What I did miss out on as a child is the vast majority of the Disney movies, and many remain unseen by me. As a fan of the shows, this comic triggered every nostalgic neuron in my brain, and I absolutely plan on looking up the series. Well chosen, mystery patron!
Fun fact: Donald Duck *also* has a superhero career in comics as Paperinik/The Duck Avenger. In fact, there's conjecture that the reason that Darkwing was created was that Tony Anselmo was just starting his run as Donald they were trying to ease him into the role (which is why Donald was rarely on in the 87 Ducktales)
*Kid's WB*: Mostly watched their DCAU stuff (Batman TAS season 4, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond and a little bit of Static Shock), MIB the series, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! (and Whatever toonami drippings aired). *Fox Kids*: mostly watched Early Batman TAS, Digimon, X-MEN TAS, a little bit of Spiderman TAS a little bit of Power Rangers (Mostly Time Force), Big Guy and Rusty. (I'm surprised Escaflowne was on FOX kids, never caught it there though.) *Disney Afternoon/One Saturday Morning*: mostly watched Rescue Rangers (Surprised they never did a crossover with the Rescuers), Tale Spin, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Gargoyles, Recess, Pepper Ann.
As a fan who grew up with this series and as someone who followed closely to the new comic series when it came out along with being part of a forum who actually got a few clarifications by someone who worked hard to revive this series in comic form, Aaron Sparrow (to be precise) He was removed from the credits of the opening 4 part story arc. Ian Brill cannot write for Darkwing Duck and misses the point of what made the show great. While he wanted to send epic mega adventure one after the other, he ignored one of the biggest things that made Darkwing Unique: _"Super powers do not a hero make" - Darkwing Duck._ He threw Darkwing up against things like Cthulhu, multiple dimensions where several different Darkwings wreaked havoc, (actually that would have been good, but then on part 4 they went too damn far by throwing in Paddy Whack and had him say to Negaduck "There is much fear in you." - which is bull, because Negaduck doesn't fear that clown, nor anything Darkwing has thrown at him. We NEVER see Negaduck grovel. If someone says, "Look! it's a Fuzzy Wuzzy bunny!" He would pull out a shotgun and start firing blindly to kill it. (That is NOT an exaggeration see episode "Just Us Justice Ducks" part 1) Brill would try to cram so much into something that should be fun and simple. Bulba coming back was awesome, but that's about it. The Ducktales cross over was a mess too. Even at the end. Negaduck merges with EVERY VILLAIN! and then what does defeat him? Not an epic battle. Darkwing just tells him. "You don't let yourself have any friends!" WTF was that?! Negaduck doesn't care about that. He doesn't need it. He rules with brute force, cunning schemes and fear. Also the comic relied too much on magic. Having Morgana in it was great, but it was always magic that would solve the problems, not Darkwing's insane dumb luck or clever wit. It was a mess. The only thing good about it aside from the first arc was seeing the brief return of Darkwarrior Duck, (which was awesome and needed to be longer imo) and the introduction of Quiverwing Duck, who was like Darkwarrior, but went down a more sane, reasonable route, and he reminded me of Hawkeye a bit. The other thing that was great about the comic was the art. James Silvani is an amazing artist and captures them all perfectly. Sabrine also did great work in the special edition which featured Quackerjack and a Time traveling turtle. James' easter eggs were always fun to point out, and it made up for some of the crappy writing. BOOM! Studios could not handle the Darkwing Duck comic properly. And the episode "Comic Book Capers" is a great comparison to what happened with this comic series as a whole. Long comment, I know, but It gives a decent insight into what happened, where it missed, where is worked and that we deserved better, which a reboot series did happen, and it was a lot better. Aaron Sparrow and James Silvani work together brilliantly. THEY can handle a proper DWD reboot.
Finally, a Patreon episode about something I'm actually interested in. If people are going to bizarrely keep insisting Linkara read non-sucky comics, at least those comics can be about Darkwing Duck.

