Fungus in general are more closely related to animals than plants A long time ago, two groups split off of each other, and were the Plants and Fungoanimals After a while, Fungus and Animals diversified off of each other But we can still see their close relation with animals such as Coral
@@andryuu_2000 I did in fact simplify it and "Fungoanimals" didn't technically exist But we last shared a common ancestor with plants 2150 million years ago And last shared a common ancestor with fungi 1350 million years ago We were last related to amoebas 1950 million years ago, but that still means there were about 600 million years when "fungi" and "animals" were the same thing And, in fact, sponges and corals are among the first animals to split and diversify on the animal family tree, meaning they are the closest related animals to fungus, because they were some of the earliest animals

@bina nocht ah my dad found soo many bollets! So far he's gotten 5 drawstring backpacks full of all kinds of mushrooms in 2 days! And they've all been found on our farm 💖💖 Too bad I don't really like mushrooms :/
My sister just found a bunch of them a couple days ago. We breaded and fried them into nuggets, and I'm not kidding, they taste like chicken. I'm not a fan of the texture tho, really dense and slightly rubbery.
Puffballs are best before the outer skin turns brownish, the whiter the outside, the better, and usually smaller than a golfball. We normally tossed them into soup or a stirfry to soak up the flavours, since like tofu or paneer, they don't have much of a taste of their own, but they soak up flavour readily.
Make sure that the puffball isn't ready to create spores. The puffball is basically at its younger stage, later on the insides will get kinda like a soft fluffy texture, a hoke in the top, which is to release the spore, with is kind of like a dust. It's made so that when raindrops hit it it will release the spores
Only a handle of poisonous mushrooms are fatally poisonous. There are people who document and id mushrooms all over the internet so this kind of fear mongering is tiring and unwarranteed.
Please be careful with puffballs they have a short season and they can cause alot of health issues if you eat them when they're mature aka the inside will start turning yellow/brown

Fungus in general are more closely related to animals than plants
A long time ago, two groups split off of each other, and were the Plants and Fungoanimals
After a while, Fungus and Animals diversified off of each other
But we can still see their close relation with animals such as Coral
@@Jordan-pp5bo nice
They are closer to US than to Amoebas
@@Jordan-pp5bo that's simplistic and not accurate tbh, yeah early animals are "stationary" like sponges but Fungoanimals didn't really exist
@@andryuu_2000 I did in fact simplify it and "Fungoanimals" didn't technically exist
But we last shared a common ancestor with plants 2150 million years ago
And last shared a common ancestor with fungi 1350 million years ago
We were last related to amoebas 1950 million years ago, but that still means there were about 600 million years when "fungi" and "animals" were the same thing
And, in fact, sponges and corals are among the first animals to split and diversify on the animal family tree, meaning they are the closest related animals to fungus, because they were some of the earliest animals
Whoa, those mushrooms look straight out of a fairy tale!! So beautiful! I had no idea mushrooms like these existed! 😲
This was not what I was expecting to see today! Puffball mushrooms are my favorite and my family use to eat them all the time when I lived in MN. They grew in the forest area behind our house. Thank you for sharing this, I forgot how much I missed them!

Here in Germany they are called "Riesenbovist" (giant bovist)
We coat them in breadcrumbs and fry them like Schnitzel. Very tasty!
Yall fry everything in breadcrumbs 😂😂

It made me feel so excited to try it! 😊
That's a great idea! Thanks for the awesome videos!
That almost looks like chicken! Interesting, ive never liked mushrooms, but I didn't know they could look that good! I always thought they were sapouse to be rubbery and slimy
I used to hate mushrooms, but once I started working in a kitchen I learned a bunch of ways to prepare them and they are one of my favourite foods now! Rubbery slimy mushrooms = tough dry chicken: means they weren’t cooked correctly 🤠💗
@@shelboy8453 it feels like unless I go to a steak restaurant I can't get good mushrooms... because they always seem that way... don't get mushrooms from a pizza place in breading it's absolutely disgusting 🤢
Otherwise mushrooms are fine 🙂
u should try snow mushroom. im not a big fan of wood ear mushroom which commonly used in many asian dishes. but then i tried snow mushroom in chicken and veggies soup when i was a kid and IT IS AWESOME! since then i eat any mushroom on my plate :D

Everybody is gangsta untill you pick the wrong one
would love to try this!
Yes! We always get those in our yard 🥰 you should try to find chicken of the woods! I've never personally eaten it, but we found some this year.
I never hear anyone talk about it!
@bina nocht ah my dad found soo many bollets! So far he's gotten 5 drawstring backpacks full of all kinds of mushrooms in 2 days!
And they've all been found on our farm 💖💖
Too bad I don't really like mushrooms :/
I found some last year! It’s wonderful
Grew up on chicken of the woods! They always grew under our trees, soooooo yummy!
My sister just found a bunch of them a couple days ago. We breaded and fried them into nuggets, and I'm not kidding, they taste like chicken. I'm not a fan of the texture tho, really dense and slightly rubbery.
You should try chicken of the coop, it is absolutely delicious.
Mushrooms are really nice for soaking up liquids, I like to stir fry them with a bit of soy sauce which goes really well with most of them.
Kid at lunch: yo what you eating? me: a puffball💀
The mushroom schnitzel looks so good!!!
Make sure that the puffball isn't ready to create spores. The puffball is basically at its younger stage, later on the insides will get kinda like a soft fluffy texture, a hoke in the top, which is to release the spore, with is kind of like a dust. It's made so that when raindrops hit it it will release the spores
Thanks 4 info

Please be careful with puffballs they have a short season and they can cause alot of health issues if you eat them when they're mature aka the inside will start turning yellow/brown
Puffball mushrooms are soooo freaking good!!!! My grandpa Cooks them up all the time and sends some over to my house. 10/10 would recommend

Chicken of the woods mushrooms are delicious and have a similar taste to chicken
@@benmorris7276 yeah I disagree... mushrooms don't taste like chicken.
If you think they do well your a mushroom yourself(you've been put in the dark and fed bullsh1t)
@@macc4 i didn't say it tastes exactly like chicken but similar it still tastes like a mushroom but It does has a similar texture and a slightly similar taste to chicken. Talking about chicken of the woods mushrooms that is. Not every mushroom taste the same. Wild mushrooms have a variety of tastes and textures the don't all taste and have the same texture as the shitty common grocery button mushrooms that are literally just different stages of portobello mushrooms which are the worst variety of mushroom I might add when it comes to taste and texture
@@benmorris7276 mushrooms and chicken are both super rich in umami flavours, I'd say they're a simular flavour profile. Much closer than anything sweet, spicy or tangy for example.
I thought you was going to use it as bread for a toasted sandwich, it really looks very bread like when being cut.
That's a good idea, but may need to be toasted as it doesn't taste the greatest raw
it looks like mochi ice cream 😭🤍
I want to find some of those so bad but I live in Australia so I can’t 😢 I can go find pine mushrooms though cuz there’s some feral pine trees near my place
For puffball mushrooms I prefer the smaller ones over large ones like this. They make great snacks (I’m pretty’s sure my dad just breads and fries them but it’s been forever since I’ve had any). My all time favorite forged mushroom, however, is chicken of the woods 🤤.
