Y'all this shit is worth buying, you get an INSANE amount of content
You guys should be careful if you're playing on steam, it's susceptible to RCE exploits. It's better to play it with the t7 community patch.
When you’re doing a revive the Dude reviving if you switch weapons you can shoot
Also you can revive someone in beast mode and you'll be invincible until their revived
there is a classic gum u unlock at max level which will give u ammo per 10 points you earn. U won’t gain points but u will get a load of ammo for your wonder weapons by using it
Honestly I'm so happy this series is paying off for you guys, from a pretty big gamble you guys have gotten to stretch creatively, editing here is amazing and you really craft a great narrative thread in your own style. Keep being awesome
28:20 I'm 99% sure if you stare at that exact light with a scope you get a jumpscare and Joe was a few mouse movements off 😭 I would have loved to see that
It's not that light, it's one further back. Looks like the front of a cargo ship
@@SimonPetrikov12 no it’s one of the windows in the buildings
For the guys saying stuff like "How could they not like shadows?!"
SoE had a pretty mixed reputation for a while until its twilight years wbere it was beloved with all the time people had to mess around with it. Its a tough map for a casual people just coming in trying to do all the stuff it has.
Yeah I also noticed that for a lot of people in the community, the adoration for the map came once BO3 had finished its DLC season and people had gone back and grown a better appreciation for the map. I know I stayed away from Shadows for a full year before coming back and enjoying it
I personally never hated shadows. I just found it really hard to play at first.
I personally never hated Shadows. I simply "got gud". There are definitely better casual maps, but if people stuck with SOE I think they would have enjoyed it sooner (Even before the quality-of-life changes)
Casuals just hate complicated maps, kino is the ideal zombies experience for them which is fine different people like different things
@@leftistdegeneratejs Yeah the game mode itself is punishing enough that when you are trying to either learn or remember how to do multiple things it starts becoming annoying instead of challenging.
If you haven't tried it yet, there is a super fast way of moving in this game:
Slide, jump out of the slide and directly land into the next slide -> infinite super fast movement
Edit: I wrote this while watching and yes, they mentioned it later. My bad
Takes some figuring out, but one you do, it's really easy
One of the patrons explained that in the video
@@InsertedFeelsit's muscle memory for me I don't even need to be playing the game to do the motions on the controller
Guessing you didn’t watch the video
@@J..820 I mean the video is 3 hours long lmao
In all seriousness, these maps each have their own flair and personality. For those of us that grew up playing them as they came out, they each have a spot in our hearts. THEYRE NOT THE SAME!!😂
Yes absolutely but to be fair, we all started to get sick of the big long upgraded quest for 1 out of 4 elemental wonder weapon's
@@jonaswest6993 also the whole “you can do the Easter egg just by playing the map!” Isn’t as cool as everyone praised it to be. At that point it’s not really an Easter egg anymore, and I actually would prefer bo cold wars system where they literally give you objective markers.
@@JamesTheEpicGamerI really dislike how the Easter eggs are called that instead of zombie campaigns or something because it's way too large for them to be "Easter eggs" anymore.
@@SubNaturalZTo be fair treyarch uses the term secrets and main quest 99% of the time.
Boys we finally made it to bo3
"The gobblegum are not as powerful as i expected."
Meanwhile Perka, Power Vac, Near Death, Round Robbin, Shopping Free, Reign, Self Med, Immolation and Alchemical Antithesis: "Yall hear sumn?"
(These are the broken ones IMO, there are definitely a lot of other strong ones)
Seeing the shopping free be wasted on essentially 2 doors and a single box spin… that hurt
@@Johnny0nFirelmfao for real tho.
I’m only 30 minutes in, but crazy to see how y’all are going through Shadows and how y’all break down the map compared to the first videos in this series. Love to see how y’all have changed as gamers through this series

@@samninjago8216its clear you haven't played, its arguably the greatest of all time and easily a top 5.
@@elmessinaldo ok but i have never had fun on the map ever i have had more fun on tranzit like its that bad
Honestly, Shadows having elements that are reminiscent of other maps is part of why I love it so much. It takes some of the elements from other great maps and gives them a new sort of flare, while still having enough of its own unique attributes to where it can stand on its own without being called a knock off
I personally think its may more exciting booting up a zombies map and having no idea how anything is going to work, rather than just a change of flavour.
