John, very informative. I think if we're not nervous about cutting down dead trees, bad things happen quick. Don't matter the size. Thanks for giving us the history of the tree. It's gonna make good firewood bundles for sure.

Thanks so much for watching and your comment! I really appreciate it. Honestly, every day is an adventure, and I'm learning so much. Just trying to stay alive while doing so, LOL.

Love the Stihl 026. Runs sweet.
I totally admire your ability to assess and deal with falling risk. Felling trees, especially dead trees terrifies me because of what I do not know. Love what I learn every time you video one of your tree takedowns. Keep ‘em comin.

I stand on the shoulders of giants, Howard. Virtually everything I can do was learned from someone way better than me !

Good morning John, taking down dead or nearly dead trees always requires thoughtful planning. Great job! and a nice load of firewood. You have a beautiful property 👍

Thanks so much, Ben! I am not sure if firewood sales are a predictor of the type of winter we will be getting, but I have targets on all the dead trees!

Howdy John. Nicely done, you got it down safely exercising patients. That Sophora Japonica is an interesting tree. I have never seen one before. Must be pretty hard if hand tools were made from it. I wonder what the btu rating is. That bit of rot at the bottom did look a little unsettling.

Paul: I am very interested in harvesting some of the wood to mill and see what it looks like. Thanks for the compliments. That means a lot coming from your experience!

I’d be up for some of that handle wood. Hoping to get a midi lathe soon.

Great video John. It looks in the video that the rings are far apart, indicating a fast growing tree.
Nice moisture count. Would be nice to know in a months time of drying what the moisture count is. Just for interest.
Have a great day John. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻🪵🪓🔥
