RPM max. It's not the speed, it's the acceleration that produces the G load. Remember, while waiting for launch, many of the buttons and switches do things or make noises when activated. Miss working on this ride!
I love the big playground there too
I went on it two days ago on vacation. This ride was crazy. I thought it would be easy but the force was crazy. I thought I was gonna pass out and throw up.
I remember going on this when I was 8. I did not take my eyes off the screen when my dad say you’ll get sick if you look to the side haha. I hope to ride this again sometime
You can't say they didn't warn you ahead of time! :)
Haha yes that’s very true!
This ride was so fucking intense and fun, especially the fact that I went on this ride blindly with no expectations.
this ride is very fun. i rode both green and orange missions and they are both really fun.
I was surprised that, on my most recent ride through in 2023, I didn't feel the spinning, only the centrifugal forces generated by the spinning. The last time I've been to EPCOT before that was in 2019 and I do remember feeling the high-speed spinning in all of my previous ride-throughs, especially during the takeoff sequence.
Though I must say that this is one of my favorite rides at EPCOT.
Well done for getting this out so quickly
Thank you!
I grew up going on the green mission 😂 my first time on orange was with my friends because we were there for a high school chorus trip and they wanted to do the orange mission. I LOVE thrill rides I'll go on anything but I was terrified 😨
I'm going to Walt Disney world in November I'm excited
I’m excited for you!!
That’s awesome! 😃
Same I’ll be there from the 15-20th
My all time favorite movie is Interstellar so I’m excited to ride this in June!
was it fun?
Just did this ride as a kid it was awesome my mom on the other hand is having a hard time 😂
Omg Gina Torres 🥰 I was so happy when she popped up
The g forces is crazy!
I absolutely loved this ride! I was not expecting it to be so intense. The amount of times we were warned made me really nervous though! The g forces are like nothing I’ve even experienced 😂 I really liked it. You really feel like you’re being launched into space. I really wanted to go on it again but we had a lightning lane time to get to.
My god you all are making me feel like a stud for riding this.... I rode it when I was 10 years old and did absolutely fine. The one thing I noticed is if you look away from the screen, you'll start feeling sooo dizzy.
I also didn't realize I was spinning around fast af lmao, probably wouldn't have ridden it if I knew that.
I rode this ride in it's testing phase before grand opening when it was something stupid like 3.5 Gs, I actually thought it was fun but almost everyone on the ride was getting sick.
My wife’s favorite ride. Thanks
It’s my pleasure Terrence! Thanks for watching!
I haven’t done this in years. Did you enjoy it? I need to start checking out the gift shops like the one at the end of this ride even if I don’t go on them. They have some pretty cool stuff. Thanks for taking us along.
I did enjoy it, but I also felt a little weird after but that’s normal. I always feel terrible after riding the orange one, but I still enjoy riding it from time to time. The green one is better though! The store does have some unique merchandise. Thanks for watching as always!
@@4KWDW You are braver than I ever was. I’ve only done it once but I’m glad I did. It’s a super cool experience.

In 4K thanks
It’s my pleasure George! Yes, I do plan on filming both of those soon! The crowds and wait times have been very low recently, so I’m trying to film as many rides as I can
Wow good for you filming this one! This is also the only time a Disney ride has made me feel sick too! Now don't film it again for your own sake! Haha
Haha yea, it was rough filming this one! I usually always feel terrible after riding the orange one, but I felt even worse after filming it while riding. Not sure why lol but I definitely won’t film it again any time soon. I’ll stick with the green mission!