Plus the speedrun strats are nuts for it, my personal favourite is Zetsubou
@@defendthehouseyou should get that experience more on zetsubou or De. De is similar to origins tho so be ready to suffer
Yeah, I was explaining to them right at the end of the recording session after the end of the run that BO3 is more so all the stuff they've done in the previous zombies games fine-tuned and honed in to perfection, which I think is why it's many people's favorite, and I said that if they're looking forward to more completely different stuff, that I reckon they'll probably actually like BO4 since they definitely switch things up and experiment a lot more in that one.
@@defendthehouse That is because, as you have always claimed, you are not a zombies player, but merely a zombies 'tourist'.
theres only so many gameplay options you can do with a call of duty format, so while I agree the concepts are similar, its still got its own theme and specific changes that make it more original feeling. basically the game is trying to be familiar for casual players (which are the overwhelming majority of players) and to dedicated players, which I think it accomplishes fairly well
It’s one complaint I don’t really get. The og maps are very similar to each other. When verruckt introduced perks, and then perks were a part of every map, no one was complaining about reused ideas. But when something like “a soul box” or “getting the wonder weapon in a unique way other than the mystery box” is used more than once, it’s a a lazy retread “force awakens” type thing.
Maps like Mob and Origins really peaked and were huge changes and improvements to the forumula, but there’s only so much they could do to improve from that peak, and I don’t see that as a negative at all. Mob and Origins are peak so more of that is a good thing.
@mistermoose-2926 right I would rather have some re-used ideas and have them feel a little unoriginal than for them to scrap everything and make something completely new and different, then we get stuff like vanguard.
@@jonrice3967 “reusing” ideas also allows them to be refined and sometimes even twisted in a different ways. It simply impossible for every map to introduce a bunch of brand new AND actually good mechanics. I believe bo2 to bo3 is where we hit that wall but thats why bo3 is the most popular and most liked iteration.
If you’ve watched the new der eisendrache video it seems Joe and Jamison have sort of come around on bo3 and they seemingly just disliked Shadows which to be fair it was pretty controversial back when bo3 launched.
@@mistermoose-2926Yeah as you said, I don't see why reusing some ideas gets a pass, but others returning with new variations is seen as a negative.

Jamison: is fucking dying
I lost my uncle about two years ago due to drug use.
It was a Tuesday, but, just the Thursday before I remember us playing SoE (Shadows of Evil) in the living room. I had the best time I think I ever had with him, now that I’m thinking about it. We were just playing casually, but got to the highest round we ever got together, 34. I remember the time fondly, even though it was just before we lost him. I haven’t played Shadows in a long time now, but looking at this made me smile. Thank you guys.
Rest in peace to him man, those are precious memories
Highest round i got playing with my uncle was also 34 but on WAW Der Riese, good memories man, i hope you are well.
3 hours of my favourite series on UA-cam… thank you Joe you massive MadLad 🙏
I've been a zombies player for over 5 or 6 years now, I have thousands of hours in the game. But watching you guys play it makes it all fresh and new again to me. The enjoyment and your commentary, especially about doctor Monti's f*** book. You guys are amazing. Keep up the good work.
This map is objectively the best one ever. Dont care what anyone says. Its just oozing with personality and life. So much content as well. Its so great.
tranzit has alot of personailty too, and its shit. I think shadows is a great map but saying objectively and then saying "personality and life" just doesnt make sense
@@dripp_dropp objectively I believe shadows is the map that treyarch put the most amount of time and effort into it. And you can feel that through the map, through the personality it has. Shadows has fantastic ear catching music, amazing color, a boss that is not super challenging nor easy to kill but it's not just a bullet sponge either. The only negative of the map is the Easter egg not being single player. Some people don't like the pack a punch quest but honestly you really get into a routine for it and optimizing it and I find that really fun. Your argument is basically just "well what you said is subjective" maybe, but it is objective that treyarch put everything they had into this map. Shadows is Treyarch's baby. The map had a Friggin amusement park ride, Doritos commercials specifically for zombies. Shadows was their biggest and best map ever.
