I am so glad to see you show a fireproof safe in the beginning! I am planning to buy one because you just never know what can happen and I hope other people who save cash at home do the same, if they don't already I hope that they see this video and think twice about purchasing a fireproof safe! Thank you! I have two of them one have birth certificates and other important documents that would be a hassle to replace. Def invest in one, as you said, you never know!

Hey I don't know if you still have it but the $2 bill is actually a collectors item and can be worth some serious money! Might actually make more sense for you to pull it out and try to sell it to get more money than to just keep it in your sinkings funds!

Hi Beth! I do have checking and savings account. I honestly swipe my cash back credit card for pretty much everything and then pay it in full after my weekly check-ins. That way I earn cash back point and don’t pay interest. 😊💙

I loved your video, I'm a teacher too and new to using sinking fund this year. My question to you is, what do you do in the summer? When your income changes, do you take a break from funding all your funds?
Hi! Thanks for watching. Honestly, I’ve been blessed enough to work the summer programs, so I honestly haven’t had a full summer off. I usually just have a 2 week break the end off August. This year, however, I don’t see myself working the summer program. I would definitely have to decrease the amounts I add or put a hold all together. I am currently working on being two months ahead and am looking for side jobs.

hi! I enjoy watching those and I honestly did think about it, but since I use them often, I’ll be stuck looking for change when I transfer the money from my SF to my back to bank envelope. I don’t think that will work for me 😕

🥰 you can do it! Start with a few categories and save little by little. In 2015 my daughter and I went to Disney for the first time with what I saved with my $1 challenge. I saved every $1 bill I came across for a little over a year.

I don't get it, why are you not putting your money in a saving account and using a credit card to make your transactions?
The savings account I had before closed my account for making too many withdrawals. I was told to switch to a checking account. The checking accounts I have don’t acquire any interest, and being that I’m very visual and hands on, I decided to keep it in cash. I do use a credit card to make practically all my purchases, but having the physical cash helps me not go over budget and really think about my purchases. Thanks for interacting with me. 🙂
The reason that stuffing envelopes works is because it is cash. Its “real” money.