My childhood was kind of half-Disney, half WB -- I loved a bunch of the classic Disney Renaissance movies, but the cartoon I most remember watching was Animaniacs. I was also a fan of Darkwing, though! I remember Liquidator's intro episode the best. And this was a good little adventure -- very much in keeping with the spirit of the show, and with an interesting storyline that actually gives the characters some depth and shows WHY Darkwing might actually hang up the suit.
(I'm surprised Escaflowne was on FOX kids, never caught it there though.)
*Disney Afternoon/One Saturday Morning*: mostly watched Rescue Rangers (Surprised they never did a crossover with the Rescuers), Tale Spin, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Gargoyles, Recess, Pepper Ann.
I loved watching Darkwing Duck everyday it came on such a great series. Glad to see someone made a awesome comic series based on it.
This is an underrated show.
Glad this was uploaded on my birthday
I do wish Erod had been in on this but still very good episode
I was kind of shocked we didn't even get a camei
I don’t see why he would be here
ilopominecrafter he’s a a huge DW fan
As a fan who grew up with this series and as someone who followed closely to the new comic series when it came out along with being part of a forum who actually got a few clarifications by someone who worked hard to revive this series in comic form, Aaron Sparrow (to be precise) He was removed from the credits of the opening 4 part story arc. Ian Brill cannot write for Darkwing Duck and misses the point of what made the show great. While he wanted to send epic mega adventure one after the other, he ignored one of the biggest things that made Darkwing Unique: _"Super powers do not a hero make" - Darkwing Duck._
He threw Darkwing up against things like Cthulhu, multiple dimensions where several different Darkwings wreaked havoc, (actually that would have been good, but then on part 4 they went too damn far by throwing in Paddy Whack and had him say to Negaduck "There is much fear in you." - which is bull, because Negaduck doesn't fear that clown, nor anything Darkwing has thrown at him. We NEVER see Negaduck grovel. If someone says, "Look! it's a Fuzzy Wuzzy bunny!" He would pull out a shotgun and start firing blindly to kill it. (That is NOT an exaggeration see episode "Just Us Justice Ducks" part 1)
Brill would try to cram so much into something that should be fun and simple. Bulba coming back was awesome, but that's about it. The Ducktales cross over was a mess too. Even at the end. Negaduck merges with EVERY VILLAIN! and then what does defeat him? Not an epic battle. Darkwing just tells him. "You don't let yourself have any friends!"
WTF was that?!
You made my day dude. Seriously
8:20 - It really is uncanny how good you are at that voice.
19:25 im pretty sure that's disney's new slogan
I friggin luv u. Darkwing duck is my fav show of all time.
So what did you think of the Disney's the Sword in the Stone then? Figured as an Arthurian aficionado you would've at least watched that.
28:07 So is this the map of the Marvel Multiverse or the Tommy Westphall Crossover-verse (Crossover-verse and Tommy Westphall Universe)? You make the call!
6:58 Ha, Nice DW voice!
I am very happy to say I already own the trade collecting these four issues. So worth the money.
DARKWING DUCK 2...1...Risiko! sorry nostalgia took over
great episode as always~
“In reality its drugs.” Great joke.

Does...Does Linkara collect Marvel Legends?
Also love that reference~
I don't, but my brother does. XD
Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall Radical.
Love collecting these figures too!
And Gosalyn getting to kick butt in the Gizmoduck gear is pretty awesome. :) Hooray for good comics!
24:50 Dude, *when* did you write this? There's actually a good chance you're gonna be right about that!
He’s gonna end up in a dangerous comic book,
Well we can handle it,
LET’S GET DANGEROUS!
I hope someone put something from Hellboy, because i want to know what Linkara think about Mignola comics and his artwork
he could since the reboot is coming out this year
oh my god Linkara made me remember the Mighty Max cartoon. And also how it 'ended'
Smokeweed D Bear oh I liked the show.
@@srstriker6420 Me too!
Mitch Fletcher oh, thanks
How’d it end?
+Michael Rhett Max gets sent back in time to when he first received the Cosmic Cap. He retains all his memories and vows to use his future knowledge to ensure a better outcome, saying "this time around I'm really gonna kick some Skullmaster butt!"
I wanna see you review the other storylines in this series.