I would definitely recommend ALWAYS getting Double Tap 2.0 right after Jug since it doubles damage for bullet weapons. It's a crutch perk in BO2 and BO3.
Shadows is a map I used to really hate back when it first came out (like most casual players), but as time's gone on I'd probably call it one of the best maps easily. I get why it'd be less exciting when you're playing every map in succession for the first time, with it reusing and twisting elements from older maps (mainly Mob and Origins of course), but I see Shadows as more of a refinement of those ideas and as a way to cement the new style of zombies map.
Of course, it still sets itself apart anyway with the whole theme, style, new enemies, and the new features this map brought with it, so I've never really seen the similarities to older maps as an issue. Tbh I never even really correlated the ritual system to the Origins gramophone before because, despite their similarities, it feels very different, at least to me. If it ain't broke, after all.
Its the worst map in black ops 3 by far
@@norwegianmaster744 I can get that, as I said I used to think that too back when I was more into the simpler maps over the complex ones. I've also grown to love the aesthetics and theme, it plays a more important role in map enjoyment than I realised until the past couple years.
This map was more style than substance imo, and the style is a combo of origins and mob of the dead. Ill admit I am a casual and the map is lovingly made and that part really bleeds through.
@@norwegianmaster744no way is it worse than rev
@@dripp_dropp Rev is THE casual map of BO3 I think. Some could say DE, but that's more because it's an everyman's map. Sure Rev fails in terms of ee and story (I could also say challenge but zombies isn't difficult when you know how to play it let's be honest), but it's just simply a really fun sandbox to play around in.
This series is by far my favorite thing on UA-cam, the editing style and composition of these chapters is impressive.
It's like an event for me every time a chapter comes out, so it's only fair to throw support for it on Patreon!
I hope this series goes all the way, keep it up Joe and Jamison!
Supported you guys because this series has been great to see evolve. Absolutely love the fact that its zombies played by casual zombie fans. You guys are amazing
Gotta say, the twist in the story with why u were commenting "there are not cutscenes in bo3" (I made it into that part of the video!) Was super entertaining. Great job!
YOOOOO I WAS JUST ABOUT TO HOP ON AND PLAY SOME SHADOWS NAHH GOT OTHER PLANS NOW
Im coming back to edit this comment a while later because Im just now realising how incredible this is. I was about to play a game, but when presented with the oppurtunity to watch you guys play it instead, that seemed more enjoyable. You guys discovering these maps for the first time and seeing your reactions to it all is that interesting to watch. Keep it up, the effort that goes into these is insane!
It's a shame theater mode died.
During BO3's life cycle, it worked fine, but one day, it just broke, and Treyarch never went back to fix it.
The same happened with BO4 theater mode, but with that one, it already didn't work too great to begin with.
People love BO3 BECAUSE it takes the best of the previous games and expands on them and adds even more things. The connection you made with shadows being similar to mob and origins is kinda the reason why people love that map. You've basically just said "im disappointed that it's a mix between 2 of the greatest maps of all time"
Yeah that is what I'm saying.
@defendthehouse if its any consolation, I didnt like shadows when it first dropped (thought it was too complicated, etc.). I dont know if you've played the next map yet, but people say it's the best map of all time. It's not as complex as shadows, but it has a charm about it
@@defendthehouseTreyarch perfected their craft with this game, and Jason Blundell who made MOTD and Origina headlined this entire game for zombies. He took all of the fan-favorite aspects of previous gems and utilized those strengths to expand into this game. Just like bo1 did with WaW, and just like bo2 with bo1. You’ll appreciate these maps more when you get to Bo4 given the chaos that was 90% of the maps in that game. Just like the rest of us.
@@defendthehouse bo3 is loved for good mechanics and basically perfecting the system they already had (which I agree it does pretty much mean it just reskins a lot of previous ideas that worked well) also it's popular cuz of zombie chronicles which we know you won't be playing...
As much as everyone hates on bo4 I think you'll have a love/hate relationship with it, it's very complex and some of the Easter eggs are very good but I do admit once you've done it once you will never wanna play bo4 again 😂
Idk if I commented this on another one of your vids already. But this series is what introduced me to your channel, but it's not the reason I'm staying. You guys just have such a refreshing style and consistent energy that makes each video a joy to watch. Keep on keeping on, man.
