What makes TJ so strong an artist is his genuine being. TJ takes this tune, uses it as a base, & says “I’m Tom Jones. Here’s my take of a great song by Prince”! Damn, the result is “vitality” incarnate. It’s a thrill ride! Very nice work, Art Of Noise. Y’all did a RESPECTABLE job w/a tough task. I LOVE “KISS” (both versions). Kudos, folks! 👍

In an interview I heard last week he recorded the vocals for this song in LA the day before he went in for throat surgery and he said that he just sung natural rather than using the full force of his voice and that it worked perfectly for this song.
Prince was not a saint, he was a very difficult man to deal with, he had his ego above the clouds and thought that he could do whatever he wanted until one day a bad drug addiction took him to his grave.

I worked in a hotel on the Gold Coast, Australia. He'd done a show in Brisbane (our states capital city). I had the pleasure of meeting him and his CONSIDERABLE entourage. Escorted him to the penthouse room. Only after his 9 foot high body guard checked out EVERYTHING first. Including insisting on the names and details of EVERYONE two floors below him. I got a fax (early 90s) from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre breaking down how much he'd got for the night, fees deducted, where the money was transferred (ALL over the place...accounts in lots of countries and into Gold everywhere 😱) Couple of hundred K, for ONE night show He's WEALTHY my friends.
