Well Cameron, you did it. Finally got me to get off my butt and sell my Benz I’ve had for 5.5 years and tomorrow I’m going to pick up a 07 NBP FA5. I’m only about a 12 hour round trip tho. Leaving at 9 am and got to be at work at midnight lol. Love your content and so glad I found this channel buddy.
The fastest I was able to get on my old FBO tuned FA5 was about 7.2ish. But I didn't have the best tires for launching. Just an FYI when you get the header, you'll need to upgrade the rear motor mount. Otherwise the header will bang against the subframe.
If you get a new clutch, i recommend exedy stage 1. You can’t go wrong with that!! And also a brand new oem throw out bearing and just resurface your stock flywheel or you can upgrade to a lighter flywheel
To gain extra speed, when shifting gears, you want to clutch and shift gears at almost the same time. Just let enough time to not grind when pushing in the clutch. It should not be like 1-clutch, 2-shift. More like 1-Already slightly pulling on the gear knob ready to slam it into gear, 2-clutch near mid way and forcing it into the next gear 3-Keep your foot on the gas the whole time and GO GO GO!! :) Good luck!
stickier tires and motor mounts itll help i used to have a veloster Turbo and the motor mount alone helped alot went from wheel hop to doing rolling burnouts i just needed sticky tires
would've loved to see you do the oil change, I've heard too many horror stories at quick change places and damn $100 with a discount?? my brothers twin turbo v6 Cadillac ct6 is $95 oil, filter, and tire rotation at my local mechanic. im in PA but im not in a rural area so idk that just sounds crazy too me. love ur vids though cam keep it up, i think you got a nice example si!
Yes probably also because the filter is in a crappy location at the bottom of the engine and right above the CV Boot / Axel. I bought the Honda Snap On deflection tool to drain the oil and now no problem...
@@edwardinvegas people put filter on way too tight most of time when i buy their cars. you dont really need to tighten it too hard, just turn it with hand without using arm until it stops then do quarter turn or half turn. itll be easy next time taking it off.
I drive a 2002 Crown Vic and when that car was new the quarter mile time according to Ford was 16 seconds. Now this 8th gen is a second faster than my Crown Vic when it was new. This isn't a bad time that you got considering the Florida heat and I'm sure this car from the factory was tested in cooler conditions.
When new I was able to get my FA5 Si to do a 14.9 @ 95 bone stock at a 1/4 mile drag strip. Lots of 15.0-15.1’s. Couldn’t tell you what DA was since this was like 2008 lol.
To be fair Motortrend and Car and Driver use 1ft. Rollout for their advertised times. So, you'd be 7.1s to compare to their times. I'm sure they're at a track too, so can launch higher rpms and not spin as much. Great video!🔥
Dang brother, as a car guy, you really should be doing your own oil changes. Not just to save money but for the peace of mind. I suggest Pennzoil platinum as #1 or #2 Valvoline full synthetic in the 12 quart box jugs they sell at Walmart for $58. And good thing you're modding the Si cause that is slooow lol We draggy'd my buddies daily driver, which is a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, and that did 0-60 in 8.8 secs and the 1/4 mile somewhere in the 16s at 88mph. And that's a hybrid lol
Dude, I came here to see if I was the only one blown away for the price of an oil change. I'd rather spend about 35 bucks in total for everything and do it on my own to save money.
@@Newyen6MT Buy the Valvoline full synthetic $58 12 quart box jug for better savings. That's almost 2 and a half oil changes. And stick to Pennzoil, Valvoline, or even Castrol oil over Mobil 1. Mobil 1 is living on the name it built years ago, when you watch independent test videos on UA-cam, Mobil 1 doesn't do very well. Heck, I think it's on par with Walmart's Supertech oil brand oil.
If you hit v tec, you will lose oil in the form of heat to actuate the cam lobe :) just check her every two weeks or before spirited driving, I keep mine at the 2/3 fill mark and hit v tec every single day for years, just keep her wet with sweet sweet extra oil lol
Based on your wheel in the runs it looks you might need an alignment my man. The mods will also help open it up and make it more exciting for sure. Miss my old RSX Type S
Keep 😂 an eye on you oil level weekly. I told you it burns. It's my daily and over the course of an oil change it burns between 1/2 to a quart of oil. I do the oil change myself for less than $40 with Valvoline Max life Syn blend 5w/30. I tried once Mobil 1 and it burned even more...at 288.8K miles I can't complain.
For reference my 10th Gen Si with Phearable 1.5 tune and short ram intake does 30-100 MPH in 10.32 seconds. Interesting, would have never guessed that it was almost 5 seconds faster than a stock 8th Gen
It’s 22-23 for a propane tank exchange at Publix. They thought you didn’t bring one back. Take your receipt and they will adjust it for sure. Also, did you check your oil on the slanted driveway? That’s not going to give you an accurate reading on the dipstick
you would want to spin a little on launch on street tires. that was almost perfect launch. if you feel any bogs EVEN the slight bog you have to rev up a bit more each time until you can smooth it out on launch. you did good though. i did street drag for years and did many swaps with friends that owns 600+hp civics. i recommend getting solid mounts for it like 65a to 80a for comfort daily unless you dont care then 90a. been watching you for years.
0-60 never great bc you can’t hit 60 in 2nd gear no matter how hard you try. Believe me. I used to try constantly in my 8th gen. But once you hit 3rd gear. Vtec pulls are fun.
Those K20 motors are built to last. The K20 in my CRV is at 309K American MILES