You don't know how happy this series makes me. It's always a long wait between videos but it is so, so, so worth it. See you in three hours!
The reason why there is a "lot of work" to get things in this game is because the playerbase at the time had been playing zombies for years and the developers wanted to add things so that players always had something they could be working towards since plainly running around and spinning the box was getting old. You can spend a decent amount of time where you're working towards pack a punch, the swords, the civil protector instead of just shooting zombies.
People also like optimising runs to get these things as early as possible.
I know some people like it, but I just think it’s too complicated. I think it’s valid to not like a map because basic things like PAP are too annoying to get.
the problem is that they should have kept the non dlc map that most casuals will play simple, (like atleast pap should be much simpler) and they could have put more complicated stuff in the other maps, the giant could have been a good first map but it was pre order access only I believe?
@@randompillow5146well, not everything is required to do. If you don’t like doing that stuff, simply don’t. PaP itself is really all you need to play the game cuz that’s all that was their in prior games. PaP is really not that hard on this map.
I’d love it if Reginald was the one behind this whole story all along, manipulating everything behind the scenes. It would be such a hilarious plot twist. I mean, who would ever expect the frail, old man? Haha
The odds between spinning 1-3 vats in Dr Monty's factory for different rarity's are about the same, but spinning 1 vats at a time helps your Liquid Divinium stretch farther as you can get power boosts
Also I believe if you roll 1 and get a X2 you get 2 random gobblegums instead of 1
If you rolled 2 and got a X2 and a carpenter you'd just get 2 carpenters
3 minutes in and 'Dr. Monkey's Fuckbook' has me SOBBING
Holy shit, the commitment to the bit of making the top of the book say “Dr. Monkey’s Fuck Book” omg
Sometimes it seems like you guys don’t even like this mode lmao. Love the series and channel and I hope you guys can see the depth that bo3 zombies has. It may be similar on the surface but it’s so unique in so many ways once you get into all the mechanics working together. Keep up the great content!
Yea not gonna lie it does hurt to see their opinions and takes but I did expect it with shadows considering it was always known for not being liked by casual/first time players. But there entitled to it even if it makes me a bit sad to see they don't see what I see. But personally as a big story fan I'm just saddened more so by the disregard for the story tbh lol. But I hope they have fun later but based on their shadows feed back I have a feeling that I know what some of their comments on DE. Will be considering it rips the dog heads from MoB and the Origins format.😅
Just because they don't praise it as much as the community does, which is overblown, doesn't mean they don't like it.
They just don't like it AS MUCH as the community, who likes it TOO MUCH imo.
@@Sweetdude64 They did say they disliked the Easter egg and overall didn't like shadows of evil which is considered to be an S tier map in the community, and in fact they seem like they might not like future maps for similar reasons.
That's not to say there not having fun though, I'm sure they are. But at the same time they've also said themselves that they probably won't play zombies after there journey is done. Which is fine but obviously is can be a bit upsetting as a zombie fan that they don't like it.
Lastly why is bo3 live overblown that's a strange statement that I Completely disagree.
@@RaNgErs_Rep yea fair enough.
But just because they won't play it after doesn't mean they don't like it. Think about how many movies you like that you've only seen once?
And bo3 has a god tier amount of hype as if it can do no wrong, when it has faults just like anything else. These 2 are clearly pinpointing those flaws in the maps production
@@Sweetdude64 There flaws to them but to others their staples re using some mechanics is fine when they add on to them. I have no doubt that there having some fun. Also to add on I'm pretty sure there's a part in exploration where the say their dissapointed. B03 does have small problems but there so miniscule that people can say B03 zombies does no wrong.
Edit:Basically if they dislike the re use of mechanics man they are gonna be dissapointed by every treyarch game and map forward, as they all have mechanics that they refurbished or reused.
