@@seanmitchell1659 I love little stories like that, my dad gave me his Bruce Springsteen live 1975/85 album when I graduated college, I already love the music but the history of it being my dad's record makes it even cooler🤘🏼
I love this song so much I can’t even express to you how much I love this song. I’m 53 years old. I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin and this is one of the best. This song is bad ass.
Never heard this zeppelin song but it immediately took me out of this chaotic world and soothed my emotions. Can't beat the old school. The songs were created to be experienced not just dance to.
One of their best ballads, it still gives me chills all these years later. For an incredible ballad and live interpretation, try from Page and Plant their amazing take of Babe I'm Going to Leave You from 1998, it has one of Jimmy Page's best solos and Robert Plant is in fine voice for this Led Zeppelin classic. It will be one of the best musical experiences you ever have, take a chance on it, you will love it. Enjoy! 🎸
Such a lovely beautiful sentiment in this song. It brings our fragility and temporary existence into focus! I thank Led Zeppelin for being the best band in my lifetime.
John Paul Jones (bass) also played keyboard, organ, mandolin... he was very much Led Zeppelin's musical genius, but was in the back. He was not a rock star like Jimmy Page, Robert Plant or John Bonham, but he played a huge part in song arrangements and Zeppelin's musical success. Jones and Bonham were the ones who gave the power and groove to the band.
I really love the contrasts in this song. The soft vocals with the acoustic guitar and the heavy drum cadence with the organ/bass pedals. A true classic!
I have always loved this song. Maybe I’m just a big mush, but it always brings a tear to my eye because it’s so beautiful and it reminds me how much I love my wife.
One of their sweetest songs. When reactors have been through the "Black Dogs" and the "Whole Lotta Loves", fine songs that they are, they're kinda unprepared for this one. This is the kinder, gentler Zeppelin. Two other songs of theirs along this vibe you really need to check out are THE RAIN SONG and THAT'S THE WAY. You'll thank me later.
The vocals are recorded so clearly and with so little effect, that you can actually hear Robert Plant's lips parting. You don't get that in present day recordings. You should give Ten Years Gone a listen.
This is such an amazingly beautiful song you missed the end you have to go back and listen to the remaining part of the song it just finishes out the beauty of this masterpiece. I once read from a reactor and he said that if the northern lights were able to make a sound would be the sound of the end of this song after Robert stop singing. Stay blessed 🙏
Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away - All of my Love - D'yer Maker - Kashmir - Stairway to Heaven - Whole lotta Love - Rock n Roll - California - Dancing Days - Fool in the Rain - Good Times Bad Times - Heartbreaker - Hey Hey Mama - Misty Mountain Hop - No Quarter - Ocean - Ramble On - Ten Years Gone - When the Levee Breaks - You're time is gonna come
Led Zepplin has so many great songs. Also check out Ramble On, Since I've Been Loving You, Rock and Roll, The Rain Song, Good Times Bad Times, Fool in the Rain, Over the Hills and Far Away, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Ten Years Gone, D'yer Mak'er, All My Love, Heartbreaker, Moby Dick, and Achilles Last Stand. You've already done some great ones - Immigrant Song, Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, When the Levee Breaks, Dazed and Confused, Whole Lotta Love, Going to California and Black Dog
Their great love song brings me back to my first great love, whom I still cherish in my heart, even though decades and other loves have come and gone. In "The Tao of Physics" the good professor says that when sub-atomic particles collide, each will thenceforth influence the other. Same may be true for us.
Oh hell yeah everybody!!!! Time to get the Led Out with these two awesome reactors!!!! Here we go it’s the 🐐’s of music lol. Luv this band!!! Thx guys I swear if the northern lights made a sound, this song would be it!
A beautiful song Robert wrote for his wife, for supporting him with his career choice. Soon to be 39 years ago, this was my husband & my wedding song, as it was for many couples.
A beautiful song from one of the greatest Rock albums ever made. One of the few songs that Jimmy sings harmonies with Robert. There are a few songs on Zep II where you can hear Jimmy singing
It is true what a genius John Paul Jones was to this band! Engineering and everything else he played! Of course, he knew what great talents the rest of his band members were!!!
I have been listening to led Zeppelin since 1969 and I have to say the is one of my favorite songs by them. Thanks to you for doing this great song!!! 😀❤️❤️

