That story explains why this generation is okay with AI. As a musician, I can't understand how anyone can listen to fake instruments, autotuned vocals, songs written by someone only to be sung by someone else, AI actors, etc. Creating an illusion is one thing, but removing the humanity from art completely sucks the life and soul from it. I used to sit on the floor as a little girl listening to different musicians from Billy Joel and Elton John to Deep Purple and Led Zepplin. Sometimes I would cry. When I heard Jimmy Page play Bron-Yr-Aur, I sobbed. I could not believe how beautiful that was. Now, everything is predictable and souless. I don't feel anything anymore. There is no breath, no screech from fingers running along the fret board, no emotionally uneven vibrato in a voice full of pain. Nothing. Boring. Dead. I wish I knew what he meant about what was so awesome. To me, the girl doesn’t even realize she's essentially living in the mayrix right now and she's cool with it.

I think he meant that it blew him away, as he has never thought about it like that. He obviously resonated with Neo, and this girl saying that subverted what he himself thought. But, as a young girl, she is inexperienced with what negative connotations the lie can bring upon a psyche over a longer period. If as an adult she still felt like that, then she would fight for the system that imprisons her, as the lie is more beautiful than the fight after the lie has been exposed. Not everybody is ready for that, even if you are. These are the most dangerous people. The sheep who will build the fences back around them and scream terror at the vastness of true freedom.

Keanu is THE most likeable person on earth. I would LOVE to meet him.
She doesn’t care because she’s not old enough in the sense she’s not mature enough or wise enough to understand her answer cause she doesn’t fully grasp the meaning of what he told her. While her answer is prolific for its sheer simplicity, it sums up our existence as a human species. And so Keanu is blown away by that answer, and while rightfully so, it’s just a coincidence that it came from the perspective of a child.
I don't think y'all really get it why he is awestruck with that response. What she really pondered upon accidentally is the alternate view on the Matrix. Why does the real world really even matter ? If we ever woke up just to build a real world like the Matrix, is it even really worth waking up and going through all the hassle ? Do you really have a problem with the Matrix ? Or is it just because it's cool ? Were the main characters fools to venture out in the first place ?

I had a lecturer say he had a student who didn't do very well in inclass role plays and simulations, and when asked the student said, who cares it's not real. the classroom is not the real world. The lecturer said everything that was happening in the class was real, and had real world consequences, as in grades, how other classmates perceive the student etc. The simulation was real while you were in it. And it was to prepare/train you for when it happened outside the simulation because humans need a reference piont of experience to deal with every situation they are in.
This was when universities still taught critical thinking and a year before Matrix came out.
For kids and GenZ and beyond the virtual world is the real, and more important than the real world.

I never asked one question he wanted to know everything about training and about me and what I was going through. Mind you I had been in service only four months at that time and about to go to Fallujah Iraq 2003. Most thoughtful kind person I ever had the pleasure of speaking to. He also told me that, “Storm of the Century” was based on a true story…