Let's go! Always get hyped when a new zombies video gets released
Honestly one of the best series I've watched for Cod zombies. I think they'll like Der Eisendraches easter egg better
Depends if they’ll be able to get past the reused ideas with the bows, dragons, and panzer. Easter egg is definitely a big improvement over SOE
i never really thought how complicated the gobblegum system is untill i watch u guys
I know other people are gonna want to join for the Easter eggs but I think Gustav should run the other bo3 eggs with u guys. He was definitely helpful and had a good presence in the video too
Damn Gustav gets the vote over me. He was great tho loved playing with them
Well thank you, glad I was a good addition to the video, but nah, even if that was an option I'd prefer to let other people have their shot at getting a spot in the BO3 EEs, tons of people want to participate in these ones, as you'd expect. Who knows though, once BO4 and Cold War come around, maybe I'll get lucky and pop up again in one of those EEs :)
Also yeah, can confirm that GamingPotato was the real expert here, I appreciate Joe giving us equal credit as experts, but Potato was the one who REALLY knew what was going on and was definitely more of a leader. I'm knowledgeable about BO3 zombies for sure, but not nearly to the extent he is, haha.
2:10:00 Him killing himself with the raygun and not knowing is still fun to this day.
Just finished shangrila easter egg with a feiend after 4 days of pain so i was in a good mood and then i saw this video came out, my excitement can't be discribed, thank you patreons for keeping this series up and thanks for Joe and Jamison for making amazing content ❤
YEYEYE. I love this series. It's been amazing seeing you guys experience these maps for the first time.
oh man im so hyped everytime a new part of this series comes out. much love for staying at it
We all hated shadows when we first played it. It's a lot of info with too many tentacles. It takes time and Zetsubou to realize what shadows really is.
59:07 If you look at the upper left, the editor actually put "Dr Monkey's Fuck Book" at the page, and not gonna lie, I laughed harder than I should at that attention to detail.
“gobble gums aren’t powerful”- defend the house 2023
The most infuriating yet entertaining watch 😂
Always focus on getting the basics on these maps first and foremost like opening pack-a-punch, eventual wonder weapon steps on the way. In most maps you'll find these things almost flowing into each other kinda like the progression of different things synergizes. Of course for us nerds who have played since we were fetuses, we have the patterns so deeply engraved that we'll subconsciously minmax everything and see how to effectivize steps.
I'm only half-way through thw video now so likely you guys have already figured it out, but good habits to remember for most zombies maps.
Also, hope you guys figure out weapon leveling and attachments by the end of it. Get a dot sight or something for that Drakon bois!
Edit: Pharo is indeed trash 😂
Edit 2: Jameson learnt to rely on wall-guns I'm so proud
Edit 3: Ggs to Gus and Potato, Potato did amazing sherpa work!
Also friends, I have a feeling they aren’t going to like BO3 as much as we do. For people who just started playing zombies a year ago, this game is a big leap in map size and amount of content in each map as well as setup. Definitely gonna be overwhelming
Ye, I did hope they'd be more eased into it by doing actively all the maps in sequence but I suppose that was wishful thinking. Will try to have fun with it though and try not to want to stop watching. >.
im so glad you stuck with this series this far. everytime i see a new chapter pop up in my feed i get so hyped.
The Haymaker slander was unacceptable
The editing of each new episode outdoing the previous installment is nothing short of impressive. These videos feel more like cinematic events
Can't wait for this, thank you guys for working on this series for so long
This series genuinely has just been getting better and better with each new episode genuinely always a lovely treat to just relax and see you guys play these maps for the first time
Also you guys from your early videos to this one have made major strides in figuring things out on your own its wild what a year can do lol
I've been playing since WaW, and you guys have already accomplished FAR more that I have [I've done up to moons easter egg and that's it lol]
It's also funny seeing you two figure out the broken perk bottles on your second game when it took me like 5 years to realize on one of my most played zombies games
You guys are the most entertaining pair of gamers to watch. I have so much respect for the both of you going in blind
Agreed, going in blind has it's perks. Helps to show veterans and other newcomers what the experience is like for someone not doing the research.

Bad and unoriginal map
@@El_Soy bad and unoriginal opinion
Well to be fair at the beginning of BO3's lifecycle, people really did not like shadows. Its only after people learned the map did people start enjoying it.
@@madg510I was one of those people. I played shadows once and hated it so I just played The Giant for a few months until Der Eisendeache came out. It was only after I did my first EE ever on DE when I decided to revisit shadows of evil and I’m so glad I did. Probably my favorite bo3 map.
