It's short and will only take a few minutes. Every answer is greatly appreciated!
On this adventure, I headed out to go metal detecting at a new permission. The yard had lots of ground disturbance, but I was able to locate an old workshop that turned out to be a treasure trove. I sifted through all the boxes of old rusty metal, and managed to discover arrowheads, relics, and other interesting pieces of history that were long forgotten. Hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for the support!
All filming and searching was done on private property with owners permission. The old workshop is in the owners backyard, and it hasn't been used in a long time. It was apart on an old farm which dates to the 1850s. It has since then been passed down in the family.

Hey! Could Y'all please fill out this short survey on metal detecting: bit.ly/2N4JLzI Thank you so much and Enjoy the video!
Got the survey done. Is there somewhere that I can get into contact with you? I have a few questions and I feel like you would be the best person to answer them.
Done.
those tools are worth thousands of $$ man
The survey only asked for your country and state. No addresses are collected. Sorry you didn’t like it.
Just country and state are needed. No other info about location
Man I could use every single item in that workshop, very jealous. The drill press, forge blower, and crosscut saws are all worth fortunes. Not to mention all of the other stuff.
The piece that had "Model C" on it, is a part to an early Edison Phonograph reproducer for playing wax cylinders.... Nice find!
The round piece with two slots is part of an old electric cord plug. It sealed off the wire connections so you couldn’t touch them.
Obviously the blacksmith tongs, blower and drill have some value.
Good stuff. Blessed.
This reminds me of going through all the drawers and bins in my Dad's shed after he passed away. He died in 1999, and had been a mechanic, an assembler, fisherman, boat builder, and a member of Nascar (1963/64,) plus was a very good carpenter, plumber, and jack-of-all-trades. Having been born during The Great Depression, he never threw anything away. That stuff was there all my life, but I never felt comfortable going through his stuff until he'd passed and I pretty much had to. Amazed by the stuff I found! That's history, right there at your fingertips!
I hope you rescue those old forging tools...
emergentBehaviour
i want to get away with trespassing day in and day out like the nug.
Those old blacksmithing tools are worth alot to the right person. They don't make new tools like the old quality tools of years gone by.
@@emergentBehaviour did you miss what he said at 4:52?
Some of those old tools are really valuable and collectable, somebody would pay good money for them!
Conor I would
Most of those tools are worth a fortune!
@@pashahart8698 People like you help support my business :) i buy and restore tools for resale, its nice to see people still care.
I'm a carpenter, got into hand tool for Paul sellers.
That old post drill and the vise are really good finds. Some of those old tools are begging for restoration, especially the drill. Nice find!
In the old box, was not years of collecting, it was a lifetime of projects. I do the same, when I disassemble something to see what makes it tic. Or when I have a build project that does not require a certain item recovered from my lifetime inventory, or that I had found, salvaged or purchased. I place it in my box labeled, "Miscellaneous To Sort and Arrange." It is a lifetime of projects you are going through young man. Remember, every single nail, bolt, pin, screw, clamp, connector, etc. etc. was put the box, one at a time as the person thought, maybe it could be used at a later time. Wonderful looking through the old box of rusted memories with you. I hope whoever finds my box of Miscellaneous to sort and arrange, takes the same care. Greetings from an old Man in Northern Michigan. I truly enjoyed your video.
That champion forge blower at 4:00 is worth quite a lot!
The Mad Smith ...He didn't even acknowledge that blower and it's the most valuable item in the shed! The drill press is not bad either... You could fill a truck with that stuff!
@@Quickened1 I know I was drooling over those tongs xD
Yes looked like to me he was stepping over good stuff to look through garbage
@@themadsmith857 Same! Right now I am jerry rigging everything.
@@wilgabbard4404 he's a metal detector guy. He focuses on small things with value
there is alot of stuff in that little shed I could still use in my shop today. that's the kind of honey hole I dream of
Agreed, I saw a lot of blacksmithing tools.

The black disk with two rectangular holes is used on old electrical plugs to insulate over the screws so the wires and screws don't get messed up and short out. If you have an old fan or lamp with a two pin duplex conector. Sometimes they had a handle area but most old ones were just round.
Yep
What a shame that all those tools are just being left out in that old workshop to rust away. Great video. 🙂
For real you could do A lot of utube tool rebuilds.
augusta keebler Too right! 👍🏻
A little rust doesn't hurt anything! Some TLC, in the form of rust remover [where needed] and light lubricating oil, and those tools will be ready to work again!
Chris Ackerley I agree completely, but will those tools ever see that treatment...
