    Put the gear in the freezer for about 2 hours, and before you install the bearings, warm the bearing up in your hands for a few minutes. They should slide right on.

    Just put the pinions in the freezer for an hour and the bearings in a warm place. I bet you the bearings would slide right on then.

      Didn't really want to go that way as I wanted to be able to remove the bearings whenever I wanted to.

    Hmmm. So I recieved every upgrade your doing here, for my own self > and I have not had to sand smooth a single bearing location on a shaft yet. Perhaps they have listened to you? I can only think they have. In your one closeup you have splines on your heli gears > I do not and they fit perfet. Its bittersweet that I had to watch you grind, but not had to do so myself.😔 I have faith in Injora; anyone that includes extra grub screws and wheel bolts and axle pins and many extra SS hex bolts must really care about this hobby.

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Рік тому +1

      Hello 👋
      No, I had already installed the bearings before doing all this work.
      Just grab a bearing kit and every time you open or work on something take out the bushings and replace it with the bearings.

  • @HeavyHaulagePilbara

    Do you lubricate the CVs in knuckle housing?

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  4 місяці тому +1

      Bro the only reason I don't recommend that is because when running in dust and sand it will just collect on the CV joint causing more damage than good.
      If you run a lot on rocks and water then yes you could put a bit of grease in there.
      But where I live everything is dry and Dusty and would just get in and the sand would just grind away the metal.

    Hey! I've just picked up the Alu axle housings with the laydown servo mount. I'm hoping that the front axle will be compatible with the "non universal" Injora LCG carbon chassis with the 5 deg angle. Any reason to think it won't work? I run the Injora 11kg servo...

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  7 місяців тому +1

      Hey bro, I have seen quite a few people say it works with that chassis.
      I haven't tried it yet, so I can't say to you that it does or it doesn't.
      I've got a set of those axles and I will fit them to the Bronco or the defender to see if it works with the non-universal lcg carbon fiber chassis.
      But I'm still waiting on the axle shafts that I took out to use on the diamond axles.
      Hopefully they will be here soon.
      I'm sorry I can't tell you yes or no but I have heard people say like I mentioned that it works.
      The only difference between the new Universal chassis and the old lcg chassis, is that they've made the rails sit a couple of millimeters further apart and then use adapters for the bumpers to fit.
      Which gives you more space for the lay down Servo setup.
      And from what I have observed on my latest build with the lay down service setup and the universal chassis is that there's just enough space for the setup.
      So in my opinion I do believe it's going to be a tight fit on the old LCG chassis.
      Hope that helps bro

      @@rcfungames alas, I decided to use the “old” LCG chassis to build up my IR40. But having built up my defender with a very similar carbon chassis, I expect they’ll work fine with the older Injora LCG.

    Does this skid plate catch on things bad?

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Рік тому +2

      It doesn't help as the axles already very low, but I drive on really Rocky and rough terrain, so just to protect the aluminum Axel's I thought it was worth it.
      But it's basically got the same clearance it had with the original tires.
      And in my opinion that haven't been too bad they were designed quite well, and I just gave them a slight bend upwards to prevent them catching as much.

    • @chrish9502
      @chrish9502 Рік тому +1

      @@rcfungames thanks! I see injora offers a version that covers the axle housing some as well. Do you find the area on your axles on either side of the pumpkin hitting things frequently?

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Рік тому +1

      @@chrish9502 you know what I saw those and I was going to get them, but from the reviews people don't seem to like them very much and no I haven't had not a scratch yet on that part of the axle. So personally I don't think it's worth it

    Good stuff but your drive-line is out of phase.

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Рік тому +1

      No it's not, I set it up like that so that way I reduce the angles on my drive-line.
      It runs so smooth and doesn't catch on the drivelines like it did originally.
      Thank you for the view and comment

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Рік тому +1

      And you do realize this is not a real car, it goes roughly 2 kilometers an hour
      So you're not really going to get any vibrations from the drive-lines not being phased 🤣
      If it was at fast RC car I could understand it being a problem
      Anyway just too point it out you do realize that's all the wheels are off balance, amongst many more running parts so it could never be a vibration free. Lol 🤣🤣🤣
      But on this tiny crawler at the speed it runs you are never going to notice it 🤣🤣🤣

      But afterwards when messing around with it I put them in phase and haven't had a problem since.
      Mine is running nice and smoothly only have a little bit of lurching when I'm at full turn.

    • @grandmasteraj855
      @grandmasteraj855 Рік тому +1

      @@rcfungames I hope my new ones are good. The problem with mine was that they were machined in such a way that made it impossible to fit the 2 halves together in-phase. No matter how I turn them and put them together they would still be out so I contacted injora. Got my fingers crossed the new set is good.

    • @rcfungames
      @rcfungames  Рік тому

      @@grandmasteraj855 don't forget the angle coming out of the transfer case and the angle that meets the axle need to be at the same angle
