Such a shame. The spire was unique in its design. I visited Copenhagen in 2022 and this was the most iconic building.

I would bet it has something to do with the construction work being done. It's a shame the building is a beautiful historic building that probably never be able to be saved. I hate to see this happen on something that has a historic past.
while the construction makes this more likely... anyone "in the know" understands that the construction means less or 0 modern fire prevention is being utilized inside and this is the perfect opportunity to make sure its actually, burned to the ground.
its sad days when everything is suspicious.
Well now its a big beautiful pile of crap..

Notre Dame 2.0?
@joshlidowdie24 🤡
Why? Explain. 🤡
It is hard to believe that a fire suppression system is not installed when working on ancient wooden buildings. A temporary one that would be capable of containing fire during construction.
True. Considering the building was historic and iconic, I would think the employer of the renovation crew would be aware he could be sued big time for carelessness.
As the building had a copper roof and copper dont burn, the fire department said that the heat got trapped inside and made the fire more destructive. The building had fire supression system. But i think the fire might have started in the roof because they were putting new copper roof on the building.
And that my friends is how you assure the budget for a whole new building.

What wrongdoing and corruption? It's just an office building for a private company. That hasn't been accused of anything. Not to mention that documentation for that sort of thing is all digital these days.
Pfff of course. The least corrupt country in the world is corrupt. What has the world come to. Everything is suspicious and planned today, everything is a conspiracy theory. People do not believe in accidents anymore. I'm tired of it all.

I'm confused. This was the old stock exchange? And the modern Stock Exchange in Denmark is the Copenhagen Stock Exchange (CSE), located somewhere else?
This is the old, historic building, called the Stock Exchange. The actual stock exchange moved out in 1978 and moved to Nikolaj Plads 6. The building has been used for office space since.

👍 Thanks
I went there when my Danish grandmother took me to visit my family there. So sad!
Distraction
No.
Definitely careless construction workers. This sort of thing happens regularly. Notre Dame fire almost certainly was related to the renovation going on at the time.
Five years exactly after the spire at Notre Dame came burning down.
This video popped up for me after I watched " tickle me Elmo on fire" 😂
Wow, somebody was mad angry, and must have lost a lot of money in stocks, so they decided to burn the building down?😧
I was thinking the same thing!
It’s a historical stock exchange for back in the day. Not like the NASDAC we have today. They have a modern building for that. It’s a historical building that has cultural meaning and was to be preserved. But I guess nothing last forever.
The building hasn't been a stock exchange since 1978. It's served as an office building since then
Jeez, the comments here! We don't know what happened. But my guess is that it was a construction accident - where someone was doing welding and something caught fire, who knows. Or, it could have even been a construction worker's cigarette wasn't properly put out. I doubt it was arson, but we'll see.
@@cheesekingofdenmark6910 So, burning of documents. Got it.
Somebody want the insurance money 😩😭

Both of you really think that huh? The simplest answer a dim witted mob guy or indebted buisness owner could come up with. Yet you two think you are ahead of the game by coming up with the easiest first answer ever! 😂
How much money does insurance ever giver out? As little as possible. They never give out the real costs of something.
This is far more sinister than “insurance money” you simpletons..
Notre Dame 2.0?
Why would they though? The building was undergoing a massive restoration, returning the building to tip-top shape. It wasn't even paid for by the owners. So they're literally getting a good-as-knew building for someone else's money already.
The stock exchange was built from 1619 and originally housed a central hall and two rows of twenty stalls each, which could be rented out. The king took an active part in the construction, and his desire for a distinctive architecture led to the setting up of the famous spire with the twisted dragon tails.
After all, we know that dragons are known to guard gold. As guardians above the Danish trading centre, the dragons were therefore an appropriate symbol of Denmark's wealth and importance.
Well, Notre Dame's rebuilt, what next?
Yep. New order: new religion, new financial system and.... Waiting too for the next one
If anyone thinks this burning is a coincidence you are fooled by the author of lies and deception.
careful with your conspiracy cycle.
first thing I thought 😮
Too many mishaps at this moment in the Western World. Only a woke person would find this current world perfect 😤. There is a Marine Corps saying, "Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, thrice is enemy action".
And those fellows know a thing or two about things happening by chance, or not!
Why should it no be a coincidence? And a coincidence with what exactly?
coincidence to what?
Maybe I'm crazy, but this is the second time something old and historic has caught on fire while being repaired
It's far from the first time. Old buildings built in the days before fire safety are quite flammable.
Brian Mikkelsen, chief of the Danish Chamber of Commerce, which is headquartered in the Old Stock Exchange, and his staff were seen scrolling through a binder of photos of paintings to be saved. The works were carried to the nearby parliament and Danish National Archives around the corner.
The Børsen is owned by Denmark's Chamber of Commerce. Mikkelsen said they had planned to have the royal family, the Danish government and other dignitaries see the Old Stock Exchange after the renovation later this year. “That won't happen now,” he said.1 hour ago
The question to be asked is will the Chamber of Commerce SUE the contractor for the renovation for carelessness and what is the name of that contractor?

Gee.... I wonder how that could have possibly happened?
Most likely an accident relating to the ongoing restoration work. But that is just speculation, as the investigation hasn't even started yet.
What a shame that most likely set?
I didnt know they had stock exchanges in the 1600's?
We did not. In the beginning the building were used to sell ordinary goods, and somewhat finer goods. Including spices, books and art. It was also a meeting place for people. So a sort of a mall of it's time? Then it slowly became more upscale and only traded fine goods, and as such it's visitors changed from all sorts of people to mainly upper class people.
Later papers of value started being traded, and even later on actual stocks and bonds. In modern time it is still used for trade in the sense that buisness deals and projects are planned and made in there. Or so it used to.
@@mammasut8280 Thanks for the reply, I kinda of figured some kind of trading? ah, didn't even think about spices. Cool I learned something today. Yes it's definitely a shame it's has been destroyed by fire. Hopefully it will be rebuilt or repaired rather than modernized even more.