Wow! What a wonderful find! It would be hard not to take it all home and comb through it very slowly. Lots of fun! Thanks for t asking us along.
Wow is all I can say !! I restore old tools for fun and that shop is a gold mine! Great content and God Bless.
21 thumbs down is just unacceptable for a great video such as this one.
Just finished your survey. I've been watching you for years. Your such a nice young man. Best wishes
An old blacksmith had one of those blowers set up on our courthouse square during Christmas stroll. He was putting on quite a demo. That's a gem
It looks like you might have missed an oblong part that went over the barrel and the the forearm of an old rifle ,
Loved your videos thanks mike
i'd love to go through that shed and just clean all the tools up and such
Nugget, that shop is a time capsule! I saw so many old old smithing tools! I would spend a week in there rummaging.
If that man told me I could have whatever I wanted out of that shed I'd back my truck right up to the door and find me anther strong person and first thing in would have been that drill press followed by the Blacksmith tools. Then the saw blade that was hanging on the back wall followed up with the trunk. Now those are just the things I seen that stood out to me some I'd save and use some I'd put up for sale. what I sold I spilt the money I made with the old man. Some of the stuff could bring a high price. The drill press would bring a very good price but that's one thing I'd be keeping to clean up and use then after I'm gone the boys could sell it. It would worth a lot more in 60 years than it is worth now. I'll be 120 when I pass on... I've already out lived a lot of my old friends and I'm only 60... Some of those tools my grandfather had and they were antiques when I was a kid... LOL...
There treasure everywhere if you just look for it... In fact that verse you put at the start of this video is the greatest treasure of all "LOVE" It changed the world when Jesus took our sins to the cross. those nails didn't hold HIM there it was HIS love for us that held HIM to the cross... That day Jesus died on the cross change time and dates. They went for BC to AD that day. Then 3 days latter time changed again to HE HAS RISEN love brought Jesus up out of the grave... Now that's real treasure. We have forgiveness of our sins because of LOVE... "For CHRIST first loved us"
I'm so proud of you kiddo... Much love and prayers... BBE..
AMEN to ALL of that!! Jesus is our greatest treasure! ( even though all the stuff in that shed was REALLY cool treasure!! What fantastic history!!)
Just brilliant watching you rummage in the old shed. It's weeks worth right there. Then the dirt in the floor of the place would no doubt have loads of things. Another great vid Nugget! Survey complete too.
Cool finds, nice job
You obviously are not an old tool guy! I was foaming at the mouth with the tools I saw and I'm sure there were lots more I didn't see.
Soo many antique tools worth bucks. Those old forge tools worth nice bucks, cool to have.
Metal tool box with the logo on the sides is a seller. And a keeper. Blessings
I will 100% do the survey. I honesty could not think of someone better than you to do something like that. You not only have the charisma but the integrity to put together a great source for beginners. I sure hope you go through with it and good luck.
Survey done, my good man.
I really appreciate all the support! Thank you for completing the survey! More videos coming soon!
Hey NuggetNoggin keep it up! I love watching you find treasure and futhermore the Bible verses. God is good brother!
I would have had to back the truck up to the door! All the old forging tools, blower, the saw blade, WOW! And the shed its self, how awesome to have something like that on your property! You are indeed blessed to be able to do what you do! Thank you for posting!!
I love watching your adventures. I sit in anticipation to what your going to dig up next. I also love that you include Bible Verses at the beginning and/or end of your videos. It's very uplifting to watch a video without swearing.
Love your 4 legged friends. Great finds in that shed. 👍💖
One other thought, suggestion from the old Man in North Michigan. Explore your find further, look in the rafters, look close to the foundation and under the floor boards. Look for large rocks or outhouse locations around the building. Here, you will find the secrets and the treasures of the lifetime projects. Remember, what is valuable, does not get thrown into a box of miscellaneous to sort and arrange.
Watching these videos reminds me of when I used to live with my grandfather God rest his soul. Some of the stuff I found on his farm was pretty cool like arrow heads, old coins, and old musket balls
I did your survey and I enjoyed doing it for you I hope this little adventure goes well for you and you help and educate people good on you for doing this
Please go back to this shack! So many cool old relics!
So sad to see such an interesting place with amazing tools and great history just rot away, wonderful video!
Old blacksmith shop! That bellows is probably worth something too! All of those tools are awesome! That's an amazing find!