Really loving the increased production quality of these vids keep up the good work lads
Yes Shadows of Evil is an actual sequel to mob
i can see why you guys dont like shadows, its for sure one of the most overwhelming maps for newer players. i didnt like it very much either and just stayed on the giant until der eisen released. as i got better at the game i began appreciating shadows more and more until eventually it became one of my favorites.
for us that played the zombies modes as they released, bo3 was the greatest repository of content we (or at least i) could have ever hoped for, from the easter egg hunts to the theorycrafting to the high round runs, it was an amazing couple of years. coming back to it as a new player in 2023 with all the information right there on the wiki can definitely desensitize you to the magic that bo3 had.
also, i dont wanna tell you guys theres a right way to play these games, but another factor that could be making it hard for you to enjoy shadows is how fast you guys are moving through the maps. you only see them a few times over the course of a couple of weeks, do the easter egg once, then move on to the next one. im pretty sure you ended up seeing everything the map has to offer in like 2-4 days in this one. i know you guys have to move fast like this to avoid having one chapter per 3 months or so, and im not saying to go slower, just giving a reason why you might not appreciate it as much as us diehard zombie sweats who played every map over and over and over while waiting for the next map to release.
anyways, im just rambling at this point. great video, keep doing what you guys enjoy doing and dont listen to anyone telling you otherwise.
y’all r either gonna hate or love bo4 so much and i cant wait to see which. Tho i think y’all will enjoy the dlc besides alpha omega
I'm willing to bet they're going to be confused with the Chaos storyline if they don't start with Dead of the Night
They been complaining more towards the Blundell maps, they're most likely gonna complain and hate how complicated and broken BO4 is on PC since they never fixed some bugs on PC since Treyarch took the rest of Activision Shanghai to help them fix Cold War. Which BTW they should be thanks For Fixing most of Bo4 (especially on Consoles) and maintaining the servers since Treyarch abandoned the game after Acient Evil
I get excited like a little kid when I see a new video of the series in my inbox, have to drop everything an watch it, thank you so much guys
Great to see the production is back to a higher quality! (Not that it was bad before; it was just disappointing when a lot was cut from the videos.)

I was hoping he would play the opening cutscene and get so embarrassed and confused. You probably could have made a Reginald skit out of it.
This format is so good. Great video lads!
Honestly feels like a time capsule from back before the entire gaming industry fell apart.
The Keepers are like cousins or brethren to the Apothicons, examples of Apothicons include but are not limited to: the Margwas, Lil Arnies, Apothicon Servant, the giant squid in the sky on Shadows, the Shadowman, etc.
i like the loadouts/gobblegum segments way more than the reginals bits
I’m surprised you guys didn’t like Shadows as much as the entire community adores it. Even though when it first came out it was considered controversial with the heavy Cthulhu inspiration and level of difficulty for a starter map, but after getting used to it it’s in everyone’s Top 5 List of Maps for sure. It's especially impressive that this came out right after Mob of the Dead, Buried, and Origins, an amazing perfect streak of "Top 5 level" very high-quality S-Tier maps.
Thank you for the upload! This is about to get me through the rest of the work day.
In the storyline, the giant comes after shadows of evil in the storyline because Richthofen stoled the summoning key from morgue City in shadows of evil and then get to the Giant
Shadows is my favorite map of all time but I have a lot of experience and know all the beast mode tricks, but I can remember starting with this map in bo3 and it was a lot, if the game didn’t launch with the giant to it would have been trouble, the mix of simplicity and complexity was nice
Got a good chuckle out of the Bloodborne soundtrack playing when y'all encountered thr Margwa. Especially Ludwig's theme lol.
I also had to laugh when you were annoyed thinking the purple pods were RNG, and then annoyed when they weren't RNG. Like, do you hate RNG or not? lmao
Damn the production quality of this series has gone through the roof. This is like a 3 hours movie I'd pay money for to watch if it was in theaters.
This was also the best exploration part you had in this series so far imo.