Jimmy started the band, so he already wrote the whole first album, and few on the second album, when suddenly Robert Plant wrote this song, and Jimmy from then on had no problem with Robert writing songs, from then on out, because Jimmy was that impressed. True story. First song Robert wrote for Legendary Led Zeppelin. 😎👍👍

Thank you both for reacting to this beautiful love song! To me it is one of their most underrated songs along with "Going To California", "Ramble On", "Battle of Evermore", "The Rain Song" and "When The Levee Breaks"! You are both inspirations to me!!
You have to hear - After Led Zeppelin - Robert Plant on his own Robert Plant - Tall Cool One - 29 Palms - Big Log - Heaven Knows - Ship of Fools - Sea of Love

My husband of 41 years just died a week ago and this was one of two songs that was our song. The other is My Love by Paul McCartney.Thank you is a beautiful song.
Led Zepplin has always been my favorite band. It’s hard to believe that many of the songs I love came out when I was so young. I was the oldest child so I wouldn’t come to know this music for years later. Until the mid 70’s. I was in 3rd grade when this came out. The popular music of the day was so innocent-sounding compared to Led Zepplin. But, this song and their music and so many of the other great bands of the 70s have stood the test of time. I was a lucky one to have been a teenager in a time with all this great music. And now it’s coming back.
Way back in the early 80's I was in the Limo with my best friend headed to her wedding. She had the most beautiful dress and we played this song. It was very special.
Great song. My favorite Zeppelin song is Since I've Been Loving You. I know it's not the typical favorite Zep song. It's not one of their incredible mysterious English folk rock anthems that are so powerful and it's more about their blues roots but there's just something about it. It's put out there with such force. It goes from so soft to so loud and ... what's the word? Forceful. So strong. It has fire.
And some advice when listening to led zep or and other classic rock bands you definitely need to listen to each song a few times to really appreciate it, so go back and listen to all those songs multiple times and you will definitely know what I mean because it’s well worth it
The song 'Thank You' is one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs. You may want to check out 'The Immigrant Song (Studio Version)' and 'The Song Remains The Same (Live, 1973 at Madison Square Garden).'
I will never forget growing up in a neighborhood of 12 guys and after graduation they all came together drinking a beer arm in arm singing this song. it was there song.
This song was written about Robert Plant's wife. She worked as a nurse and supported him financially when he was a struggling musician/singer before his career with Led Zeppelin took off.
"Thank You," was recorded in 1969, on a Hammond C3 organ, with no vibrato using a Leslie speaker. The Leslie speaker is recorded with two microphones, panned wide apart for stereo; the main microphone sound is bright and sharp, and clearly indicates the textural changes of the track. The other microphone channel is almost entirely without treble and is panned to the left to fill the "space" behind the guitar. This creates a wide full sound without interfering with the balance between the organ and guitar, which are on opposite sides. The "bass" track is Hammond organ, as well, that was recorded separately for clarity. A tape delay, which echoes the organ track in the opposing speaker, creates an echo effect.
The Leslie speaker is a combined amplifier and loudspeaker that projects the signal from an electric or electronic instrument and modifies the sound by rotating a baffle chamber ("drum") in front of the loudspeakers. A similar effect is provided by a rotating system of horns in front of the treble driver.
Robert wrote this song for his wife and was the first Zeppelin song he wrote the majority of the lyrics for; although Jimmy contributed the "little drops of rain..." segment and sang along with Robert for that part. It is simple in style but no less beautiful and elegant. Hard to believe this was originally from 1968 when it sounds just as lovely today.
My wife and I began dating my senior year of HS. That was 35 years ago. This was and still is "our" song. It rings more true today than it did back then. We've walked the miles together now to give this song context.
