I've always loved their "gentler" more contemplative songs - love having them in addition to angry bangers like Total Football. A Parquet Courts for every mood!
I think Human Performance is in 4/4, so it might be neck and neck on nothing better than a waltz. Parquet Courts embrace of the puppetry arts is one of their many admirable qualities.
I work in a call centre and was speaking to a customer blasting this and I thankfully got the song name from him, if you're reading this I just wanted to let you know thank you so much for this amazing song and I hope you had a lovely trip to yass :)

I caught this on the visualizer not too long ago on NoonChrorus with Joe Pera and Bill Walton. Needless to say, the video was AWESOME, and this is one of my favorite songs. "Walking at a Downtown Pace" actually turned me on to you guys, and I've been peeling through your backlog backwards since, but you've no doubt a new (yet stauchly devoted) fan. I'm gonna catch you boys at Mr. Small's Theater near Pittsburgh in March! Keep rocking guys!
video is cool. this album was a huge step down from the last few but this is one of my faves from it. I'm still looking forward to the next one in 2023. will always be a fan.
Mexico City loves you, your show on Corona Capital was great but we really need other show only to you, for real fans, on a closed place. Think about it! :D
I watch their vids to learn the guitar parts so this is perfect
Clear finger positioning.
Dude you must be really good! I could never follow these guys
Whatever got us this, more
LMFAO

Nothing better than a Parquet Courts waltz tune with puppets, I've always said.

my favourite song on the album

You're the most beautiful person for this, I hope at least part of you knows that, if not those around you.
Something satisfying about seeing puppets living out life.
That guitar bit could go on forever for me though that said it’s just sublime
*LYRICS [pulled from our good friend Genius]*
Delivery, mouth watering
Optimized for pleasure, it seems
I f...s with it not
It can’t be helped, thy police state
Fodder to a vast database
Under influence
Trash goes in green, glass goes in blue
This heart of mine’s audience to
Pesky inner voice
Then suddenly, I am alone
In the truest sense of the word
With nothing else to hear or watch, just shadows
Like an inmate that’s finished his term
My merry way, on it, I saw
Civilization rise and fall
Now you’ve gone and done
Algorithm waltz sets the pace
Indicates an authentic taste
Tell me what I love
No cleaning charge, no shipping fee
Holy and hosed off like a beast
Economic crash
Then suddenly, everything’s calm
And there’s black winter mud on your feet
And the thick net of fibers that you passed through
Are like a memory you dragged to delete
Amazon fire, twenty percent off
Global cost, vast species death
Suggested for you
Curated life agrees with me
Programmed to know when I should sleep
And when to wake up
Preferences set, authorizing
Life’s not as modern as it seems
Can’t pick who you love
I never realized what the third line was and I'm laughing so hard thanks
@Jon Osborne I had to censor that one out cos I don’t need UA-cam hiding this comment thinking I’m being rude or something
I love everything about this album, and this vid is perfect.
U know in this world u just gravitate to music u love and for here the apple just fell for me
this video is incredible. had this stuck in my end for the entire day. best part was when he was getting a haircut
My least favourite on first play of the album is now my favourite, as usual with this band. They have depths. Perfect video too.
Just the most sublime guitar rift I’ve ever here’d in a song not to much not to little just perfect
How they have not become massive in the music world is a mystery to me
I’ve only just discovered this band man they r good just luv there sounds
I was concerned when seeing the first few seconds of this because of the last time puppets were used Parquet Courts music video

Kermit licked a frog
⭐⭐⭐⭐👍🤩🎶🎵👏
Great.
I saw Andrew hiking in 2021. He was not in puppet form
ha, limited to one rules!
Haha, funny
The new shit sucks. Cheers!
Does plagiarizing oneself count as plagiarisms😀? This is so much the same as freebird 2.
I really liked the puppets, thought the tune was shit tho.
Using frog as a muppet !! Wow I don’t think anyone has done that creative idea before