Whoa Nugget, that little tool shop is a gift that keeps on giving! 4:48 looks like a weight used with a balance beam type of scale. I thought I saw the beam leaning in the corner by the box of bottles. The small box of assorted bits had a button hook, tool used to aid in fastening shoe buttons. All those smithing tools, that blower, the hand operated drill press...if the owner plans on discarding all that stuff offer to haul it away for him, I wish I could! ONE THING, careful of bottles found in sheds! Farmers used them to mix chemicals like pesticides and herbicides. Some are toxic and were banned long ago but can still be potent. People still find old containers of stuff like DDT in old farm sheds.
Thanks for letting us watch your video with a lot of great old relics!!! May JESUS Bless you...👍👐👍👏✋👋✌
The small end plate for a plug is what you pointed at 15:46 and at 16:01 is a UDC Emblem. ( GUnited Daughters of the Confederacy). Goods find.
the wooden peg for the insolater is harder to find and worth more than the glass part
It's actually common. $1-2 a piece. Clear Whitall-Tatum CD (Consolidated Design) 107. Would've been used for rural telephone. 1950-1980's usage.
What fantastic history in all those old tools!!!!
I filled out your survey and i don’t live in Ethiopia just made a mistake! And great finds, those tops and stuff would make great steampunk stuff or refurbished stuff into something. Keep them coming and god blessed us with you, thx
Those old blacksmithing tools are so cool looking and could still be fixed up and used
If he told me I could have anything in the shed, I would have backed up the trailer and taken the whole shed to sort through later. Great video. Sad to see those old tools just going to waste.
Filled out the survey. Thank you for making these videos. I especially love the burnt down mansion video. I got into metal detecting because of watching your videos.
Good deal, glad you filled out the survey and got into detecting
As a blacksmith, I'd love to save and use even one of those pairs of tongs, that old champion blower could be used even if it's frozen, that is an old drill press that is still usable! All I can say is Wow! Please Nug, save those tools for folks to use them again!
I filled out your survey 😊
That was fun watching you look through all the things in that shed. If you are allowed back and the owner really doesn’t want that stuff, you could always bring pails of metal scrap out with you. Sometimes the money from scrap such as this helps. 😉
That coal forge hand crank blower is worth a pretty penny. All the blacksmithing stuff is now. The post drill is actually pretty good too.
You need to rescue all of that stuff. Take it all.
That old handplane and drill is awesome !
Great video, that drill press. Would love to have that and the tools. Saw a hand plane in there as well. Sa-weeet hunt. Thanks for sharing
For someone into Blacksmithing like myself. You hit a gold mine with all those tools. Would love to have those in my shop. Great find .
Really dig you videos man. I’m new to metal detecting lately. Used to go with my old man over 25 years ago.
My husband and I would have loved those old tools! To make them like new and reusable again...
That was a great hunt and a lot of nice finds. I love old sheds. Survey done!
When I use to find an old abandoned shop like that, I loved just picking up the old tools and looking at them. Some time in the past someone made or purchased these tools, and was very happy to have them and was proud of them. He took care of them perhaps as he walk out of the shop at night he would put his hand on that drill press and marvel at the convenience of it after years of a hand drill or even maybe a brace and bit. Then he got old and could not get out to his shop to take "His" tools in his hands and admire them. Then one day he died and his tools now lay neglected, unloved and rusting away. It is sad, but it also gives me a comfortable feeling as I give them another loving touch before they are gone and try to get a feel for the man who once was so proud of them being "His."
I’ve really enjoyed your adventures. And your love for the environment. The finds and stories are entertaining as well.😎
Gotta love the arrow heads in a old box👍
I Can't Wait To See Your Upcoming Step By Step Video!! I Filled Out My Survey!!! Thank You!!!!
That shed is the mother load. The stuff is worth a lot to the right buyer. The metal working hand tools is an amazing find in my book.
Hi, Michael, just finished your survey! I'd love to take a course showing the ins and outs of metal detecting, so good luck with this project! Also, that barn reminds me of my dad's tool barn. Good memories! A lot of those tools are worth good money to the right collector.
Thanks for doing the survey! I’ll keep everyone updated. Yeah, I’ll have to go back to this place and search some more.
I love watching your videos. You are so cool. I have been detecting since 1973. He you, or anyone you know of, personaly used one of those long range detectors? The ones with several antennae sticking out. They just look so skammy but some are several thousands of dollars.
Shew-weee! I could smell the leaf dust when you were stirring around in those wooden boxes.
I took your survey. Thanks for all that you do for us. You are an inspiration and a blessing.
