im thinking about doing this for my 07 sierra 2x4 with a 5.3, hows it lasting for you so far? noticed my rear was worn when i went to pull out in traffic today and spun the tires. left a 20ft mark of one wheel peel action.
It works good for a bit but with doing burnouts it has broken the splines on the clutches so it has a hard time locking but for regular drivers and offroad its good. But it is really not the best diff but this mod does make it better. I'm swapping to a Ford 8.8 with a lsd so I won't have to worry about it. But the mod is cheap and it works ok.
loved my welded diff, swapped to a 8.5 with a g80 and it was wore out so its practically a open diff now...
Find an F-body 1999-2002 with the 7.6 Torsen diff. Bolts in to the S10 7.6 rearend if it's 28 spline axles.

Should have just removed the weight
Harden steel isn't meant to be welded and can break easily.