And btw I'd also recommend to not necessarily assign a feature to a certain map. You'll see that different versions of minibosses, Monkey Bombs, wonder weapons, special abilitys and stuff like that are kind of a recurring thing from now on and while yes, they kind of originate from BO2 they're now part of what makes zombies zombies. Seeing all of these things as reskins from Mob of the Dead or Origins will probably make you enjoy them less, perhaps view them more as something like PaP, like something that zombies wouldn't be complete without.
From now on it's more the maps original style, special features, Easter Eggs and so on which will make every map unique.
Also damn you Reginald from keeping all these beautiful cutscenes to yourself.
The rituals are nothing like the gramophone. You guys have some weird takes but I respect it.
Once again I'm only here to say I love this series so much
The best series on UA-cam is BACK!
With how much they compare to Origins and Mob… oh boy are they gonna be upset with Der Eisendrache… but then Zetsubou, Gorod, and Revelations they will love
If there's gunna be a little story arch every now and then with Reginald then I am all for it. Love it! like a mini simpsons episode running in the back of the video, keeps me entertained among the easter egg completions
Epic time, can’t wait for LASO either 🥺🥺
AND THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for adding a name tag for the footage. I’m sure it’s tedious as fuck but fairly nice to have.
It was really nice in the LASO video
Oh you sneaky boy! The "NO" at 2:11:36 was incredible! Very subtle!
I feel like they were really stretching some of these comparisons, some are fair such as comparing the beast to Afterlife and the fumigator to origins digging. Though I will point out both these systems have significant differences.
The beast is similar to Afterlife, but the mechanic is different in so many ways.
It doesn't act as an extra life, you don't have to revive yourself, you can revive others, and only the shock mechanic is really similar. The beast has melee's and grapples which make it significantly different than afterlife in practice.
The fumigator sites have a rarity system, which encourages you to hold out on digging them for greater rewards.
Some of the comparisons were just stretches though.
The rituals aren't similar to the gramophone at all. It's a lockdown, if anything it's similar to origins' generators, but different in that the area is bigger but can't be left. It also only has to be done once unlike origins where the gens can turn off. And most importantly, the margwa will spawn after two of them. The panzer never spawns after the generators, which certainly makes a difference in gameplay.
Speaking of the Margwa, it's a totally unique boss zombie. Unlike anything before, it's completely Invincible other than its weak spots. To balance this, it has no ranged or aoe attacks like the Panzer.
There's the apothicons which they compared to buried ghosts, and the similarity really doesn't go beyond that they float visually. If anything, apothicons are closer to Templar zombies, but while Templar are just temporary zombies, apothicons have differences in moving slower and having less health.
Look I know some of these comparisons were more joking than others, but point is I think their perspective of this map being unoriginal isn't very fair. They're also writing off everything new that came with Bo3 as a whole with this map since they played the giant already.
There's a starting pistol that is completely different than the 1911, and much stronger. There's the gum and and weapon attachment systems, there's sliding which completely and totally changes the movement of the game, etc.
I just don't understand why this was such an issue for them. Advanced Warfare maps are much more samey than this. Every victis map reusing turbines, banks, and a craft able wonder weapon never got any flak.
I don't know, as someone who's been binging the series this was an odd watch. Their entire mood was off from the beginning, they're normally much more enthusiastic going into maps, but they seemed already in a poor mood when they just started.
I dunno, I still really enjoyed this video and this series, I just thought they were so oddly negative here. I didn't expect them to adore the map or anything, it's just the reasons they disliked it are so strange and inconsistent with their past behavior.
its cuz shadows is bad why do u think they were sad the whole time its annoying and rehash of mob and origins and also why did u leave this 500 word comments here explaining
why its OG when its really not
f tier bait
Well story reasons, Shadows is like Mob because they are set in the same reality
Honestly shadows is a 50% 50% map for most people it’s either good or fine, not a lot of people call it bad but a lot of people do call it good or fine, I call it fine but I do understand why people enjoy it 😊
I like that there's only one wonder weapon and it's difficult to get early forcing you to actually use the guns. Origins and Der eisenrache were fun but you feel underpowered until you get the wonder weapons and then the maps to easy, it was fine at first but I can have crazy weapons on them maps within 5 rounds especially DE getting the bow for feeding less than 20 zombies to dogs is a crazy reward for the minimal effort it takes, the maps have just been optimised so much that theres no challenge. I actually prefer the 4 rayguns in alpha omega just cuz everyone can have them and it will still be a challenge to stay alive
its not a "50/50 map" everyone considers it a top 5 oat and probably the goat
really enjoyed the video, the storytime was pretty accurate. Can't wait to see Der Eisendrache, its one of my favourite Easter Eggs just the way it flows
i am beyond excited for this video! Enjoying the series alot, keep up the great work!