I loved that old shed, my grandad had one similar and watching you sift through all those oddments brought back the smell of wood and metal mixed in with dust and rust, I’ve filled in the survey too hope I was helpful. Take care
Thanks! It's always fun searching inside old buildings. I appreciate the help!
Half of that stuff should be in a museum, nice find.
I was told that those insulators are more desirable if they have the wood mount with them.
Another great video.
I love that wood box full of small odds and ends. Back in the day, you couldn't just hop in the car and drive down to the hardware store. Running into town was a major undertaking. When you finished a project and had some extra parts, you saved them for the next project, or the one after ....
By the way, a number of those small parts are hand-forged. That workshop was in use many, many years ago...
One last thing: The long device with the handle on one end and the hook on the other, that your finger is next to at 15:58, was used back in the day to tighten boot laces. ...
Oh wow, Nugget, I love thing-a- bobbers. Not everyone knows what that is. I like the knife handle. Keep on searching. That’s my kind of shopping. Good luck to you and God bless.
Thanks! I'll have to go back to that place soon!
I'm so jealous of you. I wanna dig in the shed toooo. Lol. Very cool
Great find. Lot of history there. Even the dogs were happy.
That place was awesome. Every year I go to a tractor steam up with a huge tool flea market. I always find some neat old $1 tools to restore/clean in the piles of stuff farmers bring.
Some good ol finds there😊👍🏻👩🏻🙏🏻
That bottle opener was real nice.
all those forge tools and the blacksmithing items are a story in themselves and should be saved from the neglect and left to rust away forgotten
The small arrowhead is whole ,and looks to be in perfect condition !
So enjoy seeing these finds in an old wooden building, reflecting a time when useful items were not discarded. Would be cool to make folk art out of them.
The type of tools that were in that shop suggests to me that they were possibly doing some type of gun repair. The items I noticed the most were the vice, the forge blower, the drill press, a handmade sign, two tap wrenches, the plane, the black smith tongs.
Wow that place is nice! That is a drill press, looks 1800's to me especially having a hand crank. The fact that it works makes it that much more valuable.
nice insulator.....nice old hand plane too....at 10:04.....looks like musket barrel ring - good spin - lots of nice tickets there
Did your survey, best of luck with the project! I also forgot too add, a lot of guys with channels never mention the best type of camera to use. Being newer to the field (pun), filling us in on gear other than detectors would be cool. -Adam
Watching you sort through stuff I’m saying to the screen pick that up . No not that I want to know what that is,also the big dusty box is nice. I have one wood box I’ve rescued. Now cleaned up and in my living room used as an end table. Really interesting vid
Seeing that stuff made me think of when I would rifle through my fathers collection of items in his workshop many years back. I should've kept a few of them when I had the chance; it's all gone now. Junk man took it (a burnt out trailer) and everything that accompanied the trailer away. Thanks for the video.
Amazing blacksmith tools, forge blower and amazing hardware. Wish I could find a place like that. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Some of those tools are valuable. That drill is really valuable
I found myself blowing the dust off of my phone lol. Reminds me of my old family tool shed. Great finds, and keep preserving the past.
The block plane and the pre war tools were the real good finds in that shed
Always cool to find relics like that. Reminds me of my own Grandfathers sheds and workshop! You are always inspiring Nuggett!
bless u brother nugget
You left the best relics you should have got those blacksmith tools and I seen a plane in there, they are worth some money
Yes I saw the plane. That would have been going home with me.
As a blacksmith I’m so envious of all the tools in that shed
2:22 soo cute 🥰😍😆😊your the best UA-camr the things you find are soo cool 😎
That old drill press by the door is awesome find. I would love to find one like that and restore it for use in my woodshop.
That Old Crosscut Saw and Old Bench Vise would be the Main things that I would Take....
Thank you for featuring doggos.
I would have so much fun in there! Right up my alley as well. I could spend hours going through everything! Nice video. Thanks for taking us in the shed! Love it!
in the past i went to a lot of farm clearance sales, some of them were 4 th generation family owned places so I would buy the boxes of loose "stuff" like those. that's where I would find the small collectible things such as a collection of very old spark plugs, which if you look them up can fetch very good money .
Survey completed. Love your videos, I thinks it's awesome that you begin and end your videos with scripture. Thank you and God bless!
Thank you so much
As usual, another superb video, Nugget. Thanks so much for sharing so many interesting videos. I often view many of your earlier ones and see how they have reached a stage of excellence.
That little black thing with the two holes in it that's an insulator it's goes on the end of a two prong plug so you don't hit the wires good find in there.👍👍🇨🇦
