Just home from the Vietnam War for a few years in 1975 and in my 20s.. this music defined a lot of us. It just warms my heart to see young people enjoying Zeppelin now. My generation is at the end now . Please keep this music alive for us. Thank you.
If no one has said it, Welcome Home. I truly hope you don't have any unresolved issues from your time there. If you do PLEASE get help. I had a guy in my college class that was there and he unfortunately suffered from PTSD. He told me at the time they didn't believe you guys and your problems. I personally witnessed him suffering and it was terrible. When he came back to me I naively asked him what happened. He replied to me "I am someone else and go to some other place, and I don't know that person and I don't know where I go". I lost track of him years ago and I think he wanted it that way. He didn't want to burden others with his problem., Such a shame, great guy, I wish I could have helped more. We as a generation might be going away but damn if we aren't leaving behind some incredible music aren't we?! Be well and safe peace to you and yours.

@Al-yf7m Couldn't have said it any better! Let us just say I've been listening to LZ for a long time. These guys made my high school years just bearable. And when I was in college and trying to figure out a math or engineering class problem they cooled my mind and the solution would seem to appear. Yes, they were hard and soft at the same time because they were incredible musicians at the top of their game and were generous enough to share with us. Be well and safe, peace to you and yours.
Page has the ability to play endlessly, tirelessly and interestingly for extended periods of time. But also knows how to let a song breathe. Allows space between notes. Creates atmosphere and feeling.
Well put, Page was and still is one of the best composers in my lifetime, along with Lennon & McCartney, they had an ear for music in general, and such great minds to be able to put it all together for our enjoyment, although I'll always lean towards Zeppelin as the best, but I'm biased, I was a teenager in the 70's when Zeppelin ruled, them and Pink Floyd were so amazing, I could go on and on. Great reaction btw, I could see you two were really into the music, it just can't be helped, such a beautiful sound, it draws you in
A lost love. She wanted the ultimate answer, “me or the music?” Ten years have gone by. Did he make the right choice? He seems to still hold a spark for her. One of my favorite LZ songs.
Ahhh one of the great Zeppelin tracks. Timeless and beautiful in all departments. Plant's nostalgic lyrics, John Paul Jones' arrangement expertise and subtle but impactful bass line, Page with inspiring chord progressions and melodic solo and Bonham as usual knowing when to go hard and when to go soft complimenting the song and taking nothing away. Just beautiful.
This song is from the Physical Graffiti album...personally, my favorite album from Led Zeppelin. There legitimately is not 1 bad track on the entire album.
Were you listening to AOR stations in the 1970s? Those DJ schmucks played STH to death, and it must have been the most requested song from 1971-76. I can't listen to it anymore, including most of LZ IV, the Runes album. I enjoy every album from the first (my fave) to Presence, excepting the pomposity of Runes. Just my opinion, unshared by nearly everyone. So sue me...
The two 5-story buildings photographed for the album cover are located at 96 and 98 St. Marks Place in NYC. The fourth floor had to be cropped out to fit the square album cover format.
Good evening Vickie Ray-this is one my ex wife-Vickie Rae didn't get; I still have it. It's my favorite LZ album until I listen to another one; then that's my favorite one-peace
“In The Light” and “The Wanton Song” are musts from side 3. But this double album Classic offering from Zeppelin is worth covering from start to finish. Keep on Rockin “The Channel” guys! 🤘😉
Jimmy calls it "light & shade". This particular song means a lot to me in that on the anniversary of my fiance's death, June 2 (2010) 2020, I played this song NON STOP. Love your reactions!
Oh yeah! One of my favorite Zeppelin jamms... Smooth!!! Love this song! It's all that to me. Takes me way back. 1975 the, "Physical Graffiti Album!" This whole album got some great songs. You two probably heard some of them. Awesome 💯💯🔥🔥✌️ Legendary
I think ever Zep fan held their breath after this when they released the next album simply because where do you go from there. They showed us but still - this album is on another level.
For me, the emotion in the voice is matched or echoed by the emotion in the guitar. The many layers of sound make this one of my Led Zeppelin favorites.
I've never chummed in on your show but I feel like I need to make a recommendation for the 4 young men from England. I was blessed enough to be able to see them when I was 16 years old and they were in their prime. I was mesmerized. The concert lasted 4 hours and 15 minutes........It was perfect.. I've been to over 100 concerts and hands down Led Zeppelin takes home the blue ribbon.... Thanks Asia. Thanks B.J..... Sit back, relax, and let the Boyz entertain you with, Tea for One! If you enjoyed Ten years gone you'll love this. Much Respect. Elizabeth
This is considered by many to be the best Led Zep tune. To me it is. The first half is all about loss. The notes are sorrowful and heart breaking. Then he gets her back. Then the same notes are triumphant. I love it.
This song has been criminally underplayed on the radio through the years. On the flipside, at least the radio didn't kill it by overplaying it either. Either way, it remains one of my top favorites of theirs, one that always pricks my heart and coaxes a tear. And you two are the BEST reactors out there reactin'! PEACE!
you guys should check out their song, " since i've been loving you" studio version, absolutely incredible song, the soul of that song really touches the soul, deeply

Some real artistry in this gentler side of Zeppelin. But of course even their gentler side packs a punch. And the artistry's always there. Robert wrote this thinking about a real someone from his early youth. Another epic song from "Physical Graffiti" is "In the Light". If you close your eyes & give yourself over to it you might find yourself visiting another dimension.👀 💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙
I was 15 when Physical Graffiti was released and it was my first Led Zeppelin album that I felt was for me. Their previous albums felt like oldies to me, not of my time. I'm biased but Physical Graffiti is their greatest album 😎🎤🎸
Wow, deep cut! Great choice. For my money, one of the greatest unsung Led Zeppelin tracks. The other great epic from this album ,"Physical Grafitti," is "In The Light," which is just a whole mood. And for just plain nasty grooves, "Custard Pie," and especially "The Wanton Song," which IMO is the single most vicious groove on their entire catalog.
Led Zeppelin with John Bonham/Drums; Jimmy Page/Guitar, John Paul Jones Bass & Robert Plant on Vocals. " Physical Graffiti" is a masterpiece. All Zep is timeless and was so far ahead of their time. When this first came out I would put the headphones on ,turn the lights out, close my eyes and let it take me away.
Beautiful textured music. Several guitar parts overlaid by the genius Mr Page matched by the emotional vocal delivery of Robert Plant. Perfectly synced group. Such a classic beauty of a song.

You're right on with the blues-rock label. This song is just pure genius in my opinion. It just gets better and better on repeated listenings. The layers of guitars in this is truly incredible. Physical Graffiti is one of their best works. Kashmir is on this also.

And the use of the Mixolydian b6 scale, neither happy or sad. Many guitarists refer to it as the Tens Years Gone scale.

thats what made zeppelin so great. the lyrics speak to your mind, the melody/rhythm speaks to your body and the guitar speaks to your soul.

Not unlike Pink Floyd, for those very reasons you cited.