The majority of people only look back on this map fondly because of nostalgia and because most zombies influencers started giving it absurd amounts of praise years later and placing it in their top 5 tier lists. When this map launched and for years after it was regarded as being overly complex, unoriginal, and not feeling enough like cod zombies. Crazy what nostalgia can do
Or people just realized they’re initial comments were a little rushed? Everyone has their opinions that change over time? You can’t allow these guys to have their negative opinions but take it away from everyone else just cause some popular zombies creators also share similar opinions with a community of millions💀
@jordankuzyanov8512 it's more than coincidence that the prevailing attitudes of the community towards this map changed as soon as content creators started praising it after criticizing it for years, which by the way are still valid criticisms, those negatives haven't just gone away. It is basically just a rehash of elements from Mob and Origins, yet more tedious and complex all while not having the same character that previous games and even following BO3 maps had. Not taking away anyone's opinions, just pointing out that they only have those opinions now because it seems to be the popular opinion. I'm sure it's also easier to look back on mediocre maps like shadows with fondness when you compare it to the absolute trash fires that every zombies game after BO3 have been. It's easy for a bad map to look good when you're comparing it overall to a literal unfinished product like bo4. Also skull emojis don't prove your point any better
@@El_Soy it’s extremely hard for me to find validity in a point without you providing any actual context or evidence for it. You saying that the the community only started saying positive things about the map when these “creators” started saying positive things about it, is hearsay. I had plenty of friends and people during the game chat days that loved SOE well before this creator influence you keep mentioning.
@jordankuzyanov8512 context or evidence? You want a study to prove it or something? Anyone who paid attention to the community close to bo3's launch remembers the map having mostly poor reception from the community, and then at some point a few years later when prominent UA-camrs began praising it I also noticed average people doing the same. It's just a simple observation of the community, kinda hard to provide you a citation. You're just being defensive on this because you enjoy the map personally and that's fine, but it doesn't disprove what I said or the flaws in the map which you didn't even address
@@El_Soy “it doesn’t disprove” but it’s an unbacked statement? It doesn’t need to disprove you can’t sit here and explain that there is any correlation. I don’t need any outside validation to comfort me on my opinion of the map from back in 15’-16’ but we can’t ignore there is no actual proof or ability to say there is a correlation between the opinion of a few creators and millions of other players.
58:13 yeah they’re pretty easy to kill and to avoid but when they get ya they do heavy damage, the difficulty raises through the round by there just being more zombies and having to split your attention between one or the other but it’s not stupid dumb (like some certain exo zombies) you know they’re there and you have to play around it it feels fair when you die to it because it is your fault just like in this clip you didn’t take it seriously and boom runs over
That’s what we call good game design (which is why everyone glazes b03 because it has a lot of it)
god I laughed so hard every single time we heard a new name for the lil arnie
If you ever have 20 minutes to kill and want to get an idea why Shadows is such a beloved map I'd recommend taking a look at the solo Easter egg speedrun. This isn't true for everyone but for some of us especially die hard zombies fans that are the absolute biggest of nerds by the way a map like Shadows offers so many chances to really optimize the hell out of it. Aside from the fact that BO3 just plays great and looks and sounds amazing the super technical checklist maps are really satisfying to get really good at. For example something like opening PaP on round 1 on Shadows is something a more simple survival focused map just doesn't have a similar kind of challenge. These fan favorite maps have been around for a damn long time now and have had that same damn long time to simmer and really grow on people so I don't blame you for not really getting the insane hype for BO3 immediately off the rip. Hell I wouldn't blame you if you got to the end and still didn't get why this game is treated like the second coming.
Loved how every video is sugar-coated in skits and entertainment
I will not accept this Shadows of Evil slander