Thank you so much Stephanie!
Your very welcome sunshine
Does anyone have footage of this thing from the outside as it's on?
I do love the G-forces in the orange ride so much I rode it 3 times
I haven't been on this ride since I was like maybe 10 ish years old and all I remember is almost blacking out or being nauseous from the boosters haha
It is gonna be exciting
GLAD IT'S STILL THERE BEST SPACE RIDE EVER
Excellent
Decided to go on this by myself while my wife and son went on green mission. As soon as it started I knew I made a big mistake.
I have never felt so ill on any ride ever!! I will never ride this again!
So... You walk and watch a screen, walk and watch a screen, walk and SIT DOWN and watch a screen, and then -PLOT TWIST- walk and watch more screens? Huh? This is Disney magic?
I just put dashes as pauses, apparently that does strike through. UA-cam genius design as usual.
I went on the green mission, and no, not really. To be honest it felt quite real and I definitely still was a bit shook after going on it.
Try orange version. The G-Force effect is incredible
I always get off the ride smiling and having a good time (I’m 12), I think there is something wrong with y’all.
I remember going on this when it first opened and being so disappointed that it was just a spinning ride lol. I was expecting a newer version of Space Mountain or something. I guess we eventually got that with Cosmic Rewind.
Thanks you 4K WDW

No problem at all! Thanks for always watching 😊

This whole "show" is thrilling and fantastic! but, the last two friends who rode with me did not do so well. so I'll ride it if on my own, but will not ask someone to experience the Orange Mission with me again...just feel bad about my friends' bad experience.
Yes, I totally understand that! Many family and friends of mine can’t ride it. I have been on it many times over the years, but lately I find myself riding the green one more. I always feel queasy after the orange mission, but I still enjoy the experience every here and there lol.
The rrcasting of Gary Sinise is interesting. I guess once they let you go from Disney there goes everything lol
If you get motion sickness don’t even attempt this ride I don’t get motion sickness but almost did lol
Yeah i rode this ride as a kid, and haven't rode it ever since. Sorry, i didn't like the feeling of that ride. I know some people can handle it, and kudos to them.
I think I'll skip on this ride my Disney trip haha
same! i have a severe fear of vomit so this ride is NOT for me
Skip!!! It's make me super dizzy
That is some good architecture 0:17
I rode this back 2008 and I’m still not right!
Este juego es una locura. Vengo de hacerlo hace una semana y definitivamente se siente como si uno estuviera en el espacio. La fuerza de gravedad es tremenda
If u are looking at my comment, DO NOT GO ON ORANGE MISSION!!! Made me sick for 2 days and I never had motion sickness before🤬if u like really thrilling ride with big drops go to rock n roller in Hollywood or yeti ride in animal kingdom
Happy Nat'l Roller Coaster Day...and would do a coaster before the Orange side! As a kid I don't think I bought it, but I have that "backscratcher" & the embrowdierd ears now in the Vault Collection. I'd hope the 50th logo will be on the dishes, etc. What are you wanting (is there an exhausted list?) because they are suppose to put it out during the 18 mos. & besides the D&B bag (MK,Uptown Jewelers) for me, we know ShopDiz will sell out?!
Hahaha yes I also prefer roller coasters over the orange mission. I also have the vintage ears from many years ago! I would love to get just about everything they showed for the Vault collection, but that may not be possible lol. I definitely will get the shirts though. I’m sure shop Disney will sell out on this stuff super fast unfortunately
Nope, never again. Once take off happened I tried my damnest to look right at the monitor like it said and it didn't help. I felt so nauseous and lightheaded that we had to sit for an hour to feel somewhat normal again. Loved epcot though, just will never do this again :)
This ride still going strong 20 years later almost.
Lightyear is probably gonna kill it. The beginning of the trailer looks strikingly similar to Mission Space. My theory is that this ride is gonna get replaced once the movie comes out, or at least get re-themed.
Thats one long ass hallway!
I don't get how this ride is intense? Just looks like you watch a movie on a tiny little window sized screen lol. I'm assuming the "vehicle" you're in moves somehow but does it go upside down? Does it spin fast to give that G force feeling? 🤔
There are two sides to the ride. Green Side is pretty tame, with only a bit of motion simulator movement. Orange Side is in a centrifuge which spins you rapidly to simulate the G-force you would be experiencing. As far as I know there are no inversions on the ride.
@@thesurlywombat Aahhh Gotcha! Thanks for the info
Yeah it’s honestly pretty intense. It doesn’t even feel like you’re spinning because the visuals on the screen trick your mind, it feels like you’re being pressed into your seat like there’s hundreds of pounds suddenly weighing you down. One of my fav rides!
